It's not a 5 start resort by any means but as far as psychiatric hospitals go, this was one of the better ones. They encourage family visits and home meals. They did stabilize him. I wish they would have worked more on evaluating and diagnosing while he was there but the doctor and care team contacted me with regular updates and I could call whenever I wanted to check in. I was so depressed and anxious before going in that I couldn't function and was rapidly losing weight, couldn't get out of bed. I'm grateful for my time in Philhaven, getting medications and coping skills to cope. The staff and everything was amazing. I'm also thankful for the psychiatrist Dr. Khan who gave me a mental health diagnosis that actually made sense. I can't believe I went my whole life without someone diagnosing me properly and I'm so glad Dr. Khan was able to. I am now able to handle my life and mental health. Thank you! At the time, I was given a scholarship but my parents still payed a lot of money. I had such a great experience there. I got to enjoy Father Bills Church every Sunday and also a counselor who was Native American and would take us deep into the forest and cleanse us with sage. I got so much from their program and am consistently using the coping skills I learned there to maintain my sobriety. A special shoutout goes to my therapist there, Tiffany, she was amazing and really helped me to learn to love myself again. I miss her terribly. My experience there was second to none and I would highly recommend it. If you are struggling with mental health and/or addiction this is tge place for you. Their office space is bright, calming and welcoming. All of the staff I interacted with were helpful, friendly and kind. I met with Shauna and I can't give her enough stars. She was professional, non-judgemental, understanding and very kind. I was not sure what to expect with Blueprints but I'd really recommend them to anyone needing their services. I felt had I needed further services or assistance, I would have been in really good hands. Which says a lot because I've had some bad mental health / social services experiences. The outpatient Supervisior, Erin L. assisted me in helping a family member into treatment. Her compassion to help others Is top priority. Her leadership with staff and clients are among the best. My counselor, Jon, was the best part of the experience. He was kind, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. He listened with care and helped me work through personal issues I was already trying to address. I also appreciated my group and the people I met there. Sharing experiences with them was therapeutic and made the program feel more worthwhile. That said, I had mixed feelings about the initial recommendation for IOP. While the program had value, I personally did not feel it was necessary for my recovery at the time. I had already been sober for several months, was already in therapy, and had been actively working on myself before starting the program. I left the evaluation feeling like my personal progress and circumstances were not fully taken into account. Even with insurance, the financial cost was difficult for me, and because of my situation, I felt I had little choice but to follow through with the recommendation.
