The Raleigh VA Clinic has exceeded my expectations with every appointment. The receptionist greets you with a smile, which I know is easy only sometimes when interacting with the public. Dr. Sheryl Joyner is the epitome of professionalism, wisdom, and warmth. Equally, those who work with Dr. Joyner are a joy! Usually, I have "white coat" syndrome when I visit the doctor, and the anxiety elevates my blood pressure. However, nurses like Rashida King had me laughing and at ease in the short walk from the reception area to the doctor's office--no high blood pressure! Furthermore, Dr. Joyner and Nurse King were informative, relatable, and authentically caring. Going to the doctor is not at the top of anyone's list of things to do, but the staff at the Raleigh VA clinic are good medicine!

I cannot think this place enough for saving my life.Dr Ben is the most caring professional really wanting to help doctors I’ve ever seen. This place has gotten so much better in the last six years. It’s like night and day difference and I cannot express enough how I love the employees each and every nurse knows all about me they are so friendly and they’re there to help you too and get you through it. I got to give a shout out to Toya Mika Michelle Athena Felicia these are the nurses that you get your dose at the windows. I have to say every time I go in there they are always smiling and happy now how many places can you say is like that. I can go early in the morning or later on in the afternoon every single time for six years they have always been smiling and caring not once has anybody just filled up my bottles and not said nothing and mad. I definitely can’t leave this guy out Shaun Thompson I fell in love with my first counselor there, Miss Charon, and when I found out she was leaving I was truly sad. I really loved her a lot. I still do. I still tell her Merry Christmas and everything I got lucky though they gave me Shaun and my name is Shaun too so I guess that was a sign. He has truly got me through some tough times.I don’t understand why they don’t have five stars reviews, but it is impossible to satisfy everybody so I always look at it like that because they couldn’t be no kinder and helpful people than the people that work there. So if you read this, you know, I truly recommend going to Southlight they will help you.

This was my first visit to this clinic and I was very anxious because of some bad reviews and negative feedback from friends. The anxiety caused my blood pressure to shoot up through the roof. However, Ms. Durham, the nurse, calmed me down and took my anxiety away. Ms. Durham is a pleasant person who does a great job. In addition, Dr. Lee is a great doctor who cares about his patients. He explained everything to me in detail, not only the medical aspect, but also the administration resources that are available for me. I am a hospital corpsman and I have been working in the medical field for decades. I can say that my experience at the VA clinic is not different from any other private clinic, if not better. I only gave this review 4 stars because the receptionist was not smiling nor was she welcoming either. In fact, I felt that she got frustrated with me because she was unable to find my appointment easily. Overall, I can sincerely say that my visit was great! Thanks to the VA and all the staff for providing exceptional services to our veterans!

While driving to my appointment with my primary care provider I got a call from them stating that the provider was not working. Not the first time this happened. One nurse there is sadistic. A real monster. When giving vaccines he causes as much pain as possible. These people thrive on inefficiency. No one could work harder at doing worse. The office staff look at personal phones and rarely even look up. Rude. Routine visits from higher levels are desperately needed 😪

I got to Healing Transitions in April of 2025 after a lifelong battle with addiction. This is the third treatment center I have attended since 2007. I honestly would be dead if not for this place. It is the best decision I have ever made . I am blessed to be a part of the miracles that take place there. This place has given me the tools to finally be able to sober again after several almost deadly relapses. THANK GOD for this place. If you are looking for a place to pat you on the back and tell you that everything is going to be alright , this isn't that place. If you are struggling with addiction, I am here to tell you that this place works, but what you get out is what you put in. You do a little , HT will do a little; if you do a lot ,HT will do a lot. THE DISEASE OF ADDICTION WILL KILL YOU . IT HAS NO MERCY. HT taught me how to be responsible and hold myself accountable. They are not going to sugarcoat things. It will save your life if you are willing to go to any lengths. Healing Transitions is a valuable stepping stone to give everyone an honest chance at getting their life together. It's the only place around like itself. If you are an addict or alcoholic please give it a chance. You are worth it. I will be forever grateful for this wonderful program. 💛.

It is with deep gratitude that I send you this note of recognition. Finding a team of psychiatric professionals is truly a gift that I have found in this practice. I trust that I am receiving the care I need to heal from years of struggling with mental health concerns and an addictive personality. Both my psychiatrist and therapist have been able to work closely to help me start living life rather than just surviving it. With these supports in place, I am facing life’s challenges more assured of my stable response. Evaluating my physical condition at the metabolic level to determine appropriate medication/supplements, along with the therapeutic sessions, provides a complete recipe for emotional balance and physical wellbeing.

Welwynn was an absolutely life-changing place for my recovery. The group programming and clinical staff were exceptional. My therapist, Jesse, was instrumental in helping me understand and process my trauma in a way that truly promoted healing. The family sessions were equally impactful and played a major role in helping me rebuild trust with my loved ones. From intake through completion, every aspect of my care was handled with professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. The team went above and beyond to accommodate my executive functioning needs, including work-related travel, while still maintaining strong clinical support across individual, family, and group services. Welwynn quite literally saved my life, and I will always be grateful for the care I received.

Would highly recommend. My health team is primarily from Mindpath and for adequate reason. They are superior with getting me the info I need and centering my needs and care. Dr. Peter Panagakis is SUPERB do you hear me??! lol....He just gets it and he gets it right. Quite frankly, he is the reason why I trust other doctors in this network.

When I first came for my assessment I was not at all looking forward to these group hours. The assessment was a disaster due to the counselor being trained, thank God group was the opposite of that. My counselor and the group members made me feel comfortable sharing my story and opinions. First Step makes group fun yet professional and the perfect balance of discussion and instruction. I appreciate what I learned here and appreciate my group members being so open with their own stories. I am actually thankful life put me here because I feel I am leaving group a better person than when I started.
