I was visiting family there and one of the nurses there, Samantha I believe, or Sam, was very kind and funny. And genuinely seemed like she cared about the children and patients there. She was really helpful and made the experience there a pleasant one. I had heard not great things about the place and that the staff was rude and uncaring. But she surprised me by how good of a person she was. It made me feel more relieved about having a family member there with someone like her around.

I was admitted in early July. While my stay was helpful for my mental health, everything after I was discharged has been a complete train wreck. I was told my FMLA paperwork would be completed before I left. I personally submitted it to the military unit and trusted that it would be handled properly. That was a mistake.
I’ve left voicemail after voicemail and no one bothers to respond. Zero follow-up, zero accountability. Because of their lack of professionalism and total disregard, my FMLA paperwork was never filed, which means I did not get paid for the time I was in their care. Now I’m dealing with financial stress and anxiety all over again, thanks to them. It’s honestly disgusting how little they care once you’re out the door.
It’s sad because there was one person who truly made a difference in my life: Sergio “El Guapo.” I owe my life to him. His genuine compassion, energy and motivation reminded me what real caregiving looks like. The way he treated me and others showed me the true meaning of empathy. His spirit will always follow me, and I will forever be grateful for him.
Too bad the rest of the system completely dropped the ball.
If you’re coming here and need ANY paperwork done (especially FMLA), don’t expect them to care once you’re discharged. They’ll smile in your face and then disappear. Totally unprofessional and irresponsible, and now I’m paying the price for their negligence.

I would rather die than have to step foot into this emergency room ever again. I went in for weird heart symptoms and instead of helping me they ran every drug test without my consent or notifying me then charged my insurance 7k dollars. And I was treated horribly by staff and they tried to discharge me without me ever seeing a doctor. Absolutely treated me like I was less than human because they assumed I was an addict. And then when all those tests came back negative showing I was not on any substances and still having chest pain and heart symptoms, they discharged me. Deplorable behavior.

This saddens my heart because you're supposed to care for patients in this field especially, and the workers at the front desk do not care. They don't even listen to the psychiatrist when she asks them to make a copy of something! Never call you back even when they say they would. Purposely hang up on you because you're rightfully irate as a single mother with a child who's livelihood depends on this office. Dr. Mandela is nice and does what she can but I'm really considering looking for a new psychiatrist due to the unprofessionalism at the front. I even asked the girl for her name and she didn't want to give but it's okay because the look on all their faces when you walk in shows the service you're gonna get. Dirt rotten. McDonald's gives better care than these people which is just SAD. Even considering holistic healing for my child at this point. When she finally gave me her name it is "azul" 😆 so Azul I can say DEFINITELY does not care about your child's mental health.

I am filing a formal complaint against Emergence Health Network with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. If I could give them 0 stars I absolutely would. My husband is prescribed a controlled substance, meaning he has to see a Psychiatrist every month in order to be prescribed. Texas is a state that does not allow paper scripts. He has run into the issue of having to have his meds partially filled due to pharmacy issues. He has then called to explain the situation to the nurses and they assure him they will speak to the MD and get him to send another electronic script for the missing doses. This NEVER happens. Leaving daily voicemails for staff remain unreturned for weeks at a time. Then when he is absolutely on the verge of running out of his meds, they tell him he must schedule another appointment in order to be prescribed his remaining half. When this happens, they insist on scheduling him for the following month, meaning that he will STILL BE WITHOUT his medication, until then. When they miraculously find an opening, they give him appointments WITHOUT actually putting them into the system, meaning he is still WITHOUT his medication. This has happened consecutively for the past 3 months. As someone who works in the mental health field, I am shocked and appalled that they would let this continually be an issue for their patients. I've had enough and it's time for an investigation to happen.

This clinic is garbage. No one answers the phone, you spend 15 to 30 minutes on hold no matter what time of day. All my appointments have had to be made through the main VA health customer service because of this. When having my first PCM meeting, she barely paid attention to what I was saying, then I had to wait in the middle of my appointment so she could make notes and help another patient. I’m currently in the process of switching clinics.

A nurse decided that she would hang up on me today because I let her know that she was exhibiting a very defensive attitude towards me. I was trying to reschedule an appointment that I had just noticed I missed yesterday. I wasn't blaming her but she apparently took it personal. I normally get a text and a call, I was not aware that those reminders are only in place when there are volunteers available. Whoever you are, you're probably having a bad day but understand that being condescending and rude it's not going to fix that and it will not make you feel better. It's a shame for the good, courteous and caring people I've had the chance to interact with while at this clinic because people like you make the whole place look bad.
