Fulshear saved my life—twice. I first went to Fulshear in 2021 after moving to Texas. I gained the tools I needed to manage my mental health and really found healing there. One of the most impactful parts of my experience was equine therapy. I was a barn manager and caring for the horses gave me a deep sense of purpose. I also made connections that I still carry with me today. In 2024, I returned to Fulshear when I was struggling with substance use. I knew it was the place I needed to go, and once again, it changed my life. My therapist, Courtney Deadman, is the best therapist I have ever worked with. She’s inclusive, compassionate, and truly gifted at what she does. The family work we did together completely transformed my relationship with my parents—I’ve never communicated with them so well. Courtney held my light when I couldn’t, and now I can hold it proudly on my own. The rest of the clinical team—especially Micah and Injila—also made a huge impact. They led powerful groups and always made me feel seen and supported. The entire staff is truly exceptional. I also want to shout out the admissions team—Helaine is my hero. She supported me with so much care and compassion, and even checked in on me after I left treatment. She and her daughter Della are an amazing team and two of the most genuine, kindhearted people I’ve ever met. I’m beyond grateful for them. I came into the ranch broken lost and hurting. I had a lot of trauma from my childhood and my young adulthood that I never processed. As a result I was struggling with addiction, depression anxiety, you name it. Before the ranch I was use to abusive relationships, codependency, homelessness and isolation. I spent 3 months on the ranch and completely transformed my life. It was a lot of hard work. And I honestly wanted to change my life. I knew I was not living the life I was meant to live. I have nothing but good things to say about Fulshear. The staff is amazing and I believe in the program. Since Fulshear I am now 10 months sober. I live in a safe home and I'm able to have healthy relationships. I am back to working and even won employee of the month. I still continue with working with a therapist, which I will probably always continue to do in my life. It's a life long journey. But I was able to start and gain tools to start my healing and new life. I even found good friends at treatment that I still stay in touch with and we continue to love and support each other to this day. Fulshear will always hold a special place in my heart.

It has been almost 2 years and this place made me see that there are people who are going through tougher situations than me. I grasped through faith and now I feel much better. My experience was full of unexpected surprises with my other fellow patients, however we all got along like civilized adults. It was scary at first, however I have experience with the springs mental health hospital buildings. I first experienced the springs when I was a young teen with issues in the woodlands springs and when I turned 18 I got to see maturity among others adults in Westpark. I even got to see supportive participants taking their time to experience the process of healing without any major mental health issues and I'm thankful for that Westpark springs. Shout-out to Dr. Mustafa Zaidi, thank you for helping me through my recovery.

This place have gave me so much to hope for due to the staff Ms.jasmine, Mr>derrick, Ms.talisha, my counclor Ms.rachel and many more of the staff. The love each of these people have for the patients and care its unexplainable. coming from using hard drugs and not having a sense of care for myself and to walk thru these doors and the arms are open to love you till you can love yourself is amazing, me going back out and relapsing and scared to come back but when I thought about the staff and how much love the gave me I was ready to walk back in the doors and now I feel so much stronger because how much they have put so much love in me again. I'm forever grateful for this place and I always tell others who suffer from addiction that this is where I found myself again, and many found the same from their experience also. LOVE YALL SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

So thankful for my Santa Maria Family. My sister was her about 3 times in 2 years. Every time we tried to get her admit, we didn’t follow protocol and the staff always assisted us and she was always approved! The staff looked out for my sister and niece, it takes a village and thank god for each and every staff member here! From the counselors to the security. Instill updated them on my sister because I know they care for her. I never got to visit inside so no comment but i witnessed my sister get her own place, look healthier by the day and get employment. She a break and time to recover. Will always be grateful for their services.

I want to share our experience at this facility because there are many negative reviews out there, and that can make parents afraid to send their children. But we actually had a good experience. I’d encourage you not to hesitate to make that decision if you need to. Just remember that most people take the time to write something negative, and very few share positive experiences. Trust your own judgment and don’t let negative comments put your child’s physical and mental health at risk.

The staff at Woodland Springs is truly remarkable. When I have a patient in crisis, Dawn, the Sr. Business Development Representative is one call away, to assist with getting my patients the help they need at Woodland Springs. They are incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about the well-being of their patients. The treatments my patients receive there has been transformative; They feel supported every step of the way. The team works tirelessly to help my patients stabilize their mental health, offering a variety of therapeutic options and consistently checking in on their progress. My patients are on a brighter path and have the tools they need to manage their mental health effectively. I highly recommend Woodland Springs to anyone in need of mental health support. I can’t speak for all departments but so far I’ve had a good experience with the dental department and primary care. Dr Ali is outstanding and you can tell he actually cares about veterans. He made it a point to call me directly, outside of normal business hours to make sure I was okay after a series of events. Thankful that so far I have received good care.

VA 5-Star Rating I enrolled in Veterans’ Health Care after a somewhat stressful period in the civilian medical system. The VA Service has been nothing but outstanding. The level of professionalism, service, care and respect is incredible. Whether we’re talking about the Doctors, Associates, Nurses, Technicians or Administrative Staff, the dedication and commitment goes way beyond a “just a job” attitude, I am a cancer patient with a number of other health issues and I have nothing but gratitude and praise for everyone who has worked with me.
