I absolutely love the staff at Spring Hill! The campus is gorgeous and healing. The ability to walk around and socialize in an open space is wonderful. I really felt cared for by the clinicians, case managers, nurses and RSes.
CORPORATE, however is obviously very greedy unfortunately. You are a number to them. It’s a common problem but something you should know. Do not listen to promises of recruiters, there are many things said to try to get you signed up (commission) that are untrue (ex/ pool, trails, what you can bring or not etc)
Know your rights. If you are sent for detox at BEDROCK, DO NOT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO STAYING. Go to Spring Hill and don’t waver

Coming into detox I understand that groups and peer participation is necessary and your not required to go the 1st day or 2nd day but i think we need more time during the groups for self care, resting (because we're all very tired) and not shut off the tvs during groups.. because sometimes we just need a few minutes by ourselves

I was skeptical about going for detox but did it anyways. I will recomend this place to anybody this place is great, From intake to discharge. Great Case managers shout out to Kim top notch, Great therapist, Brittney, Brianna, Heather, Jonathan, Sue Thanks for everything and listening and all the advice. Nurses, Techs, Janitors God bless. Overall, this is one of the nicest mental health facilities you can go to. The facility itself is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The staff and therapists truly care about their work and are generally very solid and helpful once you get to connect with them. However, the program isn't as intensive as some might need — I only saw my therapist twice in a two-week span, including intake.
Organizationally, things can sometimes fall through the cracks (like belongings, medication, and laundry). Your experience will also heavily depend on the other residents, which can be a wild card. Despite a few operational hiccups, the caring nature of the staff and the quality of the environment make it a solid choice for treatment.

I've been at Merrick Street for nearly a year, and my experince has been truly amazing. Spectrum staff members are caring, well-educated and passionate about helping each client on an individual basis. The level of care far exceeds that of other programs. I started my 'journey' at Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and (apart from my clinician -- who was amazing!), it felt like conveyor-belt-style care. Now, that was a 2-hour round-trip commute every morning, but Information about Spectrum (20 minutes away) was hidden from me (despite my inquiries) for months because it was a separate organization and they likely didn't want to lose me as a paycheck -- I mean patient.
Spectrum is the total opposite. It has changed my life. I wasted years fearing a program, and the stigma attached. But I realized-- since I was already dealing with the stigma of having fibromyalgia and chronic pain, it made no difference, and I needed to try -- for me. Since entering, I have met so many incredible people, shared and heard many incredible stories, and in a way, I am proud to be part of something so positive.

This institution is affiliated with Harvard and one of the best in the entire nation. I was at the Betty Ford before this, and it was absolute garbage in comparison, both in quality of care and quality of the property.
Every single staff member at fernside absolutely cares about patients and the staff outnumber and patients - which is extremely rare. Betty Ford was something like four patients per staff member. Here there’s typically 3MD’s, 3-4 nurses, multiple therapists, and an amazing private chef.
At fernside you have industry leading experts with resources directly from Harvard meeting as a team to diagnose, underlying health conditions, and treat various addictions. You meet with them all individually multiple times per week and they speak with each other to discuss mental health, medications, etc. It’s like the show house. They have the time to do so because there are typically 4-6 patients and a maximum of 9. If you want a full breakdown and evaluation with individualized care, this is the place for you.
I cannot say enough, kind things about this place; The only con is that it is $70,000 a month and they do not accept insurance.

As someone with previous medical trauma, I am normally terrified of going to the emergency room. However, I was having breathing issues around midnight that I needed to get checked out. All of the staff that I interacted with at Heywood had incredibly warm bedside manner. They were all the epitome of professionalism and very through in caring for me, and as a result I was entirely at ease for the nearly thirteen hours that I was admitted for. Since I started going here about 4 years ago I got a great therapist named Justin Mertz. We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. Also I had very good interactions with the Nurse Practitioners at New Beginnings. They all are great and good resources for psychiatric medications. Thank you all at New Beginnings.
