I fell on some hard times, and became a slave to the drink. The staff here at GCC welcomed me with open arms and embraced me in my time of need. They were all very helpful and genuinely concerned about my detox and recovery. I was supplied with a comfortable bed in a dorm room, a hot shower, and three daily meals, along with necessary medication to mitigate withdrawal symptoms and a daily consultation with a doctor. They also encouraged all of us to attend AA meetings held in the facility, and offered advice on where to go after my departure. This place was a godsend for me!

Professional Psychiatrists and staff who actively listen to your questions. Educated, experienced staff who have many resources available for a broad age range of clients.
You feel your information is kept private and confidential. My psychotherapist has a great sense of humor and I feel free to share any of my issues, without judgement. However, they could desperately use waiting room magazines from this century. 😉

First off, the all staff were nice and friendly.
Food was fantastic 5 star chef, nurse's on site 247 techs also. It's on the water, you can fish. Get massages or acupuncture. They really make you feel like home. Aa na meetings daily. I have nothing negative to say about summer house detox, the best in south Florida hands down

This is the best detox center by far! The staff is amazing! They genuinely care. It’s a very relaxed comfortable place. I would recommend this to anyone that is struggling with alcoholism/addiction. It truly is an amazing place! Not a bad word to say about this place!

My experience at Summer House was incredible! The staff were so kind and attentive — they really made me feel cared for from the moment I arrived. The beds… oh my gosh, like sleeping on clouds! And the food? Wow. It honestly felt like eating at a restaurant every day, from breakfast to dinner.
The nurses truly care about your health, and the therapists put so much heart into helping you heal mentally and emotionally. I’ve never felt so safe or supported in any detox before.
I would recommend Summer House to anyone who needs help. Thank you, Summer House — you truly saved my life and helped me start fresh on my journey to recovery.

Transitions literally saved my life. It’s like no other rehab I’ve ever been at before, I’ve been to over 20 different rehabs and this one will definitely be my last lol. The staff here treat you like family and really care about you here. The outings were always so much fun, the groups were great, and I love how it’s a reality based program. 10/10 if you are thinking about coming here do it. Unfortunately I've struggled a few times and I'm fighting each day. South Beach Recovery has been the biggest surprise and support system for me still. Rachelle, amazing admin, The staff, nurses and doctors take their time with you, and are so friendly, kind and make you feel comfortable. The beds are super cozy and clean. The food is excellent and that staff is amazing as well. Patricia has been like a second mom to me and goes outta her way to make sure everyone is taken care of. All of the staff are caring, great sense of humor and believe me you will be fed! Highly recommend this facility for detox to anyone looking for more than just detox but to feel and know you're a priority and treated like one!! ❤️ Dave

Great place the beds are comfy the food is good and the staff are excellent. The techs are awesome and make the detox process easy. Especially the 2 Jose's. Theres on 1st shift and one on second. I had a follow-up appointment with Dr Robert Goldberg. As usual, Dr Goldberg is excellent: thorough, detail-oriented, looks through my entire electronic chart, asks me relevant questions about my health in general, offers suggestions as to improve my health and, lastly, explains the treatment involved, showing me pictures of my last tests. He just couldn’t be nicer. The medical assistant who took the vitals was also very nice and professional. Her name is Shena Davis and she is a floater. Lizette Alberti, the scheduler was very informative and accommodating. This team is excellent.

It's a combination of all different departments of this program that were very helpful to me along the way into my new journey to a better way of life. At Clinical, Therapists put their heart into making sure to help you unlock what started it all, classes give you knowledge on your mental state, what brings you to your rock bottom or this sick cycle of addiction. Back at housing was surrounding yourself with the people who really want to get help and are not shy to sit down and share their stories with you and relate with you on different levels. Techs are down to earth so it makes it easier for you to vent what's going on with you at the moment but blunt /real enough to help you decompress and snap out of whatever you're going through at that moment. All staff genuinely want you to grow and live life on life terms and become who you were suppose to be without the use of drugs. Heidi is the Bomb! I love her to death, to see her be there for everyone. The heart she has for helping people in this fellowship and newcomers at Comfort is one of a kind! I'm grateful to have her in my life, someone you could look up to, no matter what!

This place is very professional and confidential. I took my teenager daughter for addiction, depression and anxiety. Even though there is not magic solution and you have to work really hard at home, we improved a lot in communication and I learned a lot in the way. I brought my brother in for a psychiatric evaluation and stabilization, and he was at Larkin for 3 weeks. The medical and psychiatric care and service was even better than I had hoped, and I found that the role of Larkin as a teaching hospital meant that the Doctors in Training (residents) took a high level of interest and provided outstanding levels of care. Communication was outstanding, as all of my calls were returned by Drs who had personally examined and/or diagnosed, and they kept me up to date on all phases of his treatment and recovery.
The only 'negative' was the seeming lack of communication between the different departments, as I found myself repeating the background, history, and proposed discharge strategy, only to have to repeat it to the next person I spoke with. I finally met the care team during a visit, and after making the 'personal connection', this was corrected.

Tuve problemas de parqueo ya que el mismo estaba súper lleno, pero hubo una información de que uno se puede parquear en una cuadra que se llama new paper. Luego adentro hemos esperado mucho tiempo para un procedimiento de Colonoscopia de mi esposo, llegamos tempranito y aún estamos a la espera. El que venga que traiga merienda para la espera. El café estaba frío. Pero cabe resaltar que el personal es profesional y atento. Reporte el café y me resolvieron, reporte el frío y me resolvieron, el parqueo me dieron la opción cuando está lleno. Lo único fue la espera que no se pudo resolver. Pero el hospital muy limpio. Lo recomiendo a pesar de las adversidades.

Ok, the communication can be poor when you have to call, some staff are not always as polite as the could be. But I came to Banyan at rock bottom, with nothing to compensate them. Today I am 1 year sober. I am still rebuilding my life, but without Banyan Healthcare MAT program I would be dead, in prison, or best case scenario, homeless.

I'm not a protected veteran but God sent me to this hospital last Sunday when I was struggling with suicidal thoughs, and I was lost in the middle of the night looking for the mental crisis emergency entrance. Long story short this hospital team saved my life and I will always appreciate that they did. Specially the brilliant psychiatrist resident Alexandra Coppa. She made me think about my wrong mindset and safe my life forever. Specially when I was at the Government center metrorail station with no place to go... Right now thanks to Los hermanos de la calle I'm save in Miami Beach and writing this review while I look at the sunset at the Marina and think of my coming challenges, and alive thanks to you. The last time I was admitted to a hospital was June 24,1966. 93rd medevac in Vietnam. Last week I had the pleasure of spending two days at WPB VA Hospital and two days at Miami VA Hospital. I really can not say enough about how great both these hospitals are. The staff at Miami is so friendly and professional but most of all they care. My nurses Ronald , Kelsey , and Yumi were always there. Ronald lent me his charger and was always joking. A whirlwind in and out of my room fixing problems. Kelsey explained everything to me and helped me to understand me understand the system along with a great sense of humor. The most patient person I have ever met with a great eye roll. Yumi helped me with the check out and was like a whirl wind constantly in and out of my room checking on me.
The doctors and nurses in the cardiac unit are very professional, friendly and really care. I really felt that it was going to be my time but the tests results were great. The room where they went up my veins is really cool. It is so organized and runs so smoothly they must practice. I had lost 1/4 of the blood in my body and was very weak. after being told I had no heart disease but just needed a valve replaced. It was really great to be awake listening to the procedure .
The nurse assistants are so caring and always there. The cleaning staff works so hard.
Thank you Miami VA hospital for having such outstanding employees who really care.

There are moments in life when words simply aren’t enough—and this is one of them. Our family will forever hold a special place in our hearts for Southern Winds Hospital and every single person who walked alongside us during one of the most painful and uncertain times in our lives.
After our beloved father suffered a brain stroke, worsened by arthritis in his neck, he developed dementia. We were devastated, unsure of what the future would hold, and feeling lost. But from the moment he arrived at Southern Winds, we were embraced by a team whose compassion, dedication, and humanity gave us something we thought we had lost—hope.
From the front desk staff who greeted us with warmth and friendly smiles, to the security team who made us laugh with gentle jokes—knowing our hearts were hurting—every interaction brought comfort. The cleaning crew, nurse technicians, and every staff member who passed by us made sure we were okay. They didn’t just care for our father—they cared for us, the family, with genuine kindness.
Every day, our father was bathed, shaved, and dressed in clean, regular clothes. He smelled fresh, looked peaceful, and was clearly being cared for with love and dignity. These small but powerful gestures reminded us that he was being treated not just as a patient, but as someone deeply valued.
We especially want to thank Social Worker Ernesto, whose guidance and support were a lifeline. Ernesto took the time to explain everything clearly, helping us understand the steps needed to bring our father back home. He was patient, compassionate, and truly committed to our father’s well-being. Alongside Ernesto, the physician assistant, nurses, caregivers and the doctors treated our father as if he were their own father or grandfather—with tenderness, respect, and unwavering care.
The medical team kept us informed every single day, calling us with updates and making sure we felt involved and reassured. Their dedication went far beyond duty—it was personal, and it meant the world to us.
If we could list every single name of the staff members who touched our hearts, we would end up writing a book. That’s how many people made a difference. From the smallest gestures to the most critical decisions, every act of care mattered.
