Healing Pines Recovery is located in Elizabeth, Colorado close to both Elbert and Douglas Counties. They use evidence-based, holistic and experiential methods that they believe are critical to sobriety and long-term recovery. One of their main points of focus is on helping clients learn to accept, process and communicate emotions. They exclusively
Healing Pines Recovery truly gave our family a second chance, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. My husband entered Healing Pines Recovery suffering from complex PTSD caused by both childhood trauma and 31 years of military service. Like many veterans, he had turned to alcohol as a way to cope with the pain. By the time we started searching for help, our family was at a breaking point. We knew that if he didn't receive intensive treatment, it could very well mean the end of our family unit. We first looked at options through the VA, but unfortunately, we were not offered any solutions that addressed his specific needs. We also explored recovery centers in Oklahoma, where we live, but most felt like sterile hospital environments and primarily focused on hard drug addictions. We were searching for something more personal, more therapeutic, and better suited to treating trauma alongside alcohol dependency. That is when I discovered Healing Pines Recovery in Elizabeth, Colorado. From my very first inquiry, I knew this place was different. Lindsay from Intake and Compliance contacted me almost immediately. She was incredibly compassionate, understanding, and reassuring during one of the most difficult times in our lives. Her kindness and professionalism helped calm many of my fears and gave me confidence that my husband would be in good hands. One of the things that stood out most about Healing Pines was its men's-only program and the fact that they intentionally limit the number of clients to just eight men at a time. This allows the staff to truly get to know each individual and dig deep into the work that is necessary for lasting healing and sobriety. The setting itself is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by Colorado's pine trees and stunning scenery, creating an atmosphere that promotes reflection, healing, and growth. While I cannot personally speak to the counselors my husband worked with every day, I can speak to the results. The difference in him is nothing short of remarkable. He came home with healthy coping skills for managing his PTSD, a renewed sense of purpose, and a commitment to living a sober life. He no longer relies on alcohol to manage his struggles, and he has built meaningful friendships with other men in recovery who continue to support one another. Another wonderful resource is Healing Pines' CRAFT program for loved ones. The virtual weekly meetings provide support, education, tools, and a safe place for family members to connect with others who understand the challenges of loving someone in recovery. It has been incredibly valuable for me as well. Most importantly, Healing Pines Recovery helped give my children their father back and gave me the husband I married back. For that, I will be forever grateful. If you are looking for a recovery program that treats the whole person—not just the addiction—and provides individualized care in a supportive, healing environment, Healing Pines Recovery is truly exceptional.

First, this is an amazing facility that words couldn’t even justify! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and patient with every situation! Especially, their therapist! Elissa was fantastic with every meeting and aided in any addition care! Would recommend this facility to anyone that is EVEN THINKING about getting sober! Last but not less, Scott handled every situation professionally, care, and compassion! 10/10 rating! -Anthony D from building D

My name is CJ and I am from Nebraska. Before Healing Pines, I was a shell of myself from using opiates and especially 7-OH. I was using just to feel normal, watching my life slip away—relationships destroyed and any hope I had left completely drained. I was too scared to live and too scared to die. I felt completely alone, like no one understood how deep it had gotten, and I honestly didn’t believe recovery was possible for someone like me anymore. What made Healing Pines different from day one was how personal everything felt. This isn’t a big institutional place where you’re just another intake number cycling through and endless . It’s a small, intimate program on a peaceful 40-acre ranch in Elizabeth, Colorado with wide-open views that calm your mind even on the hardest days. The fresh air, the quiet mornings, the cabin-style lodge, and the amazing gym—it all created this sense of safety I hadn’t felt in years. The emphasis on physical health was huge for me. Between playing pickleball , the amazing gym equipment, healthy meals and getting expert advice from a nutritionist...I started liking what I saw in the mirror for the first time in years. The staff genuinely changed everything for me. Paul and the whole team didn’t just follow a script—they took the time to really know my story, my triggers, and what I was carrying from back home in Nebraska. The amazing therapist worked with me one-on-one in ways that dug into the root causes, not just the surface addiction. Whether it was during those rough early moments, the group sessions where I finally opened up, or the outdoor activities that helped me reconnect with myself, they were right there with real compassion and zero judgment. They made me feel like a brother, not a patient. For the first time, I wasn’t rushing through a program—I was actually healing at my own pace. Healing Pines didn’t just get me clean. It rebuilt my hope from the ground up. I left with real tools, a clearer mind, stronger relationships with my family back in Omaha, a real community of like-minded people, and a sense of purpose I thought was gone forever. The brotherhood I built with the other guys there still keeps me going. If you’re stuck in the cycle with opiates, 7-OH, or anything that is stealing your time and happiness like I was, and you’re scared or skeptical—please give this place a real shot. It’s not magic, but it felt pretty close for me. Healing Pines Recovery saved my life in the most personal, caring way possible. I’m forever grateful.

The staff truly cares about their patients and provided care that met my needs. The whole program exceeded my expectations and I can't thank everyone enough for the impact they made on my life and mental health. Deciding to seek treatment was not an easy thing for me but I am so glad I chose Footprints to Recovery. It wasn't all just sitting around doing therapy all day and we got the chance to do yoga, art and music therapy, and also go outdoors with Adventure Recovery. If you are considering treatment I highly encourage you to invest in yourself and give Footprints a call!

Footprints was an absolutely stellar facility to go to after completing inpatient addiction treatment. The staff were all very patient and understanding during my biggest ups and downs during treatment, and I never felt any judgement even at my lowest points. Recovery is such a serious rock to carry but the groups and providers helped me collect the tools necessary to be able to tackle this journey on my own. The nursing team was incredibly helpful in finding me medications that are actually helping my mental health and addiction cravings. I've had more success in the three months I got to share with Footprints than the years I've worked with my primary care and therapist. Andrew with case management is hilarious and hugely helpful with resources and managing work and life alongside treatment. Anika is an incredible therapist and I am sad to leave her care, but know she will continue to do amazing things for other clients. If you are struggling with any substance abuse, I highly recommend seeking help with Footprints. They will absolutely get you back on your feet.

This place saved my life, in particular, the INCREDIBLE staff that talked me out of leaving early. Naj was an INCREDIBLY healing nurse, along with Amanda and Julie who stayed with me during my darkest period in my experience at this facility. I’d also like to express my gratitude for Brea, the case manager, for 1) being super sweet, and 2) setting me up with the after care I needed to maintain a successful journey in my sobriety. Finally, the executive director Scott, was an amazing person that shared tons of personal experience, wisdom, and warm kindness. Any of the staff that was not mentioned above are still GREATLY appreciated and I recommend this place because all of them. Thank you for saving my life Banyan 💛

I went here two years ago and I still miss sometimes when life gets hard and it was an amazing program. The thing I liked about NDF was that if you want to be successful in recovery they don’t baby you but they also treat you like a person. every session and handout was different, interesting, and helped me learn more about my disease, helping me heal. The staff put a lot of time and energy into giving a shit about my success in recovery, if you care about yourself your family and your future they will help you and they don’t forget you when you leave. They have an alumni program that is getting off the ground but is the best part of my week that I have for myself as a mom I really need that. I owe my life to the caring of these people!!!

I had a great experience at HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge. From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about providing excellent patient care. The doctors, nurses, and support staff were attentive, compassionate, and took the time to answer questions and make me feel comfortable throughout my visit. The level of care and support I received was exceptional, and it was clear that patient well-being is a top priority here. The facility is clean, modern, and well-maintained. One thing that really stood out was the convenience of having a great cafeteria and a Starbucks right inside the building. It made a stressful situation much more comfortable for both patients and visitors. I highly recommend HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge to anyone looking for high-quality healthcare and outstanding customer service.

I was sent here 7 years ago during a difficult moment in my past life. I didn’t have any particular problems at the facility at all. Was sent against my will from Swedish medical center. The food wasn’t great but, gushers and fruit snacks were available all the time that was my favorite part, my comfort food thank you. You could smoke cigarettes, and have your phone back then. Possibly still now I don’t know. I didn’t participate in any of the group sessions, but It was a reset for sure, no complaints besides the horrible food. 🍱 I would like to speak to the old doctor who asked me about my childhood emdr, I need to speak to him. How can I contact him? Just a phone call. He is the doctor who tells people they can’t leave until he says so. Minimum 3 days but up to 2 weeks. I need to tell him thank you and I need answers to my questions.

Our experience was very positive. My 14 year old daughter arrived to Sandstone after many other attempts at recovery. While there were quite a few instances of her causing the same issues as she would at home, the staff was very understanding, patient, and communicative. Nurses and other staff would call us often with updates on everything, which was amazing. They could always answer questions I had, and helped us feel like our daughter was genuinely being cared for. The only 2 things I’d have a complaint about, is the multi-family sessions and the family therapist we were assigned. The multi-family sessions are there for family members to gather for 2 hours every week to talk about things the kids are working on, and share experiences as their family. The sessions are somewhat required, and I’m a very introverted person, so I did not find them helpful at all. They were more of an inconvenience, because I process things on my own, and most of the time one or two family members will end up talking the whole time. Also, the family therapist we were assigned to was great as a person, nice guy, but seemed like he had absolutely no therapy experience. Would often just sit and say “hmm” during our sessions, and I often had to explain things it seemed like he just couldn’t articulate. I would have preferred a lot more feedback and involvement in general, especially if family dynamics were an issue upon admission. Despite these things, our daughter returned home about a week ago and so far has been so much happier and better at regulating her emotions. I’m very happy with our experience and I hope the changes are lasting.

I have nothing but positive thoughts and love for Step Seven. I have been apart of the community for 15 months now and I can honestly say God and Step Seven saved my life. I was in a bad place and bad shape and didn’t think help existed. I gave the director a call when I got out of prison and was in a home that night. Over the 15 months I have watched my life transform. I have restored relationships, I have built a true foundation, I have real brothers who have my back, I am a brand new man. It’s not only me that this change has happened too. I’ve seen handfuls of men change their lives for the best here and I can say firsthand God loves Step Seven cause the stories I’ve witnessed of where people were to where they are now is nothing short of amazing. If you want to change your life it’s not too late and you can be freed from your addictions through the help of Step Seven.

This program changed my life. It was one hell of a journey and a struggle for me in sobriety for a long time in the program for over a year. I was angry, hopeless, and full of fear but the counselors and the others around me and the people at cornerstone saw something me that I didn’t see in myself, hope. They never gave up on me, had SO much love and patience for me even after the many times I took everything for granted and should have been told to leave and never to come back. They continued to have my back and without all my peers and the counselors continuous support I would have never made it to where I am now In my recovery. I’ve found comfort in my own skin, I’m okay with feeling my emotions, I longer feel like I’m surviving but instead I feel alive, I’ve gained a lot of confidence within, I am happy, and I love my life again and I never thought I would ever gain what I’ve gained through recovery without using drugs. I’m so grateful for what cornerstone has done for me and continue to do so.

I find just reviewing these people comments they think they are pissed they didn't get what they wanted, they are not pill mills. They are not that type of doctors office. I have been on the same meds the entire time I have been there and they have kept my scripts with a monthly follow up. I highly recommend and plan to never leave this office. Staff is blunt but not rude neither , is Dr.Warren. A++. All of them are on the ball, just be real with them and they will be real with you. I am not a employee, just telling people give them a chance and understand how to navigate the telehealth and video visits. Don't miss appointments, they extremely mindful and they always aware of who with Healow compass portal and it directs you call in to higher up or people that your number is flagged based on the priority status and urgency. This is an amazing solution filled meeting hall! What I learned although, there is a wolf in sheep's clothing (Kevin)! He has a long white beard. By all means, STAY AWAY FROM HIM! It's rare that I meet someone who thinks they are their own God like this man. God Bless you in your recovery.

This is the best place I have ever gone for Alcohol Education and treatment all thanks to one of the counselors here! His name is Doc and he teaches one of the classes each week. So if you need to finish alcohol education and treatment come here and ask for Doc to be your counselor. He does handwriting analysis and tells you all about your life from your signature! Coolest counselor I have ever met!
