The Ranch was overall a great experience.... The property has great views, amazing sunsets and wild life, an amazing kitchen staff serving great food, clean rooms. Lots of activities like a rope course and archery, yoga, music, art, volleyball, basketball court, pickle ball, horseshoes, instruments to play and a pool table. A cool medicine wheel they take you to on walks. The staff was great and helpful for most part. Went there for mental health and the program was great! Loved learning the DBT Skills. Substance does the same program so it's not a traditional 12 step program. It helps that when you leave you leave with a community that understands what your going though.... just bring a blanket with you the ac really works in room!

*Long review but context is needed/condensed for googles review limits* 0/5⭐
I was admitted to Innovo strictly for voluntary mental health treatment, NOT substance abuse. I only stayed five days—arriving Fri evening, and leaving Wed. While I actively tried to engage—attending groups, completing homework, journaling, and taking medication—the facility created a toxic, controlling, and unsettling environment.
The level of control was shocking. During intake, patients endure invasive strip searches (even squatting/coughing). I was placed on a strict 7-day "blackout period" with zero communication. My phone and items were taken before signing paperwork designating emergency contacts—my sister didn't even know she was listed until today. Even the welcome packet reflects this imbalance: page one is all addiction, page two is the 12-step program, and mental health is barely elaborated on.
After the blackout, you get one monitored 10-minute call per week. Calls are withheld as punishment, even if you miss group due to heavy side effects from medications they prescribed and administered.
Group care was equally concerning. Counselor B (a recovering addict) consistently equated pure mental health struggles to addiction, reframing everything through that lens. Meanwhile, technicians act like glorified babysitters, carrying tablets logging your location to the minute, conducting mandatory 30-minute room checks, and staring at you.
Staff communication was non-existent. During a panic attack, nursing told me, "Oh, you're just detoxing," because nobody informed them I was there solely for mental health.
By Sun, I realized this wasn't the right place and they simply weren't allowing me to leave. When I said I wanted to leave, Technician K gave me attitude and snapped, "No, no, you are not going to AMA." I replied, "Oh, but I am," and she snapped back, "Well, you can't do it tonight because none of the counselors and staff are here... and we don't process that stuff." I said, "I'm fully aware... which is why I'm doing it in the morning."
Later Sun, Counselor B brought me into his office to call my husband and sister, but sat there interrupting and angering my sister, keeping me from speaking freely. Knowing they wouldn't process my discharge, I walked out through an unalarmed door to a gas station. Counselor B lied to my husband claiming techs were driving around searching for me. After I agreed to return, Tech M told my husband they would "make it happen" for us to talk, yet staff never told me. That evening, I asked a tech to tell my husband I loved him and was sorry—a message staff never delivered.
By Mon, my husband emailed Counselor C asking why I hadn't called. She claimed I was in a blackout until Wed. He insisted, and on Tue at 10 AM called panicked and angry. Counselor C pulled me from lunch at 11:45 AM, and I officially requested to AMA at noon Tue.
Delay tactics escalated. On Wed morning, a tech admitted they had no idea I was leaving AMA. During group, Counselor C let patients actively challenge me for leaving. Between 1:30–2:30 PM, Counselor C physically blocked my doorway, trying to manipulate me into staying by insinuating my husband was dangerous because he was unmedicated (he was just furious at their deceit).
On Tue at 2 PM, a nurse asked if my sister was an emergency contact and asked her name to "verify," claiming she called. Staff hid the truth: Aunt M was actually calling repeatedly demanding answers on why my release was delayed. They disguised it as my sister because they forgot her name. I only found out on the bus ride home.
They dragged my release out for 27 hours. When I confronted Counselor B about lying to my husband, he gaslit me, then completely stopped talking to me and snubbed me. Non-medical staff stopped assisting me. Counselor C admitted to my husband she was deliberately "not going to speed the process up."
I was discharged at 3:30 PM Wed. Upon leaving, they failed to return my pencil sharpener, lighter, and 1 RX I had come in with. Innovo prioritizes total control over patient safety and autonomy.

Very impressed and surprised because there are some bad reviews when every team member I meet was extremely caring and understanding of everyone's personal situations. They really care about you getting better and will help give you the tools and motivation to get there. I started in the intensive outpatient program which was important to my recovery in that it gave me a regular schedule and it felt good to get in that rhythm and everyone I meet in that class was respectful to each other we learned and had a good time. I recently moved out onto the regular outpatient and continue to meet new people who all share the same difficulties in life and openly share their stories and perspectives to identify our triggers and in my case: bad life traps and bad coping styles that lead to my addiction. We also are taught how to avoid the pit falls of addiction the through healthy coping mechanisms. They also started a new incentive program that awards healthy recovery based activities. Because of this program and the programs they provided me with outside of Guardenzia I was able to change my mindset and come to a place where I can finally admit to myself of my past addiction and admit to myself I cannot ever drink again and I'm grateful to them for getting me to this place where I can finally accept that.

Amazing!!! Helpful and caring!!! There’s nothing bad here nothing!! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is and refreshing!!! I have been on methadone 4 years and had to relocate back to central Pa and when I made arrangements with my old clinic at ARS, they tried to literally kill me!!! When I moved my entire life and had it all switched so I thought until!!! I get there and then they say oh your insurance is for another county do until you switch it we cannot help you!!! And left me sitting in the room alone!! Just not even care or bothering with me!!! They make ppl want to relapse why bother when you don’t care this much but I rememenrr beinf told Mechanicsburg ctc does same day so w only 32 mins left I rushed over to here and the world of diff of care, wanting to help!!! Willing to work with you as anyone knows even if you have no insurance the state of pa will pay up to 90 days back bills so they got all my paperwork and my dosing
That day and let me dose and set me up!!! I cannot tell you how as I say defeated in the other clinic defeated crying hysterically I saw my entire sobriety flash and about to be gone before my eyes!! I went from homeless, destitute, a person no one saw as worthy to a career in retail management, built myself to a respectable person agian that also helps others in recovery with at least that first step and now use my career to help give a job to those otherowise others look over!!
So thank you sooooo much Mechanicsburg CTC because of you!!! You helped this one persons world stay so much brighter!!! Thank you!!! If you need help in anyway please do yourself the biggest favor and just start here!!!
Good luck!!!

From the bottom of my heart, this place gave me a second chance at life. I walked through these doors full of pride, ego, and self, but I leave this program with a new perspective and well on my way to becoming someone I can genuinely be proud of.
That transformation didn’t happen overnight. It came through surrender, vulnerability, honesty, and a full commitment to the process that this program provided.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire BoldSteps team. I will never forget the opportunities, support, lessons, and memories that came from this experience. My endless gratitude goes out to every person who pours their time, energy, and care into making this program what it is.

My experience with Hoffman Homes has left me deeply grateful that we have such a remarkable, although not well-known, organization in our community. I am privileged to have served on the Board of Directors for the past six years. Hoffman Homes offers a variety of programs for healing and a fully accredited school.
The Residential Treatment Program gives children who have suffered extreme trauma an opportunity to develop skills that can help them cope with their past and look forward to a brighter future. The Therapeutic Shelter Program houses and supports children in custody of the state or county children’s services. The Transitional Living Program gives girls aged 16-21 support and assistance to develop the life-skills needed to transition to independent living. In addition to traditional therapeutic methods, art, drama, and animal (including equine) therapies are available to the children at Hoffman. The recently added Outpatient Clinic offers support to individuals of any age, as well as group and family therapy. The Hoffman Academy is an accredited school, licensed by the state, that provides academic instruction and emotional support for children K-12 who reside at Hoffman and for children from the community. The Academy uses positive reinforcement and trauma-informed restorative practices.

To be completely truthful, things have really turned around here whether it’s new leadership or addressing the staff shortage. I’m not sure. However we have been extremely impressed with the Care during the past week.
The nurses, assistants, and aids have all been top-notch and extremely caring and considerate and helpful. The weekday staff are incredible with their attention and staying on top of care and concerns! I noticed the weekend staff struggling with being short staffed, but everyone was pulling together and really communicating well and trying to keep up with literally a full floor
I would highly recommend this hospital, especially the folks on the sixth floor. They really went over and above with great attitudes and huge hearts in service. Definitely something has turned around here at this hospital and I think we should provide them with some grace for responding to the horrible reviews that have existed earlier this year.
Thank you to the staff on the sixth floor for all that you have done for our family. You have really brought some peace of mind and I am very grateful for your kindness and assistance to my mother!

I cannot praise the ICU staff nearly enough. They took care of my partner with the utmost professionalism, care, respect, and kindness. They were consistent with care and extremely kind to me and the rest of our family. RNs Olivia, Matt, Faye, and Amee are especially exceptional.

I had a surprisingly amazing experience in my time under care by Chasity Evans. Rachel and Tasha were great to me as well. I looked fwd to my wkly therapy visits, spanned over one yr. Im 48 yrs old, with addiction issues, mental health and physical health issues, and when I started with pyramid had legal troubles, stemmed from a substance use dui, when I also od'd while driving. Many yrs ago, my therapist of 13 yrs retired, since then I lost all hope in ever clicking with another therapist. I was originally sent to chasity, court mandated, but after I received my completion certificate, I wanted to and was able to continue therapy with her for an additional 7 mths or so, which helped me so much more than she already did. I now have the confidence in continuing counseling, and finding a therapist for long term. All 3 ladies are surely missed !!

Harrisburg, PA | Daystar Center is a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania nonprofit addiction treatment program offering long term residential care and recovery housing for adults and transitional age young adults. The program addresses alcohol use, drug and opioid addiction and cooccurring mental health conditions. Daystar’s approach centers on sustained, community base | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Its a great place. Counselors and staff. I was there I guess through Christmas back in '20 or '21. At the time we were quarantined there and I struggled with that, I had got on suboxone basically so I could get out of there and not violate my parole. However that wasnt a reflection of the ppl or staff there who all were not just in recovery but active in recovery and with quality sobriety. For anyone trying to get there life in order it is as good a place as ive ever been in and ive lived recovery and relapse I guess almost 30 years now. Oh I should mention at some point after I left they started to allow Suboxone there as far as a MAT program or whatever it is
