I’ve seen such a positive change in my son’s behavior since we started with Magnolia. It hasn’t always been easy, but his caseworker has truly gone above and beyond to support him and our family. First off I have been with SCLHSA for almost 2 decades now. Don't expect to see a doctor or counselor on the first visit or after the first phone call. I see a doctor, Dr Brice who is amazing and reads patient files and a counselor once a month. They can be overbooked and understaffed but do try to accommodate everyone. Yes I do have telehealth visits at the clinic as doctors are spread thin. I have never had any problems except for parking, which is no longer an issue, and people coming in thinking they can get seen right then and there with no consideration of others and yell at the workers who also have to worry about their own mental health.

I was raised here too. And loved it. You know as kids in the system, wanting to live back home and wanting the nom freedoms, we dont know what we had til we moved back home. I wish I had stayed til my 18th birthday now looking back. Love and miss you mr. Augustin. I lived here at the group home from 1985-1995. 2 months before my fifth birthday til 7 months before my 15th birthday. Mr. Augustin is the one that brought me out of my state of catatonic shock the first year he showed up only 3 months in from his starting date. I remember those beautiful memories believe me. And everyday I wish I could go back and see the ppl I grew with both the kids and staff members. It became home without me even noticing. I am 45 yrs old now. No family just my brother, and my stubborn cousin from California. Ive been alone all these years since moving back with my dad. Alone and kinda miserable. I never realized just how ugh the ppl I left behind were gonna matter so much to me when I was leaving. So yeah I wish I could go back and stay till my 18th birthday. And marry Paul Sanchez my childhood sweetheart. Got a job at the south down mall as a sales person as a starting point. Life could've turned out sweeter. If I only knew then what I know now. Well now im in a relationship with my second from cali, and theres a chance I could end up marrying him instead of Paul Sanchez. But either way the both have that way about them with me that I love and adore. Hes got that protective love over me. And hes very sweet on me. So the near future is starting to look much better. Just wanted to leave an update on that. I dont have any of my photos from the group home any photos I had from those yrs of my life were stolen by my dad girlfriend, and her oldest daughter. So I dont even have any memories to show for it. But I do remember some memories. But I wanted to ask what yrs was everyone else there at McDonald's group home?

The 10 effect of the avenues black mamba..... Defense mechanism, beliefs, anxiety, balance, compromising, productive, aggressiveness, issues, problem's,bad or good behaviors every day you wore them up your sleeves, and more and you wore them well but when I learned who you were was hard for me to believe,by any means necessary lord knows no surrender know retreat was your beliefs no games or schemes, now I see why other called you the true Ms.Recovery,I'm no M.L.K.but the day I walked through them doors I had a dream, you get what you put in when you work hard for something you develop a different kinda attachment for it just like your disease, and the gift of recovery is what you wanted all of us to achieve,to join the list of greatness without compromising who we are and what we have build an defense mechanism only we could see,we are who we are until we walk through that front door to leave the bullshit in the streets,to be productive in ur own recovery, all the streets and the anxiety of relationships and all the other behaviors that's bad must be released,on the contrary say an do what you mean, problem solving and everything in-between, excessive conversation on or off the phone makes being there harder at times it may seem, you was always full of data your Internet is always on,just a reminder you came there by yourself try to leave alone, find your own zone,I'm not talking about cox but after awhile it felt good calling home, you gave me this and I can go on an on these 10 effects and a few months later I'm still clean and I wrote this in your honor,to me your avenues black mamba so I will end this with you was my blessing in there and Thank you Ms.Donna So mite not understand this and the wording, that's ok but if you are anything like I was this is the place you need to be, when you go be open minded the staff is the best from the front desk all the way through they are showing you a different perspective of living,I'm a souechef but they have the recipe to recovery...one day you will have to get serious about you....

I had some good times at this place. It’s definitely not one of the most generous, well-stocked, amenity-laden or pedagogical facilities out there but most of the staff are amazing and *really* care about the clients. They allowed me to set up my guitar, amp, PA, etc. in one of their meeting rooms and play/sing songs for them after the morning meetings. They were pretty reasonable letting me work as many hours as I wanted (within reason) even allowing me to stay out past midnight on several occasions. They DID make me stop going to Planet Fitness after work because I got “pulled over” on my bicycle in Metairie and my backpack searched and I had to call them and let them know I was gonna be late which drew attention to it. The “long-term” facility on Tonti St is in a really old, house-like building that used to be some kind of home for “colored” old folks (Google the history if you’re interested—it’s there). It’s actually 5+ buildings taking up nearly half a block where the oldest part is the main building with most of the offices. There’s a mysterious 4th floor that is supposed to be inaccessible to clients used for storage but also a secret hideout.

Odyssey House of New Orleans & Bayou Vista SAVED MY LIFE...MORE THAN ONCE...REHAB is NOT A VACATION..the staff members are NOT our CONNOISSEURS.."like at hotel... Although I would like to add that New Orleans was like being at a 5 star hotel...the building ETC ..but they might be a little understaffed...the TECH's definitely do not have more than 2 hands & 2 feet & should be paid more.Bayou Vista..was like being at a Nice Motel ..but again they really do need more staff members or TECH's ON THE DAY SHIFTS & they should get paid more NO MATTER what their backgrounds are .. especially if they've been there for a while and provide loyalty.... PLEASE let's keep every suffering addict & their families in our PRAYERS & if they don't have a FAMILY..then ODYSSEY HOUSE will treat you like FAMILY... ALSO remember their TECHNOLOGY is IMPECCABLE so always tell the truth.May GOD BLESS you and GOD BLESS AMERICA 🙏

Springfield Wellness Center is the first step that God led me to discard my old ways and build a new way of life. I have complete Gratitude for this clinic and more importantly Dr. Paula and the whole staff at Springfield Wellness Center. Nurse Angela is exactly what her name means an angel and messenger from God and a great nurse too. All the nurses fit this same description they were comforting, extremely attenuative, and calmed my anxiety as well as make me smile which was not easy for me at that point in my life. I entered the treatment close to death and saturated with Alcohol I left 10 days clean. I did follow with IOP treatment and embraced the AA fellowship program and today by the Grace of God and his will I am 4 months and 10 days clean of any harmful substance. Springfield Wellness Center is a special place, the grounds, facilities, food, NAD treatment, most of all the people that are there. Palmetto is the best treatment center in Louisiana by far. Stuart, Jerry, Joseph and Beck have certainly changed my life for the better. I would say that they gave me a life. A second chance! I would recommend this place to anyone struggling with addiction. From the medical staff to the techs this place is A1 and they also accept medicaid.

River Oaks Hospital sits on a 14 acre campus in New Orleans, Louisiana. This location provides addiction and dual diagnosis care to adults. There’s plenty to do and see in New Orleans, but if the city isn’t your thing you can take in the sights of the Mississippi River nearby. This treatment center works with many major insurance plans,
While the accommodation itself isn't ideal, I have to recommend the ED/TR specialty unit based on its staff. They were so kind and patient with me throughout my entire stay of a whopping 29 days. Special thank you to Cody, Mika, Jameicka, Rose, Abbie, Ray, Tiana, Amie, Ashley, Armani, Dr. Peterson, the dietitians, and all of the therapists I interacted with. I think the major issues with this facility are the result of some systemic issues, unfortunately beyond the control of most. I was in the ED program and there was a definite lack of ED-specific professionals during meal groups, which creates a situation where the patients need to take additional accountability to ensure their meal plan is accurately followed. If more techs could be trained on how these disorders function, and how to better support individuals during mealtimes, I think this program would benefit greatly. In addition, the food and accommodation need some serious upgrades, particularly with cleanliness and air conditioning issues (the AC went out multiple times during my stay). The program can definitely be beneficial if you put in the work!

I was in the specialty here and overall it was a good experience, the staff for the most part was amazing. However I did get a pinched nerve from the terrible mattresses which caused me severe pain to the point where I was in tears, and I felt very dismissed. I felt like my pain wasn't taken seriously which is disappointing because its been about two weeks and I am still suffering and will most likely need physical therapy because of it. The nurse even dismissed me when I suggested that it was nerve related saying "there are no nerves in that part of your body". Aside from that I had a very beneficial experience here and really have no other complaints which is why I'm so disappointed by the way the whole situation was handled. Its hard to be present in therapy when you're in 8/10 pain.

Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System – Baton Rouge South VA OPC. This VA outpatient clinic serves veterans and their families as they navigate a range of medical and mental health conditions. If you’re struggling with addiction use, you’ll find support through their counseling services.
You may be there forever, but they take good care of you. I was able to see the doctor, do labs, get pharmacy, get appointments scheduled and multiple Community Care referrals to Oschners for specialists. If I only needed to just see my doc, labs, and prescriptions; I would have been there for less than two hours. The new book shelf with free books is amazing. It was previously books scattered across a tiny table. The staff are some really wonderful people. They want to build a relationship with the Veteran. I put that singular not plural because they treat everyone like you’re the only patient. Skyler. I appreciate your patience and skill with being my personal lab vampire. I know that I have horrible veins that like to roll, shrink, blow out…Thank you for bridging a friendship with me. It’s nice to be associated with one of my sister-in-laws oldest friends. Mr. Marcus. My man. You make my day. Thank you for the immediate bright smile and making sure you ask how I am and how my family is doing. Thank you for being my friend.

Five stars for the Baton Rouge VA. The Man who greets people and helps guide them at the front desk is a professional. He is always kind and helpful. A woman named Mrs.Mead has helped me so much. She has connected me with rehab facilities that help veterans who struggle with mental health issues and addiction. My life would be so much worse if I didn't have the help from these people and the Baton Rouge VA.
