I have been going here since 2012, because I choose too. You don't have to go as long as myself, you go AT YOUR OWN PACE, WHATEVER IS BEST FOR YOU. My counselor Lisa is awesome. Jazzy is the best director that place has had also. If you are in the place in your life where you need to go to a treement center, this is a good one.

A great place,staff and wonderful doctor and I couldn’t ask for anything more, the doctor, counselor, receptionist, nurse, and anyone else I’ve forgotten (but not really forgotten !) make this place more welcoming than I can express …. They are more kind and considerate than you could possibly imagine and I would recommend this facility to anybody wanting to make a change and change directions, in your own crossroad. I just got home from a month treatment at this fabulous place! I cried, I didn’t want to leave! If you are someone serious, really serious about your recovery-and want as much knowledge as possible to treat the horrible disease of addiction-then you can’t go wrong going to Black Bear! As long as you’re willing to put in the work? This place is healing for the soul! I learned more about myself& my addiction in 30days than I’ve learned being somewhere 6mths! The sister/brotherhood that’s formed, the staff, the therapists, the cabins, the food…SO MUCH right!! I can’t sing their praises enough!

My children receive services at Avita in Cleveland it's by far the best location in my opinion the front desk staff is always so engaging with my kids and the other staff is so engaging and empathetic my three favorite people in this office is the front desk, nurse, and male counselor. My daughter doesn't see him but he is always quick to check in with her about her day.
This program literally saved my life from a long road of drug and alcohol abuse. I had a rough start due to my inability to accept the true issues associated with addiction. This was in the mid-90s where the Hickey House offered me the last chance to find true recovery. Tom and Eliane were like 2nd parents in a time when addiction had kicked my butt, but with their loving and amazing ability to get at the root of addiction in a strong spiritual and professional manner. Thank GOD every day for this program and staff. I completed then a 2 year program and I can proudly attest to the effectiveness of their humanistic approach to living without drugs and alcohol. I've been sober and clean for over 20 years. THANK YOU HICKEY HOUSE!!

My stay at the hickey house was awesome! A very down to earth and in tune approach to recovery that gave me the chance I desperately needed to rebuild myself in an environment that was both nurturing and structured with strong basis on AA traditions and principles. The house has a great reputation in the local community and is involved in many different surrounding outside AA meetings . The part I liked most about it was the personal and accessible level staff and residents communicate . My comfort level was through the roof ,which in return allowed me to thrive in my recovery . I don't see a better place available for a person to get the tools to get sober and remain sober. I'd most definitely recommend this place to anyone who IS SERIOUS about giving their selves a chance at happiness in sobriety

I don't have firsthand experience with treatment here but I can say this is the only place in Toccoa including the "health department" where people are unashamed to talk about HIV prevention and harm reduction. I also know that the staff here go through a lot standing for what they believe is right including police harassment and intimidation for running a program that is 100 percent legal.

Staff is very professional treats you well instead of like an outcast. Counselors work with you and really try to help you.
I was absolutely welcomed . I was taken by the testimonies of all the graduating women who still participate in group activities and get together. I was blown away by the many different programs and different stages of recovery on the entire property . I am truly drawn to the precense of the Holy Spirit and his Glory working in and through this ministry.

I’ve been bringing my son to Avita for years, and he’s worked with several different counselors. Until recently, it always felt like a struggle just to get him to go, and I honestly started to lose hope.
Since he’s been seeing Daniel, everything is different. My son actually looks forward to his sessions now, which is something I never thought I’d say. Daniel connects with him in a way no one else has, and the progress we’re seeing is real.
What I appreciate most is that Daniel doesn’t just focus on my son—he involves the whole family. He challenges me too, and has helped me recognize ways I can support my son better. Because of that, our relationship feels healthier and less like a constant fight.
If you’re a parent who’s been discouraged with counseling in the past, I can’t recommend Daniel enough.

Needs some work with noticing when a client is living a lie!
I have been here 3 times. Once with my parents at 16, 2nd time around 2020, and finally back at it after moving back to GA. They are truly amazing and I have been there a year already and it's crazy how I'm finally getting the help I need. Dr. C is truly amazing and I adore him. And my therapist Andrea is outstanding. Even my caseworker Jessica goes above and beyond to help me with where I need to go and get done.
Amazing place and always will be.

Alecia is so great. Alecia is my counselor, she’s so calm and easy to talk to and she’s so validating. She is very patient, she’s been very supportive in my treatment process. I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to work with her.

After injuring my back on the job, I spiraled into opioid addiction and it nearly tore my family apart. Coming to Shepherd’s Hill gave me a fresh start. The counselors really cared and helped me work through the emotional stuff, not just the addiction. I liked that I could still talk with my wife and kids, it kept me grounded. Wish they had more physical therapy options for chronic pain though. The campus is peaceful and the staff were supportive. This place helped me find my feet again.

I would not be the person I am today if it was not for Shepherds hill. The truth is they love all who come there and treat them with love and care. they are not perfect but they are doing their very best. And they need as much love and support at this time they are a part of me now and they have given me a family and a home. Thanks to my wonderful parents and the amazing staff at SHA I am so proud to be a daughter of God, A woman, and a Confident African american. From my experience over months of working intensively to survive traumatic and complicated grief, everyone with whom I interact with at OMHC has been and continues to be compassionate, patient, and expert professionals. From the first day when I arrived and collapsed into a lobby chair with tears streaming and reality shifted from normal, I was rescued and cared for by these remarkable people. Working weekly with both a grief counselor and a physician, I discovered that the interplay between my underlying medical conditions and high functioning autism were being dramatically affected by the traumatic grief. This caused a period of reactive psychosis or shift from reality where nothing seemed real and I could once again see and speak with my recently departed mother. Without help, people with autism do not process grief like a neuro-normal and as such are more profoundly affected and can become very ill, like I had. The underlying adrenal insufficiency and narcolepsy, which were caused by prior damage to the pituitary and hypothalamus organs of the brain, are potentially life-threatening if not treated appropriately. Due to the autism and subsequent inability to process traumatic grief, my neurological medical conditions were thrown into disequilibrium. The result was daily adrenal crises and significant reduction in neurotransmitters of the brain. Some of these are responsible for higher brain function, such as the executive functions, namely decision making, reasoning abilities, cognitive processing of information (difficulty taking in and understanding information), and even impulse control. Insomnia. Inability to eat mainly because food didn't just taste a little off but rather it tasted rotten. The world seemed to be very far away and foggy. My head felt like a huge rock on my shoulders instead of my own head. My body felt weighed down and slow as if I were trying to slog my way through tar. But nothing mattered because of the deep depression that had settled in to stay for a long visit. This is when the world became dream-like and I could see momma again. I had been unable to locate grief counseling for many weeks since momma passed regardless of how hard I tried to find it and begged for help. There was nothing. But now, that no longer mattered because momma was back. For a very brief time, returning to the work that I loved and had worked nearly half my life to be able to do, now seemed like someone else's life. My medical leave was ending soon and I should be concerned about it. However, I was so satisfied and relieved to have mommy back home that I was unconcerned that the world had disappeared. We talked for hours everyday. When I went to the pharmacy for refills, as mommy was always reminding me when it was time to take my medicine, the pharmacist had heard I was looking for grief counseling and mentioned this place in a big building over there down that little road at the very end. I put the bag of medicine into my purse and seemed to float to the car and over to that place. I don't recall seeing any name on the building or a sign out front and wasn't sure I was where I was supposed to be. I was just so very tired and weak. I entered and saw comfortable chairs and collapsed into one. My memory is very hazy around some of these weeks but there are important aspects that rise above all of the heavy fog. These are very kind, genuinely kind people, I recall thinking. I'm being given some instructions and because they're obviously trying to help me, I will do as they ask. They're very kind, gentle, and warm people. During these days that stretched into weeks, life was a blur of ongoing crying jags that filled my head with such pain that it felt like it might crack open, conversely, I enjoyed many soothing talks with mommy. She was always waiting for me when I returned home. Gratitude and happiness filled me each time I saw her. Sadly, as I was improving, mommy was disappearing. I grieved again. I am here because I was first carried by and then allowed to lean on the remarkable and compassionate people at OMHC.

I was scrolling the web and I always check the reviews of places I have physically been seen at. I'm a single father now and i havent been able to post as much as i'd like. When I saw some of the comments they really well....pissed me off. Dr Craddock is one of the most caring DR/Pshyciatrist i have encountered in my recovery. I started in 2008 in Seneca,SC and quickly moved to Recovery Concepts with Dr Craddock. Just to put it all plainly. There was never a time anything was offered to me that i didnt have to take the assesment for or bring up first. He never said try these THATS BULL. They don't just hand out any medications if they are deemed nessicary and you bring them up the administer an assesment on you and you may or may not have ADHD or anxiety. I in fact do have and will always have SUD, anxiety and adult ADHD. I will say it again for those in the back. He is a great DR/Pshciatrisrt but they dont make you take the medication and they certainlly dont bring it up. Hope this clears the BS away from him.

Mt Sinai was very helpful for my family and our loved one from start to finish. The entire staff was very warm and welcoming. We have been dealing with this for almost 10 years and Mt Sinai actually addressed his underlying issues for the first time ever. His therapist and Dr were very invested with us and I highly recommend anyone that reaches out to me to call them!
I have gone to numerous VA Clinics in South Florida and in Blairsville which I hope I will never have to seek care at any of those facilities.
The Franklin VA Clinic has restored my faith in obtaining care from the VA. All the personnel here truly care for your wellbeing. You can't ask for better treatment by the Dr Garrison, Dr. Amanda Green, Ms. Stone, Dr Lewis, Dr Riggs, and so many more who work there.

I've been in treatment 14 years. God and Medmark gave me my life back. If you truly want to feel normal again and get your life back on track then I suggest starting treatment ASAP. I have the best councillor anybody could ever have. Sherry Barnes knows me inside and out! The reason I don't go to a clinic closer to me is because of Sherry. You've got to have a councillor that you trust or your treatment could become jeopardized. So if you are ready to get your life back then I suggest Medmark and Sherry Barnes!

I have been going to this treatment center since August. In that amount of time I have seen people heal from opiate addiction to move on to healthier and better lives. I will say that the counselors at this clinic care deeply about each one of the people who walks through the door every day. If you struggle with addiction, I would suggest calling and talking to one of the counselors. Truly they care.

Broke down up here in Blairsville on our way home to Marietta. Needed to guest dose for 3 days and they ended up going above and beyond to do what they could to help us. Extremely thankful for this place. The director is definitely a lot more helpful and nice than the director at our home clinic. Definitely recommending them to anyone that needs them in this area. I struggled with addiction for 20+ years. Thanks to southwest Carolina treatment center I’ve been clean for 4 years. Everyone at the clinic is nice. Sterling is down to earth and easy to talk to. He cares about the people he works with. He genuinely wants to know how you are doing. Everyone at the clinic is very helpful ,hopeful, and I get to feeling that they genuinely care about helping curve addiction in our community. 10/26/25 still using this same clinic, sterling is no longer there . Vick is my counselor now and he's awesome. He doesn't rush and takes the time to talk with me for as long as I need . This place saved my life literally. If you need help and have been unsuccessful at treatment several times please do yourself a favor and get to a clinic who offers out patient therapy.

My treatment plan through SWCTC saved my life. I'd never heard of methadone and a friend told me about it. I was in denial and had spent so much money and time finding drugs. My whole existence depended on getting my pills. I wanted to stop and prayed for a way. I've been clean for 22 years now. If you really want to stop, call SWCTC or a clinic near you to make an appointment so you too can get help without going through a horrific withdrawal.

My wife was flown in to the hospital from Stephen’s County hospital because as SCH said MGMC resources are more extensive. My wife was a hairs breath from death. A team of doctors, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center took her case , operated and took care of her heart problems that had just manifested itself while at SCH. These skilled doctors saved her life and restored her health.
I am very grateful to the team of doctors and nurses that kept watch over her for the whole time she was there, four weeks mostly in ICU.
In my opinion this is the place to go for fast, efficient and empathetic care.
I thank each one on the team and those that helped them with their work.

I can not say enough good things about this hospital and the staff. My dear friend Pablo unfortunately passed away on the hospice floor but was in patient many time on the 5 floor green tower. The staff and doctors could not have treated him and his family with more respect. This hospital was a true blessing and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. He was from Dublin,Ga and wanted to always go back to Gainesville for in hospital care. I wish i could name each person by name but they know who they are. Thanks for the love and respect that this hospital showed to us. This is a 10/10 hospital.

I can’t give enough stars to Ezana! He is such a wonderful host when it comes to bringing the meals and always so friendly and such a big smile. He looks like a professional five star hotel maître D! I appreciate it all of his hard work while I was there for seven days!
The one GREAT thing about the Oakwood VA Medical Clinic is the Department of Veterans Services Representative Pablo Cruz. Pablo Cruz is highly professional, really cares about Veterans and is very knowledgeable of how the VA Disability System works. It's wonderful to know there is someone connected to a VA Medical Facility that can be trusted. I've had so many frustrating experiences at the many VA Medical Facilities I've used since returning from Vietnam in 1970 and for the most part the Oakwood VA Clinic is filled with the same type of personnel you would expect to find at any VA Medical Facility, they're there for a paycheck, not to care for Veterans. A beautiful building with plenty of parking but until the VA Medical personnel can follow the EXAMPLARY Behavior displayed by Pablo Cruz, faith in the VA Medical System will never be restored. The only reason I would use the Oakwood VA Clinic is for seeking assistance from the Department of Veterans Services Representative Pablo Cruz. He is the only reason I'm giving this facility a 5 Star rating, if it weren't for Pablo Cruz, I'd rate this facility what I rate all VA Medical Facilities, ZERO.

I brought a family member here a fee years back. Its truly Amazing what God did in his life at this center. Its an amazing peace of land,Blessed and set apart just right for the healing! -If you truly... TRULY want to get your life together, this is the place for you. You can show up with nothing, you will be clothed, fed and given a bed to sleep in. There is a daily schedule with classes that help instill structure and stability. Clients are given a generous amount of Grace when it comes to program participation as us as addicts are often not a fan of authority. The Potter's House is a place with amazing opportunities for any addict that wants to get clean and have the tools to succeed in life beyond the "Eagles".
-I spent two years of my life here throughout various stages of the program. I am now working a job I never would have dreamed of and am loving the life I am living. I showed up to this past Christmas with gifts for my family for the first time in my life. I am 32. My Mom and I's relationship has never been better. There's too many blessings to count.
