The facility focuses on providing scientific care that’s been proven to help with recovery. Alternative Therapeutic Approaches in Charlotte The facility offers alternative therapeutic approache | Treatments Payment Options | I can't thank Peggy Lombardo (Alumni Coordinator) enough for saving a family member's life. She befriended "Will" long before he was willing to seek help. He was never alone in life because she checked on him regularly and gently coaxed him into getting the help that he desperately needed.
Approximately 7 months after reaching out, Will made the decision to better his life by accepting Peggy's offer of help. Once his decision was made, Peggy instantly started moving mountains to get him the help he needed. She was in daily contact with his family offering her advice, supplying helpful contact information, and even talking him through his fears when they became too great and he wanted to run.
As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again.
A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. When asked if he ever talks to Peggy anymore, the answer is "yes! she's full of valuable resources.".
How do you thank someone who has saved the life of someone you thought was lost forever? There is no repayment plan that could ever be enough for this angel on earth. Peggy will always be our angel. She truly has an amazing gift and we are forever in her debt.

Great place! Coming into this I was a little skeptical about being treated well. The staff and therapist took their time with me, to tend to my needs as a new patient. I had some bumps along the way until I met Evie Dillard. She was so helpful to me by giving me extra resources to get ready to exit treatment. I’m talking about food, shelter and even information about great jobs. I started working, got a place to rest my and made great friend for life. Thank you so much, Evie.

Lemme tell you about the housing situation 1st.
I read the good reviews and the horrible and the bad kinda concerned me.
I can tell you the bad was not only exaggerated but most just someone salty and spreading total BS.
There are no rodents and I've never been to a house that had zero bugs not even a fly before I got here, not even my father's house. Ok so these 2 floor some with a upper smoking/ lounge deck are nice nice! 4 bedroom 3 full double sink bathrooms , two with walk-in shower , I bath / shower and a half bath by living room. It's fully stocked with any pans coffee pot anything you need.
The staff are some of the nicest ppl and you absolutely get to know them.
You are treated pretty much how you treat them. Just be kind!
Midwood center was the one I went to and the staff there are always awesome. If you need something just speak up, I've seen ppl come through and expect everyone to be mind readers.
I would list everyone I love at Harmony but I'm horrible with names but there are standouts.
Christine, Crystn (sik). Byron,Lisa, Miss Gail
( Amber always pushing DBT therapy 😬) Bobby, the tech who's name escapes me that calls everyone "Big Dog)
And Lastly but firstly Miss Peggy who is the sweetest person I've ever met and she saved my life just by getting to know me calling my phone to talk to someone else. She had my back and actually drove to Salvation Army and helped me get insurance, talked me into Salvation Army in first place and bought my broke ass two packs of smokes
She is absolutely a gift from God and deserves to be the highest paid at Harmony!
But I'm betting she would do it for free
No fear y'all this place is absolutely what you make it.

I was living a miserable life. I was homeless in jail in another county as where my family livedand hopeless. I was having a lot of mental health issues and I was a drug addict on top of this. I couldn't figure anything out anymore that would help me get my life in order. I heard about a lady named Mrs. Peggy who worked or a place called a Harmony House. I called her and immediately you could hear peace and hope in her voice. She started communicating with my mother. They got me some insurance and I was released and sent to harmony. I have had the opportunity to deal with some trauma which in turn helped me understand myself more and my addiction. I wish I could express how much harmony means to me. I hope to give back harmony the way it gave to me. Thank you so much Mrs. Peggy words can't express my gratitude towards you.

The Resilience and Recovery group, especially Tene who leads the group, is great. The group is different from most other recovery groups, which focus primarily on uncovering past trauma or the reasons why you used; the group discusses ways to reframe your thoughts and learn more coping skills so that, when you feels the urge to use, you can identify those thoughts and work to change them into more positive and healthy reactions. The group isn’t useful just for refraining from drug use, it is extremely helpful for mental health in general so you can have a more positive outlook on life.

Went to this hospital for the first time today (April 11th 2025) to have an endoscopy procedure which I had also never had done before. The doctor doing my procedure was Dr. Shanti Rao. She was very pleasant and friendly and helpful in answering my questions. All of the nurses and everyone on my medical care team for my procedure were all amazing. Everyone was super kind and very friendly and welcoming and everything from the time we walked in the door until the time we left the hospital after my procedure. They helped keep me calm when I was really anxious they helped put me at ease more and helped me feel comfortable more. I also have tiny veins so am usually a hard stick for an IV or blood work and even though it did take them a few times to get a vein they were as gentle as possible and didn't just dig around and again helped keep me calm and it was way less painful than IV experiences I've had in the past at other hospitals. All around it was a very pleasant experience for having to be in the hospital and everyone was great and took great care of me. Great hospital and great staff.

It's one floor and easy to park.
The environment outside is beautiful.
I visited 3 other clinics/practices before EPPG and I had DISMAL experiences.
EPPG was an oasis and they ALL work hard to remember that the clientele often have crises, and my overreactions or frantic manner has always been met with understanding and perceptible compassion.
I don't know how EPPG can be topped in any aspect.
My first psychiatrist committed suicide. Yeah. Dr. Gellar began treating me and he's the SOLE reason that I never took my life. He's guided me through many traumas and I am healthy and able to manage my depression bc of his devotion to excellent care.
EPPG IS A MODEL THAT SHOULD BE DUPLICATED BC THEY ARE RARE AND UNSURPASSABLE BUT THEY STRIVE FOR PERFECTION.
If you have bad things to say? YOU are most likely the problem, not anyone at EPPG.

| The Renfrew Center of North Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina, is an outpatient facility that treats clients with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder, including bulimia, anorexia, and binge eating. They also treat clients with co-occurring disorders such as trauma, substance use, and body image issues. The center welcomes adolescent girls | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I will always be so grateful for Renfrew! I have been to various treatment centers and truly had such a great experience here and owe so much of my recovery to the team here. I spent several long months at Renfrew in PHP & IOP and came such a long way from where I started. No treatment center is perfect - Renfrew can initially seem to have a one size fits all treatment model and in my experience did not find it to be super individualized at first, especially with orthorexia, but if you verbalize that they will do their best to meet you where you’re at! Every single one of the staff while I was there - Kyla, Kasha, Alex, Lindsay, and Judi were all truly wonderful and really did seem to care about me and want to support me. The groups actually have value and I find myself using many of the tools and skills I learned in my day to day life far beyond my time here. It is challenging but it’s meant to challenge your eating disorder. I truly believe my time here saved my life and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking treatment

I spent several long months at Renfrew in PHP & IOP and definitely come such a long way from where I started and am SO grateful for all of the staff and team here for all they have done for me. I came for orthorexia as my outpatient team recommended I step up, then started in IOP here, after a month was told I needed residential for lack of progress. I was able to negotiate a PHP trial first but that still failed and am stepping up to res elsewhere but plan to come back as I step back down! No treatment center is perfect - Renfrew can have a very one size fits all treatment model and in my experience did not find it to be super individualized, but if you verbalize that they will do their best to meet you where you re at! I had to use a lot of self advocacy for any accommodations or when asking for what I needed or explaining what was helpful for me. The staff while I was there were all truly wonderful and really did seem to care about me and want to support me as much as they could. Shoutout to Kyla, Kasha, Alex & Lindsay! I was just told my orthorexia was too severe for PHP and IOP level. But I will say in both of these levels, they do expect a high level of compliance - most of the other people in PHP had stepped down from residential, and in IOP as well the expectation would be 100% meal competition to remain in those levels or they will be quick to step you up to res. There is no kitchen so the lunch and dinners were catered - often Jason's Deli, sandwiches, pizza (Dominos or Mellow Mushroom), burgers, pasta, and they would also have "dessert days" like Oreos, ice cream, etc. Breakfasts in PHP were oatmeal, bagels, yogurt, cereal, waffles and would rotate each day. I struggled immensely with the meals - for someone with orthorexia it was like going from 0-100 and felt impossible, they did not even feel remotely safe or healthy. PHP was basically the exact same as IOP x2, more like a school day. Some of the groups can be very repetitive but others I did really enjoy. As hard as treatment was and continues to be, I truly would not have made the progress I have without the team here and plan to come back stepping down after res! I also made some wonderful everlasting friendships during my time here and became close with both groups I was apart of. The recovery community is so powerful and just have so much gratitude for my time here.

If I could give 100 stars I would do it in a second! This place helped my daughter not only survive, but thrive! We spent some tough months in intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization. Insurance companies should have a better understanding of eating disorders and the needs of those living through them. We were thankful ours gave us what we needed but many cut therapy short. I hope that changes so people truly have the time and help to heal.
The staff at The Renfrew center know their stuff and are caring, compassionate, and accessible. Families should be all in to support each other. Renfrew can’t do it all, but working together, true and lasting healing is a beautiful possibility! Thank you from my whole heart!❤️

| NorthStar Clinical Services, located in Charlotte, North Carolina is a public alcohol and drug rehab that offers treatment for a variety of substance abuse addictions including alcoholism. They offer flexible outpatient addiction therapy allowing patients to live at home while receiving regular treatment. Additional levels of care offered include i | Treatments Programs Payment Options | NorthStar has been one of the most authentic life experiences that I have had. It’s so much more than a Recovery program.
The therapists are mentors and friends, and have the perfect combination of being compassionate, but give tough love when you need it.
I look forward to going and many times jokingly ask if I can stay there overnight and on the weekends :-). It’s such a safe haven and also a place of learning. It’s like you get mini psychology classes every single session.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be at NorthStar and encourage all who are struggling to give them a call or email.
It’s my job to get and remain sober, but the support, education and accountability that I’ve gotten through them has helped more than anything that I have tried in the past.
I can confidently say that Northstar has saved my life…..in every sense of the word.
