It’s the perfect balance of hard boundaries and high expectations but also love and encouragement for what these teens need as they come from addiction to living life again! They were the second treatment center I went to and they are part of the reason that I just hit 3 years of sobriety last month (July 2026). Like most guys, I was not happy about the idea of being in residential treatment at first. But, looking back now, I can say that I needed Stonewater and being there forced me to get 90 days of sobriety, which allowed me to start thinking clearly again. About halfway through my stay there, I actually started fully participating in groups and trying to use the coping skills they were teaching me. It was not perfect and neither was I, but I can say that I think Stonewater was good for me. Jeff Noles was the first therapist that ever really understood me and that I trusted. I also liked Houston and Farmer. Not every resident is going to get along with every staff member, but they do want the best for you, and I felt safe there every day. I met someone there that I still talk to regularly and consider one of my best friends. The support you get from the other guys in treatment is something you don’t realize has impacted you until you leave. The sober living homes are beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable. I am appreciative of the loads of groceries provided for the house, as well as, the freedom given to work a job while there. A house with other women on the path of recovery gave me a sense of community and safety. We were provided transportation to meetings, jobs and Walmart which gave us time to meet others and go shopping. The classes are on the same campus as housing so it was very convenient. We came together as a community and had cookouts, played games and even went bowling. The director, therapist, coordinators and nurses are very understanding and more than willing and committed to helping and guiding us through our recovery progress. This is one of the best Sober Livings around and I would recommend it to anyone interested in changing their lives for the better. Thank you OTC. However, for most of your stay here there is literally nothing to do except sleep in your room and watch tv in the group area :( And even all of the nurses agree that they don't really do anything to actually "help" most people, other than it being essentially a holding tank to help you detox. BUT, believe I did actually get some benefit during my stay. And, believe it or not, it was from having conversations with the other patients who were there during my stay. So, it COULD potentially help you in some capacity, but if you're looking for a place with an actual structured "program" or trained staff that will work with to help you figure out some solutions to whatever it is you may be struggling with, then I would find some place else. After my treatment I was released to Bradford Health Services for "intensive outpatient" classes. Allison Neal and Melissa Wisdom are 2 employees at this facility. I have to say that they show more care and gave more help to me, than anyone in my entire recovery. They truly blessed my walk. And if it wasn't for them, I would have relapsed a couple of times.
