First off I have been with SCLHSA for almost 2 decades now. Don't expect to see a doctor or counselor on the first visit or after the first phone. I see a doctor, Dr Brice who is amazing and reads patient files and a counselor once a month. They can be overbooked and understaffed but do try to accommodate everyone. Yes I do have telehealth visits at the clinic as doctors are spread thin. I have never had any problems except for parking, which is no longer an issue, and people coming in thinking they can get seen right then and there with no consideration of others and yell at the workers who also have to worry about their own mental health.

The medication assisted program makes the road to recovery easier and possible. Unfortunately “TriCare East” is not accepted! I brought it to their attention being that they advertise “TriCare”. The issues that occurred in my treatment all stemmed from this “not accepting TriCare”….Otherwise,the program will assist you in finding your way back.

The staff at OLOL were incredible, but I especially have a soft place in my heart for the staff at the Neuro ICU, where I spent most of my time there. The Neuro ICU is incredible, because there are no vital signs nurses who wake you up every hour or two. It was very quiet, dim lit, huge rooms, the nurses were so attentive. It was absolutely wonderful!! I honestly wish I could have taken my nurse home with me. We bonded, and I would have loved to be her Best Friend!

My experience was a surprise to me. I wasn’t expecting a procedure, but it was at first uncomfortable but the doctor assured me that it wouldn’t last long. She made me very comfortable mentally and physically. It was not as bad as i thought. She and her assistant was very kind and patient with me. I appreciate how they did the procedure. As with anything in life you ONLY get what YOU put into something, including mental health. I WAS skeptical about embarking on this with Beacon only because my inpatient stay many years ago with them was forced. Everyone that I have encountered in my 3 day a week day program has changed my perspective. From Mrs. Lisa, Alyssa all the way through Ms. Jessie and Patricia. I'm enjoying my days a lot more.

Went to EJ for chest pains and shortness of breathe. To make a long 18 day in the hospital stay short. I had quadruple bypass and was on the impella machine. The care I received was first class and they are reason I am here today. The ICU Cardic Care Team is by far the best around and took my care with the upmost concern and urgency. I can't thank them enough!

At this place, no one cares if you get your meds on time or not. The only good thing here is about three nurses, who do all they can, but their work is not enough, they do as much as they can. This center is a joke, the worst clinic ever!

We have a family member needing help the last 4 months and has finally been put in a hospital that wants to help. Third hospital and we finally have a diagnosis (thanks to St James) and a team of professionals that are dedicated to making sure patients receive the best care possible. We can finally sleep at night knowing our loved one is where she needs to be and the staff there is working hard to give her her life back. She will never be the same but that’s a good thing, her mind was torturing her and the staff there is teaching her how to live with her disease and prescribing the medicine that will help stabilize her. St James is the best place if you have any mental health issues, the absolute best.

My clients have always had a positive experience and the clinical and support staff are the most responsive and knowledgeable. This was the first rehab I had ever went to. This was in 2015 or 16 well they were located I think in Lafayette and when I got signed in to stay they were moving like the 3rd day that I was there to sunset location . It was cool to see . The old one looked like a house it was cool . I had came in and almost passed out and the nurses and staff made sure I was ok and saw a doctor and that mentally I was okay . I may not have been at my best but the staff and everyone here was so beyond kind and cared about everyone's sobriety and it was individualized and personal . It was pricey back then I'm not sure about now . I had ended leaving but I never forgot and alot of people will say it's about how people treat you that people remember. It helped me in the sobriety process . They were still kind and wanted me to stay so much but I needed something else . Well because I had went for the time length I stayed I got an AA book and I kept it all these years and today it still helps and has helped heal me. If it wasn't for that place I wouldn't know the AA way.

I have to say the food wasn’t bad either, I didn’t like the roommate part, and the beds were comfortable just like the chairs.. everything else was pretty good, and I got to call my people a lot. But the person who drawled my blood busted my vein, and I don’t think she knew what she was doing on that part…

Flexible hours for IOP and really good counselors. They will help you with EVERYTHING. This is more like a family. They offer treatment plans, one on one counseling, transitional living, and more. If you are in recovery this is where you need to be at.

My grandson is there and I was scared at first I didn't even know what the property looks like or anything but it's pretty much way out in the boondocks seen plenty of corn fields and it's located down a long gravel road I was like oh my God there's not even blacktop roads but we got there and it's like a couple separate buildings and my grandson was so happy he didn't act like he wanted to go home or juvie LOL the staff was very nice it's way more than I expected I had told my grandson that I would like to try to maybe donate some stuff for them to do you know games and stuff like that but he said no mamaw we have plenty of stuff to do I get to choose my chores and I chose to cut grass what she likes because his papa never lets him we're about an hour and a half for longer away from there but it's really nice as we were there they was cooking them po'boys french fries and I'm trying to think something else but he said he's eating very good there and you know they pretty much mentor them and cancel them and they don't see race the one man that works the board is you know the one that told me that and he was so kind to us he seemed like he really cared about my grandson

This is a hidden jewel in Acadiana. While other states have little to offer the youth who have fallen into the hands of the judicial system Acadiana is fortunate to have AMI. Although the boys arrive after ending up in trouble, the staff at AMI work to help them realize that their past doesn’t dictate their future. AMI is giving these boys an opportunity to overcome the odds, to stay out of the judicial system, and most importantly realize that there are people out there that care for them.
