But West Tennessee Detox was truly the best place I could have chosen.From day one, the staff was incredibly polite, supportive, and attentive. They constantly checked on me, asking how I was feeling and if I needed anything. When I was too sick to get up, they even brought drinks directly to my bed their level of care was remarkable.The center is well-stocked with food, and they have a full-time cook who prepares fresh meals daily. It was important to me and they made time for me. NO place is perfect, but they came really close so would I go back? Hopefully not needed but heck yes. These people have a good thing going! I came in to JACOA in May of 2023. I had been thru SOME SHIT. To say the least. And I needed some help and guidance on how not only to better myself, but HEAL myself.And I tell you what. JACOA did that. Am I a completely healed human? Nope. Do I credit them for everything I've accomplished this far? Yes. Because THEY gave me the tools I needed. Every one of them. From the head honcho, down to the monitors every night taking us for chill breaks. I love them, to the core. Beth was an amazing counselor, and the rest of the counselors were awesome too. Kudos to a really great staff.To elaborate? They taught me how to handle my anxiety and my stress. Without booze. Without weed. Just myself. Learning to live sober, was probably one of the best adventures I've lived so far. Because that, was wild. I read ten books in 28 days. I hadn't picked up a book since my mother died, nearly 9 years prior. And I was an avid reader.I begged for the library keys, and eventually, I didn't have to beg. I was given them, because I proved I was responsible and could handle a door.It takes one door at a time, sometimes.And hey, the food wasn't too bad either!

JACOA was so amazing I went there twice!! I had been a chronic relapse for 20 years and the last treatment center I ever had Tn go to was JACOA!! That says a lot about who they are as a substance abuse program. The staff met me where I was in my journey with compassion and kindness ,because most of them had their own personal story of recovery. They got me! They really understood me!! The center was literally undergoing a transformation with therapists leaving and new therapists were arriving around my discharge. The facility was also being upgraded and has an aesthetically modern, fresh appeal. Angel at the front desk was very kind and helpful. My therapist is no longer with TTC, so I won't rate therapists. My score of 4 out of 5 is because I never received primary therapy during 4 - 5 weeks there. I only had group sessions, which are helpful; but I was expecting individual therapy as well. Dr. Raj was most helpful and readily available for questions or concerns.

My first VA experience, I heard all the horror stories, but I could not have been more pleased with my experience. Dr. Anthony and staff were all courteous, accommodating, professional, and proficient. I felt very welcomed, and felt like they were happy to take care of me. My appointment was scheduled at 0800 and at 0803 they took me back. I had some bloodwork done and a round of shots, and walked out at 0827. i went here over a year ago, your supposed to stay for 7 weeks. i was there for 4 months (mind you i also needed alot of help & would run away from all my problems, so i would avoid going & that was extra days added to my treatmeant) i had a very sweet therapist that held me accountable for me running away from my issues and i was very deflective, i would minimize my problems and turn them into jokes. my theripst (Nicole) was probably one of my favorite people, she knew how to get me to respond correctly and i trusted her after a first couple sessions. day break is split into 4 things throughout the day, morning group, 2 hours of school, 1 hour of group therapy, lunch, then DBT. dbt is skills you learn to regulate your emotions, which i still use to this day and my favorite is still STOP. you see your therapist every week once or twice, but they always check up on you see if you need anything or just to talk. i would say daybreak definitely helped me to this day in my day to day life, i havent self harmed since i was there, i would definitely say i have my bad days still, but i have been doing alot better since day break. they made me feel very validated & cared about. idk how it is now, but i loved day break even when i hated being there. i am very thankful i got to go there when i needed it most cause trust me i definitely needed to be there. ms sussie is the absolute sweetest.
