Peaks will forever hold a place in my heart. If you are looking for help with depression, addiction, alcoholism, trauma, anxiety, body image issues… you name it. This is the place that will not only help you, they will LOVE you through it! From the moment I called, I felt loved and cared for. Angela - You are an Angel! Angela kept in contact with me several times a day until I was on a plane to CO. As soon as I got there, Katie picked me up from the airport, she was a doll! She made me feel so comfortable going in. I met with a few staff members, and stayed in “detox” for 2 days. When I first got to the Women’s house, I met Miss. Pat - She’s the most incredible woman I’ve ever met. I’ll never forget her. EVER. I went in for Trauma and Depression. Within 7-10 days, I could tell my life was changing. I had never felt this good in my life. Chris, Bobbie, and his team hired a staff that is like nothing I would have ever imagined. From the Director (Sara), Doctors, Therapists/Counselors (Kate, Madi, Shayna, Sam), PA’s (Alyson), Gym Instructors (Nicole and Dan), my caseworker, Tyler, the chef, Taylor, and the staff (Miss. Pat, Cassie, Leah, Kayla, Mariano, Julie, and Cheyanne), - They are all AMAZING! Everyone has a heart of gold! Each week in group they discuss a topic. The topics discussed are LIFE CHANGING! There are things in life that you think you know, you don’t. I learned so much in group and I’ll hold onto that info for life. I also met with my Therapist/Counselor Kate, 2-3x a week. Kate is part of the reason I am who I am today. ❤️ I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a place that will truly save your life, Peaks is where you want to go. I promise you. ❤️ Love, hugs, & Prayers for anyone taking the time to read this. I believe in you! Make the call! Much love!❤️ *****Edit - In the last 3 years I’ve had a few people reach out to me and ask questions. If you are struggling on making a decision and want to speak with someone, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via facebook messenger. I would love to help you in your journey to getting better. ❤️*****

Sandstone Care took my Sister in with open arms of kindness, grace and gave her a sense of peace she hasn't had in a very long time. The care she received will reveal itself in time. She did a 21 day detox and has proclaimed to never go back to bondage again! My prayers are that the Lord keeps her close to Him and that her words manifest. We are expecting greater, In the Name of Jesus! Thank you very much for taking good care of my Sister for the time you had her. I pray your facility continues to serve and lead precious souls to the light! 🙏🏽

This place saved my life, in particular, the INCREDIBLE staff that talked me out of leaving early. Naj was an INCREDIBLY healing nurse, along with Amanda and Julie who stayed with me during my darkest period in my experience at this facility. I’d also like to express my gratitude for Brea, the case manager, for 1) being super sweet, and 2) setting me up with the after care I needed to maintain a successful journey in my sobriety. Finally, the executive director Scott, was an amazing person that shared tons of personal experience, wisdom, and warm kindness. Any of the staff that was not mentioned above are still GREATLY appreciated and I recommend this place because all of them. Thank you for saving my life Banyan 💛

Healing Pines Recovery is located in Elizabeth, Colorado close to both Elbert and Douglas Counties. They use evidence-based, holistic and experiential methods that they believe are critical to sobriety and long-term recovery. One of their main points of focus is on helping clients learn to accept, process and communicate emotions. They exclusively
Healing Pines Recovery truly gave our family a second chance, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. My husband entered Healing Pines Recovery suffering from complex PTSD caused by both childhood trauma and 31 years of military service. Like many veterans, he had turned to alcohol as a way to cope with the pain. By the time we started searching for help, our family was at a breaking point. We knew that if he didn't receive intensive treatment, it could very well mean the end of our family unit. We first looked at options through the VA, but unfortunately, we were not offered any solutions that addressed his specific needs. We also explored recovery centers in Oklahoma, where we live, but most felt like sterile hospital environments and primarily focused on hard drug addictions. We were searching for something more personal, more therapeutic, and better suited to treating trauma alongside alcohol dependency. That is when I discovered Healing Pines Recovery in Elizabeth, Colorado. From my very first inquiry, I knew this place was different. Lindsay from Intake and Compliance contacted me almost immediately. She was incredibly compassionate, understanding, and reassuring during one of the most difficult times in our lives. Her kindness and professionalism helped calm many of my fears and gave me confidence that my husband would be in good hands. One of the things that stood out most about Healing Pines was its men's-only program and the fact that they intentionally limit the number of clients to just eight men at a time. This allows the staff to truly get to know each individual and dig deep into the work that is necessary for lasting healing and sobriety. The setting itself is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by Colorado's pine trees and stunning scenery, creating an atmosphere that promotes reflection, healing, and growth. While I cannot personally speak to the counselors my husband worked with every day, I can speak to the results. The difference in him is nothing short of remarkable. He came home with healthy coping skills for managing his PTSD, a renewed sense of purpose, and a commitment to living a sober life. He no longer relies on alcohol to manage his struggles, and he has built meaningful friendships with other men in recovery who continue to support one another. Another wonderful resource is Healing Pines' CRAFT program for loved ones. The virtual weekly meetings provide support, education, tools, and a safe place for family members to connect with others who understand the challenges of loving someone in recovery. It has been incredibly valuable for me as well. Most importantly, Healing Pines Recovery helped give my children their father back and gave me the husband I married back. For that, I will be forever grateful. If you are looking for a recovery program that treats the whole person—not just the addiction—and provides individualized care in a supportive, healing environment, Healing Pines Recovery is truly exceptional.

My name is CJ and I am from Nebraska. Before Healing Pines, I was a shell of myself from using opiates and especially 7-OH. I was using just to feel normal, watching my life slip away—relationships destroyed and any hope I had left completely drained. I was too scared to live and too scared to die. I felt completely alone, like no one understood how deep it had gotten, and I honestly didn’t believe recovery was possible for someone like me anymore. What made Healing Pines different from day one was how personal everything felt. This isn’t a big institutional place where you’re just another intake number cycling through and endless . It’s a small, intimate program on a peaceful 40-acre ranch in Elizabeth, Colorado with wide-open views that calm your mind even on the hardest days. The fresh air, the quiet mornings, the cabin-style lodge, and the amazing gym—it all created this sense of safety I hadn’t felt in years. The emphasis on physical health was huge for me. Between playing pickleball , the amazing gym equipment, healthy meals and getting expert advice from a nutritionist...I started liking what I saw in the mirror for the first time in years. The staff genuinely changed everything for me. Paul and the whole team didn’t just follow a script—they took the time to really know my story, my triggers, and what I was carrying from back home in Nebraska. The amazing therapist worked with me one-on-one in ways that dug into the root causes, not just the surface addiction. Whether it was during those rough early moments, the group sessions where I finally opened up, or the outdoor activities that helped me reconnect with myself, they were right there with real compassion and zero judgment. They made me feel like a brother, not a patient. For the first time, I wasn’t rushing through a program—I was actually healing at my own pace. Healing Pines didn’t just get me clean. It rebuilt my hope from the ground up. I left with real tools, a clearer mind, stronger relationships with my family back in Omaha, a real community of like-minded people, and a sense of purpose I thought was gone forever. The brotherhood I built with the other guys there still keeps me going. If you’re stuck in the cycle with opiates, 7-OH, or anything that is stealing your time and happiness like I was, and you’re scared or skeptical—please give this place a real shot. It’s not magic, but it felt pretty close for me. Healing Pines Recovery saved my life in the most personal, caring way possible. I’m forever grateful.

My therapy session is with Vernon to help with my PTSD. Vernon is a very good Therapist and I appreciate the short time spent with him every few weeks. I would recommend him to anyone. I have been diagnosed with PTSD by two physchiatrists. In the past year. I had to be interviewed for 30 to 45 minutes by a paid psychiatrist, paid by Meadowlake Airport Association because the president of the association tried to run me over and kill me on my property. During mediation he told the judge I do NOT have PTSD. I guess my nightmares for the past four years, every night of the incident must be a figment of my imagination. Funny how money can change a diagnosis. Vernon listens to me and gives me ideas to help. Recently I was told by my Orthopedic Surgeon that, after four surgeries, there was nothing else that could be done. So now I am crippled for life. Adds to my problems.

My son is at day 30/60 and he is definitely learning a lot. I think the online sessions, phone updates and emails plus online sessions, help parents who are navigating substance issues with their teen. My son went in thinking it'd be horrible, but he hasn't been complaining, and I know he's becoming more equipped with coping skills and learning more about why he is the way he is. I like how they focus on communicating for success, for both child and parent. Very thankful for the huge effort staff gives. I highly recommend Sandstone for your teen if you feel completely broken and lost with helping your child. Plus it does give you a moment to breathe knowing your child is safe. Counselors can see through the mask, and they know how to dive deeper into issues. They are absolutely in tune with your Ins, probation and counselors from home, so you feel very supported from all angles.

From the time that I entered and the time I left they were very supportive catered to my every need and helped me as much as they could. They even called to check up on me after my visit which is likely more than I deserve. I appreciated their time and energy spent on me every step of the way. As someone who worked alongside the Crisis Response Team with the police department, I can personally say that Diversus Health Lighthouse Walk-in Crisis Center has been an incredibly important resource in our community. Many times, we brought individuals here who were experiencing severe mental health crises, suicidal thoughts, emotional trauma, or situations where they simply did not know where else to turn. The staff consistently welcomed people with compassion, dignity, patience, and professionalism while helping guide them toward a safer and more stable place both mentally and physically. Mental health crises can feel terrifying and isolating, and sometimes people truly feel like they are at the end of their rope. This is one of the organizations in our community that people can turn to for real help and support. They have dedicated professionals who genuinely care about helping individuals and families navigate crisis situations safely. I also appreciate that they offer walk-in options and work to help people navigate payment concerns and accommodations when finances are a barrier. Please do not let fear, stigma, or money stop you from reaching out for help if you need it. Thank you to the professionals here for the difficult and meaningful work you do for our community every single day.

The staff here are A+. Even from the intake subs to the clinicians and nurses. I'm so thankful to have met Graham, Don, Linelle, Meredith, and Chris. They really are great people. From my walk-in to treatment plan they helped me so much. Don and Linelle even went out of their way and time to call to check up on me, and even though they have no stock in my life it feels good to be checked on. On my way out they offered me a ride home and though it was in a van with a stranger, Chris made me feel comfortable and accepted by treating me as a real human even though I was going through trauma. My only criticism is they didn't tell me where I could get a hug. I wish I could find a hug. 🫤

I am so thankful for help that Sandstone Care provided for my daughter and the support for me and my husband through parent support meetings and family counseling. I couldn't believe we found a program out there such as Sandstone that provided intensive therapy to help my daughter. Everyone was nice to work with and the staff communication was excellent. They kept us informed how our daughter was doing and responded quickly to our questions. Hoping we can continue the good work started now that she is home.

This was my first time being put into care like this, and let me just say the experience was not what i was expecting. The staff was kind, just very busy. On day of my check out it took them an extra 4 hours to discharge me. Not a huge deal. And multiple times activities/group were written on the schedule but we were never given the chance to do it cause the staff had their hands full. The food was so good and plentiful, always had snacks available and the meals were filling! The best part was the people. Through this process I met some amazing people in there that helped me see things differently amd realize new things about myself. I wish every single one of them the best. If you are looking to go some where voluntary, this place is a great choice.

I have been going back to the VA for help for PTSD. The past few months everytime that I have gone to my appointments. The front desk Jocelynn, Adrienne and Elisabeth were all super sweet, super helpful and extremely professional. Libby Craig who I worked with on a personal level behind the scenes was awesome and she really helped me a lot through my PTSD. She helped me with tools to focus with when life comes at me on how to cope and be equipped to handle life. I truly appreciate the experiences at this clinic. Thank you!!

The entire staff of A New Hope Counseling is beyond professional and really treats you like family. They truly do care about your health (mentally and physically) but care even more about your sobriety afterwards. With multiple options and flexible times to come back whether it be for serious help, someone to talk to, or just to pop in and say hi because sometimes that is all you need. They all have been quite literally lifesavers for myself and I know many others feel the same. I don't normally play favorites but Reena is the kindest most caring person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting with. Without her and her staff I have no clue where I would be nowadays. I would highly recommend A New Hope Counseling to anyone looking for support with maintaining their sobriety or looking for positive outcome with anything that is court ordered. I would even give them bonus points for having very competitive fees, that is if for some odd reason they won't work with your insurance. I give them an overall 15/10!

Our experience was very positive. My 14 year old daughter arrived to Sandstone after many other attempts at recovery. While there were quite a few instances of her causing the same issues as she would at home, the staff was very understanding, patient, and communicative. Nurses and other staff would call us often with updates on everything, which was amazing. They could always answer questions I had, and helped us feel like our daughter was genuinely being cared for. The only 2 things I’d have a complaint about, is the multi-family sessions and the family therapist we were assigned. The multi-family sessions are there for family members to gather for 2 hours every week to talk about things the kids are working on, and share experiences as their family. The sessions are somewhat required, and I’m a very introverted person, so I did not find them helpful at all. They were more of an inconvenience, because I process things on my own, and most of the time one or two family members will end up talking the whole time. Also, the family therapist we were assigned to was great as a person, nice guy, but seemed like he had absolutely no therapy experience. Would often just sit and say “hmm” during our sessions, and I often had to explain things it seemed like he just couldn’t articulate. I would have preferred a lot more feedback and involvement in general, especially if family dynamics were an issue upon admission. Despite these things, our daughter returned home about a week ago and so far has been so much happier and better at regulating her emotions. I’m very happy with our experience and I hope the changes are lasting.
