I was sick and scared when I arrived, but the transformation that occurred for me during the 80 days I spent on the mountain was nothing short of a miracle.
I quickly recognized that hard work on my part needed to be done, or I'd be miserable and missing out on the gifts of the program. Thankfully, there is an incredible staff in place who walked with me through the introspection I had to do and showed me that recovery was possible. I marked 5 months sober yesterday and I truly believe that God removed my alcoholic obsession while I was on the mountain.
Everyone's experience is different and I can only speak of my own, but I personally could not see myself succeeding as I did in any other facility. I'll be thankful to Green Mountain for the rest of my life.

Serenity at Summit New England is a modern residential treatment and recovery facility for substance use disorders in Haverhill, Massachusetts. They also address dual diagnosis disorders. This is when someone simultaneously struggles with addictive behavior and mental conditions. Their treatment options include medical detox, clinical stabilization | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I had an amazing, amazing stay. The dining staff made delicious food, especially the desserts. My only drawback would be that the facility is understaffed as far as techs go, but their drive, empathy, and kindness more than made up for it. I would especially like to thank Christine for being an ANGEL on Earth, and Annemarie for her dedication and care. The nursing staff did everything they could to ensure a comfortable, safe experience. I would recommend this facility to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis.

Such a great place! From the moment I very nervously, and hesitantly walked in I was treated with compassion and respect. I was in real trouble, my drinking was out of control for a long time, and my health and family were suffering. Serenity got me safely detoxed and sober, and then taught me how to stay that way. As I write this review I’m 14+ months sober. Thank you, Serenity! If you or someone you love has a substance use disorder, I highly recommend Serenity.

I cannot say enough good about Aware Recovery Care going back to February 2023. My first involvement was with their In-Home Detox team consisting of RN Jenn Aguire and nurses Tabitha and Krystal who came to my home for at least seven straight days to get me detoxed. This was critical to me as at the time I was unwilling to enter in residence detox having had a negative experience in the past. I credit them with saving my life. Their kind and compassionate care showed me that there was indeed some hope for me going forward. Following detox Aware counselors Sam Hayes and Amber Gelinas continued home visits working very closely with me in keeping me on the road to sobriety. I also received monthly assessments by an RN and a session with a Psychiatrist. After six months my insurance lapsed but thankfully I was eligible to enter their Alumni Program consisting of multiple Zoom meetings during the week with Aware professionals. In addition they also host various events in different locations with other Alumni of the program. You always feel that Aware is right there with you every step of the way. I could carry on much longer but let me finish by saying that I consider the Aware professionals I have dealt with to be more than just counselors but as friends as well. I am welcome back in the lives of my children and most importantly my Grandchildren. On November 24 I will be collecting my Nine Month sobriety chip at my AA Home Group. I credit a great deal of my success on Aware Recovery.

I was destined to enter the doors at The Granite House and when I arrived my spirit was at its lowest due to my habitual drug and Alcohol relapses. I can wholeheartedly say with conviction that the spirit Of God works through the Amazing human beings who work in this organization. In the beginning I called them staff but before I knew it they were my family. When brother Justin shared his testimony on more than one occasion I felt and heard the Holy spirit speak through him, he has truly inspired me and many others to " Never give up because there is a way". I will forever be grateful to my Heavenly Father for working through these beautiful people who have helped take me out of the darkness. I love them and plan on going back to share my testimony of my further progress in my Recovery journey.

I had been sober for 9 years, taking Suboxone but it was all a lie. I relapsed and everything came crashing down. I went to jail, almost caught a serious charge, was getting evicted from my apartment, my car ready to be repossessed and my life just seemed to spiral out of control. I was on the verge of suicide. I decided to go back to the methadone clinic and start IOP. My journey of healing began. It's just a slip, I will get back up even stronger than before. I know now who is important in my life and who isn't. If I want to change I need to start healing and loving myself first. Something I've never done, everyone else was first. Now it's time for me to be number one. My life matters I don't want to die.

The people that work here. That’s the difference. This place will absolutely, do whatever they can to help you. I honestly, can’t stress it enough.
This is run by Diana and she’s not just a big shot that stays in her office. The first week she was here, she invited me in, just to ask me how I was doing and if I needed anything to make it easier for me. Her door is always open and I always feel welcome. Felipe has been great to me from the moment I met him. He always makes the ins. problems or billing, much, much easier. Heidi and the nursing team, Sage, the two receptionists, and of course, my main man, Darrin. These people are now all friends, to me and I care for them all.
I do all my work and whatever is asked of me. If I have an appointment, I show up. I follow the program and I’ve had very few issues. It’s been one of the best moves I’ve made in my life.
Give this place a chance if you want to change things. I would refer anyone that wants a fresh start, here it is. This is it. Anyone can build a building but the people are always the key. In any business.
Anyway, thank you to all the friends I met at CTC and I and grateful to you. 😘

I was expecting this facility to be not as good as Boston, where I'm originally from, seeing that it has less of a budget; however, I was wrong. I have seen Adult & Teen Challenge change lives first hand! A little over 10 years ago my brother went through the program. He has been clean since then, owns his own business, built a beautiful and added 4 kids into their family since. My bother went through alot of programs and this is the only one that he ever stayed sober from. When my bother was in the program I met my now husband of 7 years. We have both stayed connected with the ministry through the years on the volunteer committee helping out where ever we could! We love being able to give back to a program that not only saved my brothers life but also led us together! My husband has not only stayed clean since he left the program but he is also has been able to restore alot of lost relationships since graduating which we give all praise to God for. We also offer help to anyone that is looking to be set free from addiction to get into to ATC! My cousin just also recently went through the program. Graduated last winter. He is now out on his own working and staying sober.

I walked through the doors of this program in 2013 homeless, in withdrawal, hungry, and empty inside after battling addiction for 15 years. Nothing worked. Methodone clinics, suboxone, 30-day rehabs, AA, NA, getting a job, going back to school, incarceration, overdosing, the threat of amputation, moving to a different location...none of it. This place offered an opportunity to change my life. After graduating in 2014, I worked here for another 6 years. Over the last 12 years, I've completed 2 degrees, including an undergraduate degree ATC allowed me to obtain while working there, married my wife and had a child, restored relationships with my family who'd done all they could but had had enough after 15 years of destruction, and remained abstinent from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol. Was it easy? No...unequivocally the hardest thing I've ever done. What longterm treatment offered was the time and place to address issues, experience the ups and downs in an environment that has support beyond anything I've ever known, and also build my relationship with God. Medical school was easier, surgical training has been easier, 28-hour days spent in the hospital and operating room are easier...marriage is...shoot even marriage is easier than Teen Challenge, but that's only because I've been equipped with everything I need to endure life's challenges - no matter what they are! Thank you for giving me another chance at life.

I’m honestly surprised to see negative reviews for Holy Family Hospital, because my experience here was absolutely the opposite. After a terrible encounter at Lawrence General Hospital (where I was dismissed by a rude receptionist who simply handed me a form and rolled her eyes) I came here with my toddler, who had just fallen down the stairs and hit his head. I was shaken, worried, and bracing myself for another upsetting interaction.
The moment I walked in, the receptionist was so kind and attentive. She noticed I was trembling and struggling to speak, so she handed me paper to write on and gently reassured me that my son would be taken care of right away. Not even a minute later, the triage nurse called us back to check for a concussion. Shortly after, the doctor came in, did a thorough exam, and calmly explained everything to reassure me that my son was okay. They told me the ER was full but were attentive to my son’s condition, checking in on his behavior while we waited. The triage nurse gave him medication a little later, and about an hour afterward we were admitted for observation.
The nurse we met was so sweet, caring, and even shared their own stories of their littles getting into accidents, which made me feel less alone. From the moment we arrived around 5pm until we left around 7pm, the process was smooth, efficient, and filled with genuine compassion.
As a first-time mother, I came in terrified, but I left relieved, grateful, and amazed at the professionalism and kindness shown to us. It truly felt like being wrapped in the support of caring professionals who treated us like family.
Thank you so much to everyone... from the reception staff to the nurses and doctor for turning such a frightening moment into one of comfort and reassurance. God bless you all!

Haverhill Behavorial Health has an approach to mental health care that is focused on getting you through whatever is causing you to feel the way you do. Their approach is kind of old school and may make most people upset with how they “treat” you. Meaning you aren’t allowed your phone, only at specific times. This is only to have you socialize and get to know other people there. The staff is very supportive but is stern to most of the “bad behavior” that happens. They will intervene with arguments before they become fights. Becky’s dual diagnosis meetings were very helpful in the sense that you got to hear other people stories and how everything in their lives have impacted them. Everyone is there to support eachother and try to get you through any issues you may have. But ultimately it’s up to you on how to manage yourself and in turn others. My experience was very helpful and completely changed my outlook on a lot of things.
