I’ve seen a few different therapists and have learned everyone has different teaching methods that may not suit you individually. Don't let courtesy stop you from asking to change to a different provider. However it's a bit unfortunate they removed services from over the phone for those that live far but don't have the means to video call. He will attempt to remedy a condition with pharmaceuticals (when necessary) alongside natural treatments. He will listen to what you have to say, and keeps an open mind vis-a-vis treatment options. Randal had helped me become more confident in myself while Richard had helped me understand my relationship with life and god deeper, and they gave me the opportunity to go forward to another sober living out in Huntington Beach, which has all lead to me coming up on 2 years sober this months, a finance I love, and a life that I feel like I’m thriving in. Shadow mountain was a fundamental part of my life changing from relentless drug abuse and hurting myself and others around me, to growth in myself and a life where I have value and purpose. The staff, led by the amazing Randall Staton, is extraordinary; many professionals passionate about helping people like me. The facility itself is nestled in Shadow Mountain and it is well maintained and very comfortable. The mountain itself is a very spiritual place. It has a lot of power and one can feel it just by being there. If you or a loved one needs help with addiction, I highly recommend Shadow Mountain Recovery in Taos, New Mexico. I mean it is a rehab it's not summer camp. Everyday wasn't sunshine and rose's. The morning meditation down to the one on one with my counselor " straight to the point and no BS!" This was and I hope my only time going. I was there in the middle of covid and snow storms but the friendships and experience I will always remember. You must fit the system or the system will absolutely ignore you. Seek the help of the administrators and the intake nurses and carefully follow their directions otherwise you will suffer all kinds of frustrations. Be kind to the little folks. They will help you. The more senior folks are frustrated with the system as well and don't have that much time to assist you. So do yourself a favor and really pay attention to the junior people. Have your act together beforehand. Search the internet and know what you need and what the system can provide. That way unrealistic expectations do not frustrate them as well as you.
