My counselor at marworth was Kayla who was exceptional going above and beyond to meet my needs. Also Alana who does the discharge aftercare went out of her way completely just to help me find a place to go down South she spent hours of her time when there's a full house at marwars. I couldn't thank her enough. She's also very beautiful lol The nursing staff was generally great, and most were supportive and respectful. A couple could be a bit difficult at times, but overall, the team made a positive difference in my stay. Your fed very well. Staff is great all around. They also have a Shield program for firefighters, police, EMTs, and vets. You will get know Emil a councelor who is incredible. The best meetings I went to where in the Shiels meetings. Wilkes Barre, PA | Wilkes Barre VA Medical Center is part of the VA network and is located in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. They provide a range of services for veterans and their families, including treatment for addictions and substance abuse. Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center is a Veteran focused substance use treatment program in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania offering ou | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I have OUTSTANDING Dr's, EVERY SINGLE person, from workers, nurses, aides, Dr's ARE FANTASTIC! I had an AWESOME Primary Dr. (Dr Sandra Balas who sadly resigned in August 2-25 and since, I had 2 of the MOST ARROGANT disrespectful MISERABLE Dr's I've ever encountered, but now I have Dr Rutkowski and I am THRILLED! Genuine man, straight forward, treats me with respect, listens and seems to be my "forever" VA Primary, I HOPE!
The Pain Management team is 2nd to none, and I sincerely mean that! I am a SEVERE chronic pain patient, with SEVERE spinal destruction, 24/7/365"headaches" (no one, including the best headache specialists around has a CLUE!) but the pain mgmt TEAM (it is a TEAM!) is sincerely THE BEST I've been treated by, something I am kind of an expert in since life as i once knew it came to an INSTANT end on Jan 18, 2004.
EVERYONE I deal with is PROFESSIONAL, and I don't have ONE Dr/therapist I dislike!
My lone complaint is the ****** n charge of the ER downright REFUSES to treat my "headaches" (seen the best, no known cause, no cure, requires IV pain meds when oral ones fail to work which is when it reaches or exceeds/8/10 and HE IS ALLOWED TO! Calling my Congressman, Patient Advocate (told me to leave him alone" "I'm a waste of his time" (because I called my Senator!) but I've been REPEATEDLY REFUSED TREATMENT, given a Tylenol, icepack and LITERALLY thrown out.
OK, I have ONE other complaint....the Adminstration side? When you find a DEDICATED person, they will bend over backwards for you but without that? WOW! WHAT A NIGHTMARE, especially as a new to the VA person.
My advice to every veteran, retiree, disabled veteran is this: GO! You will be SHOCLED at the professionalism, the abilities, and the fact that the people you MOST NEED to rely on, GENUINELY do everything they can to make SUIRE you get EVERYTHING you need.
Everyone from the therapists to the pharmacists TRULY CARE, and not going due to hearing "horror stories" is REALLY causing you to miss out on MOST OF YOUR CARE being handled by some of the BEST Dr's/people I've encountered in over 22 years as a disabled veteran! You will not regret this!

Hi. Recently had a heart cath done there! I would like to thank the three nurses on duty for them for being them. They were the most professional/knowledgeable/kind considerate/ lady’s I have ever encountered!! While having an emergency with another patient they still found time to take care of the rest of the patients, while dealing with this. In particular one girl who has only worked there 3 months had more knowledge and understanding, and compassion than someone 2 times here age. They were all fantastic and must say worked there butts off to make sure everyone was cared for as if you were family. General hospital be very proud of these lady’s!!

Although I do not want to be on a program like this, and am embarrassed to be, this one is like DAY, the other one being, NIGHT, in comparison!!! And from the MOMENT WE WALKED IN, I WAS NAUSEOUS AND DISGUSTED! I'm so happy to have finally decided to have made the change already. It's nice and cleaner. Smaller. The staff is better. And the program too is more LOGICAL. I haven't been here long enough to say more. But, already, I'm so much more impressed. And mad at myself that I didn't do this at least a year ago. It took the other place screwing me over to make a change. Yet the entire time I talked about THIS PLACE. LOL. UGH. And there are signs when I walked in this door that I am supposed to be here. Update: I had two more children here with good experiences. The only thing I would say is that I was not able to see a lactation consultant with my last baby. My baby was born Easter weekend, so I didn't even get to see an lacation consultant that Monday of discharge. When I had my first baby, there were three LCs employed there. Now, I think there is only one. I'd highly recommend that management would hire at least a second LC to be there on the weekends. The LC is available by phone after discharge but in person help would have been great!
Moses Taylor is the place to have your baby. I had a great stay here when I delivered my baby in January. The staff are nice, and I had a beautiful clean room in the Mom/Baby section. This was my third baby delivered here and if we have anymore, we plan to deliver here again!

There's is no way this place is not 5 star. I am 50 and have lived around the country and never ever received 5 star care from therapy to the case management to the out patient psych clinic. I can tell u first hand from the fiscal department all the way to the top director this place cares about one thing it's clients they do not put money or time over people. This is the only place I've gotten any results since I was 5. If your having a bad comment then u just don't know this place or didn't do your part. It's a two way street they can only offer and give u suggestions and support and stand with u through rough times and I'm alive today because childrens service center didn't give up in me. I am building healthy relationships with my children, my self esteem went from lower then dirt in the carpet to sky high. My drug dependency is at a zero I am sober . My health is at all all time high. I have never had so many people working for myself and at least o0 others I know the way this place does. If u haven't done your part or don't like something u dint have to run and leave a bad comment or stop going they are open and willing to guide u help u stand by u so please it hurts to see this isn't 5 star and I'm putting on the people leaving the reviews I've been going here a long time and do various different programs they have and my life just keeps getting better. Thank u to everyone from every secretary to the rehab to case management for all of your hard work and dedication to all of your clients equally .

Some ways of communication are outdated like not being able to leave direct voicemails with people, only leaving with office afaik. But they were great help in applying for Medicaid and counseling services. Getting appointment is difficult due to the demand for the current counselors , which is very unfortunate but understandable. Feels like a safe place to be in. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Geisinger staff. As a brand new patient, this was a terrible introduction to the healthcare system.
Over the weekend leading up to my scheduled procedure, our area was hit by a severe storm, and we lost power for multiple days. Because of this, I was unable to properly complete my pre-surgery preparations. I tried everything humanly possible to keep my appointment and make things work under impossible circumstances—unfortunately, I cannot control the weather or command a storm to pass just because I have a medical procedure scheduled.
When I called the office to responsibly cancel and explain the situation, the staff was remarkably rude, dismissive, and lacked basic empathy. To make matters worse, I was hung up on twice.
As a new patient, no one in that building knows me, and there is zero excuse for staff members to treat people in distress this way. Because of this unacceptable treatment, I am canceling my procedure permanently and going elsewhere. If the staff handling patient communication are this nasty and rude, I certainly do not trust them with my safety while putting me under anesthesia. That complete lack of care is deeply concerning, and Geisinger seriously needs to reevaluate its staff training and standards.
