Questions were answered in full and with complete understanding.
With every review on here that is negative, it’s either a parent fully believing a child’s anecdote of feeling like the professional is judging them, or a client feeling unseen because of a minor miscommunication.
With both of those, I have felt the exact same way. But you will get this with everything if you’re in a bad place. And you cannot get help if you never give second chances or try to help yourself.
I’ve been going to this clinic for 8 years, since I was 12. I am schizophrenic, and did not ever expect myself to be content, let alone alive by 18. I want to personally thank the front desk scheduling staff for being kind and welcoming, I want to thank the crisis center staff and volunteers who show up day and night for us, I want to thank William Mchaffy for showing a genuine interest in my improvement and patience for my rocky growth, and I want to thank Cindi Long for staying with me till she and I both left the town to move on, her to continue to help other, and me to continue to help myself.
I wouldn’t be where I am without the help of these courageous and kind citizens who simply wanted to make the world a better place.

Brightview in Wilmington, Ohio has truly been a lifesaver for me. The staff there is truly compassionate and caring. I was an emotional mess when I first stopped there. I didn’t even have an appointment, but I knew I had to get help right away. I’ll be forever grateful to the nurse, Linda, who came to my aid. She welcomed me and my tears with open arms. All of the other staff are truly amazing as well. My Dr. Don truly has a heart of gold and my counselor Lisa is Heaven Sent! I’ve never felt judged or uncomfortable in any way. Everyone that works there is amazing! My thanks goes out to Paula, Lola, Amanda and ALL the staff that have been there to help me through the struggles life has thrown at me this last year. Staff are angels and all of them truly care about your well being, and want to see you thrive. Sadly theres only one doctor there and they work once a week, and they're quite a bit stingy with certain medications (Like amphetamines for ADHD and Benzos for panic disorder). Highly reccomend this place for therapy and some mental health medications, but I'd look elsewhere for primary care.

My experience with this place has been pretty great! My son has ADHD and he has always gotten good counseling and they've even listened to my issues to a certain extent also as a way to help my son. Also, the doctor that my son sees is very good with him and very careful not to over-medicate. Occasional trouble getting in touch with someone there would be my only issue.

Update: 526 days sober and going strong. I have definitely had cravings and vulnerable points, but have managed to stay sober thanks in large part to the ridge.
I'm at 8 months sober today and can say that the things I learned at the Ridge still help me every day- literally. I am still in the aftercare program and getting a lot out of it. If you need help this is a great place to build a foundation for sobriety (and abstinence from other drugs as well).
Summary: The Ridge is an excellent comprehensive treatment program for alcohol use disorder (and others). I personally had an exceptional experience with the residential treatment program, intensive outpatient therapy, and aftercare. Nothing about this experience was easy but I am confident that due to my experience with The Ridge I have a solid recovery foundation (I am just over 4 months sober currently).

-I felt prepared when I left and have continued to feel that way (it has been difficult but I have the tools)

My advice if you are going to a program like The Ridge (these things helped me to have continued success today)
-follow the rules, yes they may seem silly
-do awkward things they ask like getting a temporary sponsor and numbers at meetings
-listen to their advice, they may says things that sound stupid,my experience is that the things I think sound stupid end up being the pertinent ones
-try to relax into the time; enjoy not having to do a ton of chores, cook for yourself etc
-take the time to build a new hobby
I electected to go to The Ridge when I came to terms with the fact that I have an alcohol use disorder. I was receiving psychiatric care and my provider gently led me to acknowledge this. Two providers independently recommended The Ridge when I expressed interest in treatment.
Residential
I initially signed up for the 30 day program but decided to stay longer as I was getting a lot out of the program and am really happy that I did.
Residential days are very full. The beginning of the day is filled with groups. The afternoon has time for recreational activities (no naps). A lot of people take up pickleball during this time but there is also the option to go to the pool (when open), do art, write, etc. Evenings there are 12 step meetings in the community.
Accomodations
I stayed in a private room which I would say was Marrott quality. Cleaning services are provided. You are expected to make your bed (a pretty minor thing). The meals are excellent and snacks are freely available. The culinary staff are great- very personable and great educators. It was sufficiently comfortable and quiet enough to get quality sleep.
Nursing
Nursing staff were generally available and very helpful. Medication time windows could be a bit tight but were feasible.
Recovery support specialist staff
Recovery support specialists helped with sessions, daily questions, and herding everyone, They all have different personalities but in general were very easy to get along with. Supervisory staff were very helpful and responsive.
Counselors
Generally had very helpful sessions, individual counseling was very helpful.
Lumiere has truly changed my life completely. I was treated so kind in inpatient treatment. The nurses , doctor and counselors were amazing.Im in outpatient now and still receiving top notch recovery! If you really want to change your life call and get help at Lumiere. I love this place and the staff is awesome!! You can do it!!

As a family member of someone struggling with addiction, finding the right facility felt overwhelming and terrifying. Lumiere changed everything for us. From the very first phone call, the staff treated our loved one with compassion, dignity, and genuine care. They didn’t judge— they understood.
Watching the transformation that happened inside those walls was incredible. Lumiere didn’t just address the addiction; they helped rebuild hope. The staff made our family feel included and supported. They communicated with us, reassured us, and walked us through the hardest moments with patience and kindness.
What meant the most is that their support didn’t end when our loved one was discharged. They followed up, checked in, and continued offering encouragement and resources. You can tell they truly care about long-term recovery, not just the time spent in the facility.
Our family is so grateful for Lumiere.
This place hands down is the best rehab center to go to for help with addiction. They will help with anything you are struggling with. Me and my girl was homeless on drugs with nothing . Now we are on a path to greatness and out of the streets. TCC MADE MY LIFE GREAT AGAIN!!!

I 10/10 recommend Hope Valley Recovery Treatment Center to anyone who truly wants a better life. Not just a break from your drinking and using, but a life you no longer want to run from. They’ve saved/changed mine and hundreds of others, providing a unique experience tailored to all walks of life. I’ve been to other treatment centers throughout my struggles with alcoholism and nothing comes close to what these amazing people have to offer. HVR will forever have a special place in my heart.

They will take care of you and set you up for your next step to recovery with as good of service as it gets. Learned alot during group there and it has completely changed my mindset. The staff is so nice and very polite and they go out of the way to help you try to get whatever you need if you need a social worker if you need a mental health counselor, any doctors appointments they strive to help you get back on your feet. The counselors are amazing. They’re a genuinely care and they genuinely want to help overall I love Brightview. I’ve been going here for a few years. This is one of the top drug and alcohol centers. I think in Scioto County Ohio.

If it wasn't for Eastway I would have been dead by now. I've been with them for 15 years. But their housing program is okay. I also like the fact that there's a pharmacy right there inside. I've been using Eastway's Pharmacy since they opened up. I definitely like that your meds can be delivered to your front door IF you have No Way of getting to the Eastway building. IF you have (a) prescription(s) that needs to be filled the same day you go in for an appointment with a Doctor they will have it filled by the time you're done with your appointment. I will Always recommend Eastway to someone that needs mental health and proper medications. I like the staff that works there. Everyone is very nice to you and they usually have a smile on their face. I try to get a laugh out of one of them and it usually works. As long as Eastway has their doors open I will continue to go there. The staff is wonderful. I'm glad that I have a case manager for longer than two years. My case manager now (and has been for 4 solid years.) She goes above and beyond the call of duty. (She's been there for about 20 years). She helps me go grocery shopping and soon to do laundry up the road. I Pray everyday that I don't lose the case manager I have now. I have pleasant feelings for Eastway. IF you get the chance to be a client at Eastway, remember that getting the right medication can take some time. It took them close to 13 years of trying different medications to get the right regimen that works for ME. I also like the fact that there's a Bus Stop right out front of the building. 😎🤗🤓💜✌️🤙👌💟☮️. I hope you can enjoy the care and staff there. Everyone there is a happy, pleasant person. I LOVE EASTWAY!!! The ONLY way I'll go somewhere else is IF they close their doors. My mother told me about Eastway and when I started the "Journey" there I had a sense of good things to come my way. The rollercoaster of emotions that I was going through finally ended when I became a client at Eastway. At first I didn't like it there because of TWO case managers they Always had a funky attitude towards me and dismissed the fact that I'm there for Mental Health. I'm getting treatment for my Bipolar Disorder. Looking back I'm Glad that I got help from them. IF I didn't make the first appointment to go there, I HIGHLY DOUBT I would be alive right now making this post. Eastway is the one facility that I recommend EVERYONE to go to for Mental Health. In my opinion and experience, Eastway is the place to go get help. Thank you Eastway for your help and this "journey" I'm on with y'all.

the important reason too go to eastway other than the nurse staff and Doctors.If you need help I highly recommend eastway.ps I'm doing very well on my meds and help from my case manager. Remember everything doesn't go your way . But the Doctors know thier job. You just have too do your part also.

I did ECT through Lindner Center late last year. Every person who worked there was kind, caring, and professional. Everything was explained thoroughly and all my questions were answered.
I wasn’t sure if the ECT was helpful but after a couple of months, everyone close to me saw it. I’m so thankful that I was able to help through Lindner. Previous to this, I had done basically all that was available (PHP, IOP, TMS, Ketamine), besides regular therapy sessions, and meds.
Update: It’s late Oct and I’ve been doing ECT since Dec, so close to a year. My mental health has continued to improve and I haven’t been in crisis all year!

This is the best clinic I have been to so far and I've been in treatment for over 10 years. Highly recommend this place to anyone look to start.The dr and counselors are very nice and willing to help you with your problems and really care. I switched because they offer split dosing because I was getting sick later in the day and all the other place didn't want to help but it is really going to be a big improvement for me.

John Lyons and the team at Cedar are truly amazing!!!! My daughter struggled with drug use her entire teens and into early adulthood and when she finally decided to go to rehab the mama bear in me wanted her close to home. After researching rehabs in the Ohio area we toured cedar oaks and decided that it was the best fit. John stayed in contact with me her entire stay and gave updates on my daughters progress and for that I am so thankful. It gave me such piece of mind to know the people looking after her truly cared. My husband attended Cedar Oaks in May of 2024 and we had the absolute best experience with the facility and staff! I thought there was no hope in him recovering from his alcoholism and now he has over a year sober! Literally from the first phone call I knew this was going to be good for not only him but for our family. They provided such great insight into the addiction process because this isn’t something I’d ever thought I’d experience as a partner and even offered family therapy sessions which I attended via phone as we are out of state. My husband is not the same man I watched get on the plane to treatment and I truly owe that to Cedar Oaks.
