I came here back in 2008. I was at my lowest point in my life. I lost everything that mattered including myself & I was more than ready. I had already been to a few different treatment facilities before this point but i wasn’t never ready. I was doing it for the courts or for my concerned family. You have to do it for yourself. I finally hit that “rock bottom” I kept hearing about. I lost the father of my daughter to an overdose and then custody of my daughter soon after. I was there at the bottom of the dark pit I dug for myself. But there is light and little by little I dug myself out. But with work!! Fairview was my first step and I really loved this place. I had the best counselor(I can’t remember her name, maybe Ms. Cheryl?)and group members. I met some really cool people that I still talk to sometimes. This place helped to start my healing journey. I continued with outpatient treatment, got a full time job, my first apartment & I finally got my daughter back. She is now 18 and doing great. I’m happily married with a very strong support system. It’s possible to change & I highly recommend this place.

First of all I must say I'm not a people person but when I started going to magnolia family services and I met Ms.Juanita and she took the time to listen to all of my problems and help me I refuse to accept anyone else when I said that woman put her heart and soul into listening and helping her patient I give her a hundred if all the workers is working the way she working with there clients then I give them a hundred God bless them all because sometime we do get very agitated and very crazy at times to have patient with taking and listening at us is it good thing God give them a gift and Ms. Juanita is one that have it .....Thank Y'all for having her

Reception area very courteous and helpful. Blood draw nurse knowledgeable, courteous and comforting. Dr. MCcanless nurse was courteous and informative. Infusion nurse very knowledgeable, courteous, competent, comforting and helpful by answering all my questions. The nutritionist was informative and concerned for my welbeing. Felt at ease and calm given the infusion was my first. Thank-you for a great experience at a trying time.

This place has been a life changer for me. The head director and other alumni are more than willing to help you in your time in need. They tell you what you need to hear and don't beat around the bush about it. Powerhouse was a great experience. It helped me to be grateful for everything I have in my life. I was given an amazing opportunity to practice the principles I learned in my inpatient program. I was given opportunities to help others and bond with fellow patients. The staff are all Powerhouse alumni and are very passionate and knowledgeable about recovery. I am extremely fortunate to have gone through the Powerhouse program and absolutely recommend this facility to anyone struggling with addiction who is looking for a path to recovery.

After my granddaughter was admitted to Riverplace, I was nervous and skeptical about her stay. After speaking with the nursing staff, I wanted to speak with someone in Administration, and I had the opportunity to speak with Joshua, the CEO. He assured me that she would be in good hands. After her discharge, she shared that they treated her like family and made her feel very safe and comfortable throughout her stay. First off I have been with SCLHSA for almost 2 decades now. Don't expect to see a doctor or counselor on the first visit or after the first phone call. I see a doctor, Dr Brice who is amazing and reads patient files and a counselor once a month. They can be overbooked and understaffed but do try to accommodate everyone. Yes I do have telehealth visits at the clinic as doctors are spread thin. I have never had any problems except for parking, which is no longer an issue, and people coming in thinking they can get seen right then and there with no consideration of others and yell at the workers who also have to worry about their own mental health.

I lived here at the group home from 1985-1995. 2 months before my fifth birthday til 7 months before my 15th birthday. Mr. Augustin is the one that brought me out of my state of catatonic shock the first year he showed up only 3 months in from his starting date. I remember those beautiful memories believe me. And everyday I wish I could go back and see the ppl I grew with both the kids and staff members. It became home without me even noticing. I am 45 yrs old now. No family just my brother, and my stubborn cousin from California. Ive been alone all these years since moving back with my dad. Alone and kinda miserable. I never realized just how ugh the ppl I left behind were gonna matter so much to me when I was leaving. So yeah I wish I could go back and stay till my 18th birthday. And marry Paul Sanchez my childhood sweetheart. Got a job at the south down mall as a sales person as a starting point. Life could've turned out sweeter. If I only knew then what I know now. Well now im in a relationship with my second from cali, and theres a chance I could end up marrying him instead of Paul Sanchez. But either way the both have that way about them with me that I love and adore. Hes got that protective love over me. And hes very sweet on me. So the near future is starting to look much better. Just wanted to leave an update on that. I dont have any of my photos from the group home any photos I had from those yrs of my life were stolen by my dad girlfriend, and her oldest daughter. So I dont even have any memories to show for it. But I do remember some memories. But I wanted to ask what yrs was everyone else there at McDonald's group home?
