Gateway has been very accommodating to my needs, and helping me access the things that I need to be a better, healthier me. The services and the employees here are great! Everybody is kind, compassionate, empathetic, and helpful. I can truly say that the people here go above and beyond for their community. I use their transportation services to get to and from and appointments, and in this county, I think that's a great service that they have. All in all, superb mental health services, superb substance abuse services, superb care! I could go in having the worst day of my life, and weights are lifted off my shoulder just by walking in and being greeted by the front office staff and I always leave feeling a little lighter than when I walked in.

Jacksonville, FL | Lakeview Health is a Joint Commission accredited, private rehab in Jacksonville, Florida. Adult men and women can participate in a specialized continuum of care for addiction, dual diagnosis, eating disorders and | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was just bragging about Lakeview and pointing a friend in this direction, and i was shocked to see even one negative review.
Lakeview was amazing, it saved my life. It felt like a vacation, Its practically a health resort. It was so peaceful and serene. I felt I was cared about when cared for, I felt like they were actually invested in my recovery rather than feeling like a number. From the nurses to the blue-shirts, the therapists, the kitchen staff... everyone was so nice and supportive.
The food was amazing, honestly. The pool was nice, gym was immaculate. Yoga instructors were awesome. We went for surfing lessons, went out to a horse farm to pet and feed some little horses. You have a massage therapist come in, and someone to come in for haircuts. Theres even a little zen meditation room. The lake on the men's side is full of life, little ducks and geese, big bass and turtles you can feed - although I don't think you're supposed to, anyways. The facility is nice, its got a real pretty view, good food, great staff. I cant imagine how they could go wrong.
If I had to complain, the apartments, the PHP after the inpatient - the last period before you graduate... the apartments kind of sucked, but the comradery, the fellowship there.. it was a great place to transition back into the real world. And the girl at the window that took the cigarette and vape orders seemed like she was always having a bad day... but still. This place is amazing.
I love Lakeview. I brag about my experience there. I highly recommend it.

I was a patient at Lakeview from October 20, 2002, to November 19, 2002. I was there during Lakeview's infancy, when there was only one building, a couple of picnic tables, a basketball hoop and a beat up volleyball net. I can tell you, with great conviction, their program works.
Lakeview gave me the tools I needed to learn how to live a sober life. I still use those tools today, and I have been sober for just over 23 years now. I wish I could come down there and speak to the people currently residing there and tell them it's possible to turn theirs lives around. I am living proof of that,
Thank you, Lakeview.

I didn’t always agree with how everything was run, but overall the program was truly worthwhile and helped me tremendously. The therapists were exceptional, and I credit them—along with other staff members—for my engagement and my desire to fully commit to and benefit from my time there.
The programming was a major strength, especially the medical sessions led by doctors and nurses, as well as the psychotherapy sessions led by trained therapists. These were pivotal to my success. They also offer nightly 12‑step meetings, typically hosted by outside groups such as AA and NA, which added meaningful support.
The living arrangements exceeded my expectations. The dorm room was comfortable (the beds were genuinely great), the food was very good with a wide variety of options every day, and there was a healthy balance of structured programming and downtime for reading, homework, movies, and rest.
One thing that particularly impressed me was their weekly Town Hall, where patients can openly raise concerns, complaints, suggestions, and compliments directly with leadership, including the CEO, Clinical Director, Nursing, Maintenance, and BHTs. While the facility is clearly short‑staffed, I never once felt unsafe or discouraged from voicing my concerns. Some of the rules could be frustrating, but they are clearly in place for patient safety.
I am 44 days sober today. When I arrived, I was angry at the world, ready to leave AMA, and intent on drinking myself to death. I left with a powerful desire to live and to continue doing the next right thing to stay grounded in my recovery. Stepping Stone—especially my individual therapist and the classes—saved my life. I will be forever grateful.

The perfect place to go for help
Scary at first (not gonna lie)
Everyone including current patients and staff are very supportive
It is a safe place to get your life back in order
They even have aftercare (out patients) to continue to build back your self confidence and help you work on your problems
For some reason they are currently rated 3.0 (NOT TRUE)
They have rules that seem funny but they are for safety for everyone
Bring warm clothes if you get cold easily
Bring a book you might be interested in or puzzle books (soft cover)
If you smoke they provide patches and gum
Write down phone numbers if you want to call someone
Be polite to everyone. Treat them how you want to be treated
You will get through the program!!! And feel much better

I was admitted to the adolescent ward a few weeks ago after an attempt. In all honesty, I couldn't say it was that bad for me. But it does depend on the person. There's a handful of staff that seemed to actually care for the children here including Miss. Brie, Mr. Nate, and one of the other nurses. But there is also a hefty ton that really seemed to antagonize the children here. There was a patient close to my age that would have episodes and me and my friend overheard the staff Miss. Hillary and Miss. Veronica making fun of said patient. My friend here also had a bad experience with the main doctor, Dr. Dawson. My friend said that Dawson told her that she was in this facility just for attention. It seems that multiple other groups of children have had issues with this doctor. I also ended up convincing all the patients I was staying with to file multiple complaints against the night staff since they were so loud most of us couldn't sleep. They quieted down after that. Either way, I think that that majority of staff here do actually want to help. I was always being checked up on personally outside of the normal questionnaires, which I am thankful for. The amount privacy was also unexpected and (as a past SA victim) I was thankful. My biggest fear while arriving was being restrained and someone forcing themselves on me because of my past trauma, but that obviously never happened. I wasn't watched in the shower like a lot a places enforce, though obviously the staff checked up on me regularly, just without forcing their way through boundries. They would call from behind the curtains and only poke their head in briefly once I gave permission/I was covered up. Me and the other patients were also provided a steady array of hygiene and there weren't time limits on getting ready. It was nice being able to go at my own pace in the mornings while being in such unfamiliar territory. I do wish however that patients were provided more to do since phones are taken upon admisson. We did have fun and productive times scheduled in the day but unfortunately it always seemed to end too soon, so most of the patients would sleep their day away outside of meal times. Especially since we spent most if not all of our day in the 'dayroom' without access to blankets or comfort aside from pulling our scrub shirts over our knees and curling up in the fabric for warmth. At the end of the day however, I met some amazing people that I still have brief contact with. I still think about the kind lady that would dole out meds and joke around with us. I wouldn't want to come back to a hospital, but if I absolutely had to I would choose this one. Most mental health facilities are extremely underfunded, but being treated like a human instead of just another nutcase made me just a little sad to leave.

I just wanted to share that I have been going to this clinic off and on since 2013. I have came and gone, I have had counselor after counselor. My counselor now is IRA. I have been close with a lot of my counselors before but he’s the first counselor I can honestly say I have been 100% honest with. No judgement. When I think I have accomplished something as small as a grain of sand he reminds me of the mountain I just moved. Today I broke down and he brought up things that hit the heart with me and made so much sense because he actually listens. Other counselors have pushed me to go to meetings when all I needed was one on one counseling and the counseling I received today was exactly what I needed. I just wanted to share how awesome IRA is and how much he is apppreciated. I am so thankful for this clinic because I don’t feel so alone anymore. If you’re thinking about starting I would recommend this clinic 1000 percent. I’ve gone to multiple clinics and this clinic is by far the best

I started my journey on the JAX1 campus, and transfered to the new Lakeland FL campus after the closing of JAX1. The campus is so beautiful and I am so glad I made the move with the campus. Sober Living America changed the way I see life as well as how I see myself. They gave me the tools I needed to live a sober life and have peace and joy again. Salvatore was my Director on JAX1 and remains my Director on the Lakeland campus. He shows such grace every day. He chooses recovery over character and money. He has a vast knowledge of recovery, and I continue to learn from him every day. We are a family here and we help each other through the difficult moments we face. It's an amazing journey they go through. I know this place saved my son's life. Kindness, compassion and studying the AA 12 Steps and the way in which the program is run. It teaches responsibility, accountability and the tools to get and stay sober.

It is now April 2024 and my son is still sober at 37 and in fact my nephew is getting ready to complete his 6 months and he is excited about being sober and they both know and love the Lord! God. He has answered my prayers and Bridges of Hope was the vessel.
It is now July 1, 2024 my son is 37 and in August it will be 3 years Sober!! Praise Jesus and Bridges of Hope! To God be the Glory! Don’t stop praying! Thank you Bridges!!!

We also have a friend from our church who completed 6 months and he is 11 months sober.
I’m giving God the glory!!! Bridges not only instills a sober lifestyle! They give the men a structure and tools to live. I have another son who is sober 10 months he went to an insurance based rehab and thank you Jesus he’s still sober but I don’t see the love for God and the commitment to following the steps like I see in my other son and nephew. Gateway Community Services is a large-scale provider that handles a high volume of people across detox, residential, and outpatient care. They do not limit their entire outpatient program to 3 people a day.
However, some clinics may limit their "new" patient intake to 3 per day and on some occasions a specific doctor or counselor at the clinic might only have open slots for 3 individual appointments on a particular day.
All in all this is a fantastic place that has helped a lot of people including me! They never give up on one individual as I have seen multiple people come and go multiple times! If you want sobriety, you will achieve and maintain sobriety! No, its not as simple as that...but it can be! Dont give up! You only truly fail if you accept that failure. Remember: pain is only temporary and success is only dictated by your own "natural" happiness! Let it go, be free and dont let a substance control your life; allow yourself to rule yourself and watch as everything else, falls into place!

I am writing this review to express my deepest gratitude to Kristine White and the entire team at Wekiva Springs Behavioral Center. When my 33-year-old son was Baker Acted, we were in a state of crisis, and the professional care we received truly saved his life.
Kristine's professional insight into my son's erratic behaviors was exceptional. She and the team at Wekiva Springs were keenly aware of the adjustments he needed regarding his medications and provided the precise therapy required to help him overcome his crisis. Beyond the clinical expertise, this facility operates with true heart, sympathy, and empathy; they treated our family as if we were their own.
Even during a particularly difficult moment when my son tried to escape, the staff’s professionalism and their immediate, cooperative response with the authorities were nothing short of 'out of this world.' We are eternally grateful for their dedication, their humanity, and the life-saving support they provided for my son. I cannot recommend Kristine White and Wekiva Springs highly enough.

Edited review done on 1/7/26*...If you have seen my previous reviews, then you know that this place has a history of having super long wait times, really bad Program Directors, and a lack of corporate support. However, If I can report the bad, then I can also report the good. We got a new director and she has been phenomenal, especially when she's compared to some of the prior PDs, and I have no complaints about her. She has stuck with her agenda and it's clear that it involves improving the client's experience on a day to day basis. The holidays were rough but since then they have hired more nurses who started after the first of the year, so the wait times are much shorter (they were over an hour and they're around 10-15 mins, now. The clinic has improved immensely but it still feels like it is overwhelmingly overcrowded for it's size, which makes it nearly impossible to get anyone to answer the phone when you call. However, I can live with those things a lot better than having to wait an hour every time I go. I would still recommend going to a different clinic, if it's at all possible, but for different reasons than I did in the past. Now, it's just because the clinic still seems overcrowded but pls don't hesitate to come here if you don't have a choice or if the choice is this place or getting high. As always, the nurses at the window are top notch human beings and they're some of the best around. I truly appreciate them and their patience. Good luck and God bless

Jacksonville, FL | Breakthroughs: Counseling & Recovery is an outpatient drug and alcohol addiction rehab in Jacksonville, Florida. Located on Williamsburg Park Boulevard, it’s not far from St. John’s River. They provide intensive outpatient treatment services for adolescents and adults. The staff will provide a substance abuse assessment and refer you to the app | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I’ve just recently started a breakthroughs. It was incredibly easy to schedule my appointment and learn about the facility. Marcy was incredibly kind on the phone and made my next steps and joining breakthroughs feel like a simple task that I can accomplish. Marcywas very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and it’s clear that she genuinely advocates for the people that call.
I had my first therapy session today with Jackie! While therapy and meeting with a new therapist can be stressful; because it’s a very intimate setting, sharing very real and most of the time difficult things to work through. However with Jackie, I felt incredibly comfortable, I felt respected and was assured I was able to speak freely in a safe environment. One of the things I really appreciated is I went home with a little “homework”! :D I was truly excited about this! That way, I feel like I could still work on me outside of my therapy session and homework can help strike up topics or questions that I may want to address for my next therapy session which I believe incredibly helpful to my growth and recovery. It was nice to see Nick in the office as well! He runs Breakthroughs and it’s refreshing to see someone actively being involved in day-to-day

I love my therapist office. The receptionists are always friendly and know ur name and face. If u have any issues with payment they are very understanding and accommodating. I've been seeing my therapist Jeanna for 7 years and she is a absolutely wonderful. She has helped find myself and my voice. I wanted and prayed for a holistic therapist. She introduced me to meditation and it helped alot amongst over techniques. If u want a therapist office that makes u feel welcomed and warm, this is the place to go

Some of processes for specialty care, community care referrals needs to be more efficient and timely. I am pretty ok with VA for now as it stands
There is always new policies and laws pending, some already approved some in litigation. Often we find out there are proposals that can be detrimental to the service and support to mission on the VA. I look forward to the future, and better days to come in the near future

Doctor Ajayi is literally the best out there 👌 not only is She a good doctor shes a genuine soul, who truly cares and understands the specific needs of her patients 🥰 yesterday was a hard day for me dealing with stuff in my personal life. I didnt expect to have a panic attack at the place i go to get help for the panic attacks. lol, I ran away from my appointment bc I don't like to cry or draw attention to myself in public 😭 She reached out to me personally to make sure I was OK. She took personal time out of her day to talk me thru some of my problems, and that is above and beyond my expectations! I am truly greatful for the support and services i recieve here, even on the days that arent the best 🙏

I want to take a moment to recognize Matt Ward, PA, at Memorial ER for the incredible care he provided to my daughter.
We came into the ER with what we initially thought was something that could be treated and we would be on our way. Unfortunately, it turned into something much more serious and resulted in my daughter being admitted to the hospital. As a parent, there is nothing scarier than watching your child go through something unexpected like this.
From the beginning, Matt listened to us, took her symptoms seriously and made sure she received the attention and care she needed. He was compassionate, professional and genuinely concerned about my daughter. Looking back at everything that has happened since we first walked through those ER doors, I’m extremely thankful that Matt was part of her care.
Sometimes it’s not just the medical care that you remember, it’s how someone treated you and your family during one of the most difficult and stressful moments of your life.
Matt Ward, thank you for taking great care of my daughter and for being there for our family when we needed it most. It truly meant more to us than you know.
Thank you to Matt and the entire Memorial team for everything you have done for our family. We are truly grateful.

"I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. The entire nursing staff is so kind, but Ms. Karen ('Miss Kay') and Parnell truly stand out—they are always such a pleasure to talk to! The new receptionist is incredibly sweet; her beautiful smile and soft voice are so refreshing to walk into. Most importantly, my counselor, Mr. Lawrence, is absolutely amazing. I’ve been attending clinics like this since 2022 and have worked with about 10 different counselors, and he is by far the bestest. He makes it so easy to open up, always has a smile on his face, and is genuinely ready to listen to my stories and worries. He is a supportive ray of sunshine, and I am incredibly grateful for him!"
