It's not a 5 start resort by any means but as far as psychiatric hospitals go, this was one of the better ones. They encourage family visits and home meals. They did stabilize him. I wish they would have worked more on evaluating and diagnosing while he was there but the doctor and care team contacted me with regular updates and I could call whenever I wanted to check in. I was so depressed and anxious before going in that I couldn't function and was rapidly losing weight, couldn't get out of bed. I'm grateful for my time in Philhaven, getting medications and coping skills to cope. The staff and everything was amazing. I'm also thankful for the psychiatrist Dr. Khan who gave me a mental health diagnosis that actually made sense. The therapist run all the groups and they are geared towards coping skills, changing your mindset from negative thoughts positive thoughts, for both mental health and substance abuse. Mental health Groups are separate from substance here, Which is amazing. The therapist that conduct the groups are phenomenal and You actually want to show up a group and pay attention because they keep your attention and are Some of the best at what they do. If you’re thinking of going anywhere else besides here. Please, From someone who’s been to a few impatient places, please think again. I would personally like to Thank every single BHT, Nurse, Therapist and All of the staff, For helping me more than any place has On my journey to healing from all the trauma that I’ve been through. She was professional, non-judgemental, understanding and very kind. I was not sure what to expect with Blueprints but I'd really recommend them to anyone needing their services. Explained what a ‘normal’ every day would look like. They don’t sugar coat anything and if you come there- they do NOT treat you like a prisoner and hold you accountable- per my husband who is the patient. The experience from Bold Steps vs the last place is night & day different. However, being at the outpatient building has been the best experience for me this far in my recovery.The staff is welcoming, understanding, and professional at all times. I have been attending regular groups since September, 2021. My groups consisted of ways to cope with my Mental Health and Addiction struggles. The outpatient Supervisior, Erin L. assisted me in helping a family member into treatment. Her compassion to help others Is top priority. Her leadership with staff and clients are among the best. She is an authentic version of Servant Leadership. The staff is organized and professional at all times. The therapists care Care for their clients. Every time I have interacted with the staff has been pleasant. They are easy to talk to about anything. They will assist you with anything you need. My counselor, Jon, was the best part of the experience. He was kind, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. He listened with care and helped me work through personal issues I was already trying to address. I also appreciated my group and the people I met there. Sharing experiences with them was therapeutic and made the program feel more worthwhile. That said, I had mixed feelings about the initial recommendation for IOP. While the program had value, I personally did not feel it was necessary for my recovery at the time. I had already been sober for several months, was already in therapy, and had been actively working on myself before starting the program. I left the evaluation feeling like my personal progress and circumstances were not fully taken into account. Even with insurance, the financial cost was difficult for me, and because of my situation, I felt I had little choice but to follow through with the recommendation.
