When I came to the Women's Refuge, I was at the end of my rope holding on for dear life. Through the Biblical counseling, support groups and the unconditional love demonstrated by the entire staff, I was able to receive healing from my past. I have been going here for 9yrs now, the last 2 have been seeing acute psychologist, Aerial, and another psychologist named Geri, both have helped me deal with a lot of mental health issues, my primary care dr was Dr. Brown, now I have Dr.O'Meara, she is good too. Would have given 5 stars but have had some issues making appts. Otherwise everyone is great there.

Our community is so blessed to have a place like Hibiscus. As a volunteer of many years there, I've seen so many youth who have received so much support and extra help preparing for adult life. Florida has so many fantastic benefits for foster kids, including for when they reach age 18-21 and move on from Hibiscus. By then they've had a chance process, heal, and also have had the opportunity to work, to build their resumes, have some savings, etc. But places like this don't come to exist automatically, it was founded by many concerned citizens to be a place of refuge for our youth. Thank God for Hibiscus and all the dedicated staff who make all this possible to help so many get on their feet.

Kids need a safe place to live and grow. While his/her home life may not have been perfect and ended up here, the staff on hand have tried to give each child here just that. Even if you are not up to the challenge of being a foster parent donate what you can to let our childern ( yes I said our childern, because I community raises a child) know someone is there for him/her unconditionally even if he/she has been so hurt and pushes back.

I have been using NH in Vero for over a year now. There was only one time they had a miscommunication on who had checked me in, and I wasn't, so I sat for 45 minutes. But besides that I'm so grateful for them, they aren't bubbly people by any means but, serious. Because mental health is serious and can be very challenging for both parties. I think of them all as angels.

I can’t say enough about the incredible care and compassion Mark showed during my relative’s admission process at Port St. Lucie Hospital. From the very first phone call, he went above and beyond to make sure every detail was handled smoothly and that our family felt informed and supported every step of the way.
Mark took extra time to answer all of our questions, explained what to expect, and made sure my relative was comfortable and at ease during what could have been a stressful time. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine concern for his patients and their families truly stood out.
It’s rare to meet someone who combines efficiency with such empathy — but Mark does just that. He made sure every need was not only met but exceeded. Our family is so grateful for his dedication and care.

I just graduated from Miracles’ Intensive Outpatient Program last Friday and I have nothing but praise for the treatment center and staff. I began my journey at Miracles on May 9 after two weeks in a detox. I began in their PHP program, completed the recommended four weeks, and expected to maybe stay a month or two in IOP. Once I arrived at Miracles; however, I felt like it was where I was meant to be. I have completed a few other PHPs, but none before Miracles did I even start, let alone complete, IOP. I wanted to stay in Miracles IOP and sober living longer than the average stay, and was able to work with my therapist to have my time in the program extended more than one time. In all, I was at Miracles for five months. I was able to learn from the treatment program, attend outside meetings, find a sponsor and work the steps all while living in Freedom Housing with affordable weekly rent. I am also currently reliant on crutches to walk or get around at all, and they were accommodating to my physical disability. I was able to stay on my medications for mental health and substance abuse with regular visits with a medical provider. I finally felt “at home” living and attending treatment with Miracles. I am forever grateful for my time in the program and everyone who helped me during my extended time there. I would highly recommend Miracles for someone who has completed detox/residential treatment and is ready to get serious about their sobriety and recovery. Along with clinical staff, I would also like to mention how amazing Eric and Shanell are at their jobs and going above and beyond the call of duty helping those of us in recovery.

Eric, the housing director, has been incredibly helpful and compassionate, making sure she feels safe and comfortable in her living situation. Derek, on the business development team, took the time to walk us through everything and made the whole process so much easier. And Stephanie, her case manager, has been such a blessing — always checking in, truly listening, and guiding her every step of the way.

So greatful for there patience with me because was going back and forth a month just dying to get help. Once I finnally made it in they were very kind patient and got me in and out in 4 hours with intake and screening to first dosage.. I plan on using this program as long as I need until I succeed but feel I made it the right place once and for all. Thankyou guys. I’ve been going here for over 4 years and my counselor was initially very difficult to deal with. Since things have changed for the better thanks Tiffany and I now get my 2 weeks of take homes as I should. I hope to continue treatment. Methadone has an unnecessary stigma and is a recommended option for help with pain management or withdrawal symptoms.

I contacted Chaute re: learned behavior my toddler picked up in a former daycare. She listened, digested, and created a plan of action for my kiddo. Within a few days, Chaute was in my son's preschool class observing and using techniques that helped him overcome the negative behavior he had picked up within a matter of a few weeks. Being in therapy saved my life. I truly get a lot out of every session. I love learning. I have changed drastically in a positive way. It’s like wearing a tool belt and having that tool readily accessible. Having the knowledge to calm myself with a familiar pattern is helpful. I know what to do if my depression starts creeping in on me for example. I don’t sit in a funk as long as I used to and most of the time I know how to get out of it. I will be suing this facility for not allowing my MEDICAL ALERT service dog to come with me. That is ILLEGAL if the disabled handler is able to provide all care including a dog walker. ILLEGAL!! The psychiatrist was also extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate, and within 10 seconds of meeting me, he tells me that I am in fact, “not autistic.” Which is proven wrong by all the testing I’ve had. This facility needs shut down. The staff don’t care, constantly make fun of you, scream at you when you have a medical problem and to go back to your room, and the violence was out of control. Expect to lose tons of money on the next law suit!!!!

I have been using the peace river crisis hotline for years, but since the pandemic started I've been in crisis more times than I can count. Thus leading me to calling the crisis hotline to get aid in managing a panic attack or crisis situation, in between my therapy appointments
Apparently ALOT of other people are in need of help as well, because every time I try to call the crisis hotline at night on weekends and weekdays, since the pandemic started, the line just rings and rings. It's nearly impossible to reach someone. When u eventually do reach someone, they hurry off the phone to answer another call, often at times before your crisis situation is improved.
Can you hire more staff please?! Surely enough people are needing mental health help right now to justify the cost of a extra person or 2 answering the crisis hotline calls.
