I went in for a dog bite to my hand that had happened about 72 hours earlier. I was checked in within about 15 minutes, got my vitals taken and wristband, and then waited about an hour and a half to get back to a room. They were extremely busy, though. A couple of veterans in the waiting room who had been there before even said it was the busiest they had ever seen it. Once they got me back, everything moved pretty quickly. The nurse took my vitals and the doctor came in shortly after. He had already reviewed my records, knew my tetanus shot was still good, looked at my hand, and explained what he wanted to do. They sent me over for X-rays and offered to wheel me over, but I told them I could walk. I signed in at X-ray and literally about a minute later they called me back. Got the X-rays done, walked back to the ER, and within probably 5–10 minutes the doctor had already reviewed them. He came back in, explained what they showed, what the plan was, prescribed me an antibiotic, and told me what to watch for and to come back if anything changed. The nurse brought my paperwork in, took my wristband off, and I headed down to the pharmacy. Turned in the prescription and within about two minutes I had my medicine and was walking out the door. I know the VA gets a bad rap from a lot of people, and I’m sure everyone has different experiences, but I can only speak about mine. For as busy as they were, I thought they did a great job. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care. Muskogee VA was on point for me. Definitely a five-star experience. Staff on the 5th floor were so nice and amazing. The room I was in was massive and felt like I was in a suite. I was well taken care of. The nursing team for any procedure needing to be done kept me calm and talked me through it. They did everything to make me feel very comfortable during my stay. My basic needs were met. They always made sure my call light was near by, they cleaned my bedding and sheets daily. Housekeeping was amazing! If I had an issue it was addressed in a timely fashion. The staff were fun to talk to and share laughs to because some times “laughter is the best medicine”. I appreciate one over night nurse whom was able to give me a resource for free medical equipment! ER was very full and my daughter broke her leg and lots of road rash not only did he step in to help when I was carrying her back and forth to the bathroom but he jumped in to help her after we had been there for a while and not a lot of help. He took over her care, was very calm, reassuring, and did whatever he could to help ease her pain and worry. He then personally wheeled her to the car and made sure she was comfortably in the vehicle before leaving her. Emergency Rooms need more staff like Lyndall!!! This is by no means exclusive as I had so many guardian angels. I feel that I quite literally would be dead without their love and care: Dr. Ellis, Izzy, RN, Bethany CNA, Bri CNA, Lindsey RT, and Samara SST. There were so many others, but I felt loved and cared for this week. Thank you to all of these and many others. Thank you for not just taking care of me, but teaching me to do it myself. The staff that was there during my stay was an exceptional group of people. A day is always busy with a large variety of activities such as basketball, kickball, weight lifting, trust fall, disc golf, 12 step meeting's, chess, billiards, Native American chants, going in a Cherokee(I think) sweat lodge, help cooking meals once earned, learning to sew, and my favorite game we referred to as, hoccer, which involved a massive 5' or 6' yoga like ball. At the time I didn't always see it, but the rules were reasonable and helpful such as room had to stay clean, bed was made daily and one form of discipline for breaking rules was to write out a given sentence about the infraction many times. I was even allowed to paint the Choctaw nation seal on the wall while there, although my time was done before I was able to finish so hopefully someone else did. First time I’ve ever had to use the VA Emergency Room in Muskogee, and I have to say I was impressed. I went in for a dog bite to my hand that had happened about 72 hours earlier. I was checked in within about 15 minutes, got my vitals taken and wristband, and then waited about an hour and a half to get back to a room. They were extremely busy, though. A couple of veterans in the waiting room who had been there before even said it was the busiest they had ever seen it. Once they got me back, everything moved pretty quickly. The nurse took my vitals and the doctor came in shortly after. He had already reviewed my records, knew my tetanus shot was still good, looked at my hand, and explained what he wanted to do. They sent me over for X-rays and offered to wheel me over, but I told them I could walk. I signed in at X-ray and literally about a minute later they called me back. Got the X-rays done, walked back to the ER, and within probably 5–10 minutes the doctor had already reviewed them. He came back in, explained what they showed, what the plan was, prescribed me an antibiotic, and told me what to watch for and to come back if anything changed. The nurse brought my paperwork in, took my wristband off, and I headed down to the pharmacy. Turned in the prescription and within about two minutes I had my medicine and was walking out the door. I know the VA gets a bad rap from a lot of people, and I’m sure everyone has different experiences, but I can only speak about mine. For as busy as they were, I thought they did a great job. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care. Muskogee VA was on point for me. Definitely a five-star experience.

I graduated on June 18th 2025. Yes the program is tough & many don't understand the process of all the rules but sometimes tough love and structure is needed. The staff are amazing people who really do care. They represent love and you see God working through them to help all the ladies! It's not an easy job or calling but God uses them to transform life's. Most of these life's are in some type of trouble or turmoil! I came into the program completely defeated I was very bad on drugs with no hope and just empty inside I knew I had to change or I was going to die or be in prison and never be apart of my kids life. Since being at Freedom House I’m no longer bound by addiction and I’m able to be a positive safe mom for my children and since completing the program I stayed to serve at Freedom House as an intern and God has truly changed my life and my destination here! Very clean hospital. Staff on the 5th floor were so nice and amazing. The room I was in was massive and felt like I was in a suite. I was well taken care of. The nursing team for any procedure needing to be done kept me calm and talked me through it. They did everything to make me feel very comfortable during my stay. My basic needs were met. They always made sure my call light was near by, they cleaned my bedding and sheets daily. Housekeeping was amazing! If I had an issue it was addressed in a timely fashion. The staff were fun to talk to and share laughs to because some times “laughter is the best medicine”. I appreciate one over night nurse whom was able to give me a resource for free medical equipment! Some of the staff sure did go above and beyond for my care during my stay.

This review is for Lyndall in the Emergency Room. 100% the best staff. ER was very full and my daughter broke her leg and lots of road rash not only did he step in to help when I was carrying her back and forth to the bathroom but he jumped in to help her after we had been there for a while and not a lot of help. He took over her care, was very calm, reassuring, and did whatever he could to help ease her pain and worry. He then personally wheeled her to the car and made sure she was comfortably in the vehicle before leaving her. Emergency Rooms need more staff like Lyndall!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing people that took care of me this shift on 4th floor. This is by no means exclusive as I had so many guardian angels. I feel that I quite literally would be dead without their love and care: Dr. Ellis, Izzy, RN, Bethany CNA, Bri CNA, Lindsey RT, and Samara SST. There were so many others, but I felt loved and cared for this week. Thank you to all of these and many others. Thank you for not just taking care of me, but teaching me to do it myself. You encourage without judgment or shame. Truly, love you all so much.

Food was great too.

Absolutely wonderful experience with Leslie Hughes and her nurse (cannot remember her name im sorry) very thoughtful, thorough, warm, professional. The woman who did my labs also was awesome. Thank you! I need to add that Redbird dental clinic is absolutely wonderful. Dr. Beavers and also the dentist i usually see (young woman with red hair) are so professional and kind and extremely good at what they do. Three interactions with this hospital. All of them have been so helpful and kind. Of course there is bustle, and things need to get done, put everyone seems to be doing their best and treats you like a person rather than a number. The treatments have also been defective and as simple as they could be made. Thank you hospital staff!

Jack Brown Center helps Native American juveniles to stop an active addiction while learning to live and cope without the source for the addiction. The staff that was there during my stay was an exceptional group of people. A day is always busy with a large variety of activities such as basketball, kickball, weight lifting, trust fall, disc golf, 12 step meeting's, chess, billiards, Native American chants, going in a Cherokee(I think) sweat lodge, help cooking meals once earned, learning to sew, and my favorite game we referred to as, hoccer, which involved a massive 5' or 6' yoga like ball. At the time I didn't always see it, but the rules were reasonable and helpful such as room had to stay clean, bed was made daily and one form of discipline for breaking rules was to write out a given sentence about the infraction many times. I was even allowed to paint the Choctaw nation seal on the wall while there, although my time was done before I was able to finish so hopefully someone else did. This changed my life drastically and I am always thankful for my experience at the Jack Brown Center!

After years of being in and out of hospitals for various reasons in several different states, I can say this one has by far the best care I have ever received. Every single staff member has gone above and beyond and genuinely wants to you feel as comfortable and cared for as you can. My only complaint is that there’s not a vending machine full of snacks directly next to my bed.

From them moment we arrived at the hospital we were treated with respect. Dr Glidden and the ER staff were awesome. They attended to my husband with care and compassion. They explained everything in a way we could understand. All of the ER staff was very friendly.

The people who work here are the best I've ever dealt with at any hospital. They respect your dignity, they encourage you, and they are always eager to help, regardless of your circumstances. The food is good, too. But really, every nurse, technician, doctors are attentive, friendly and professional. I highly recommend then for all your Healthcare needs. A+ treatment and service.

I can't say enough good things about this place. These folks have helped me more in 2months than other places did in years!!! My therapist and case manager are my angels! I love that place. It's expensive, but so is drug addiction. We need more places like that in the river valley. I don't understand why we don't have them. If you were like me and looking for a miracle this is the place. If you want your sobriety you have to try. The staff there is super nice and willing to help you in any way they can. If you're looking for a miracle start here my friend. If you're tired of who is looking back at you in the mirror then change it. Rightway Medical will help you. Good luck and God bless.
