Dr Asgar was extremely rude, saying I need weight loss surgery, said I was racist, guess he didn't know my ex is African American. Said my Social phobia is in my mind which is when he declared me a racist. But, I requested a new Dr and this new one is amazing. They definitely saved my life love all the counselors and staff. If you're truly ready to quit this is the place to go they will help you get through everything to succeed in your recovery. I'm now phasing down to get off the methadone as well if I can do it anyone can!!! Jessica Herold 2 months ago Now that I've been going to this particular location for going on 6 years... (Will be 6 years this November 2O25)... I've had time to process a whole lot. The counselors are very caring. They're really helpful and kind. They want to see you do well. The nurses are super friendly. So are the doctors. As far as wait times, well, TBH, that all depends on what time you get there during the morning. Like me for example. I go daily now and I try to go before 6am, if I get there before 6am, and I don't have a UA, I'm usually in and out in about 5-10 minutes. In my opinion, this is one of the better clinics in the Hagerstown area. They all want to see you do good and stay clean and sober for the rest of your life. Not saying you'll have to be here that long, but, just enough to get stable to where you feel safe and comfortable with yourself. I also wanted to say that I've had about 4 or 5 counselors since I've been going there and IDK why the counselors keep leaving or getting let go. The one I have now, she seems pretty nice. Also, FYI: As of June 1st 2024, their hours will be changing. The cutoff time for dosing will now be 12 Noon, instead of 1pm. I think it's because of the lack of counselors and nursing staff. It would normally be a 5/5, but things have REALLY changed. Physicals every 3 months, I don't understand why...and they have a HUGE turnover of nurses and counselors. I am a teacher and actually suffered the stroke while in front of my students. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. Fortunately, the school nurse and AP drove me to BMC. After a stint in the ER, I was moved to the ICU. My nurse, Joe, gave me hope and stayed nearby for most of the night. He even stayed beyond his 12-hour shift to make sure the transition went smoothly and moved me within the ICU so I was close to the main desk. I was in the right place, at the right time, and will forever be thankful to Joe, Chloe, Tyler and the many others who got me through. I elected to have serious cervical surgery performed at Berkeley County Medical Center because area renowned neurosurgeon Dr. John Caruso is a neurosurgeon on staff. I'm totally satisfied with the surgeon, surgery, nurses, staff and everything else. Berkeley County Medical Center provided better care for me than any of the big city hospitals ever did. Not only did I complete the 30 day program I met some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Starting with the counselors and case managers, my counselor Ms Mo she is tough but the most helpful and supportive person and I needed your toughness and more importantly she knew I needed that as well and for that I thank her and Mrs bam omg she is the sweetest person ever and helped me everytime and always was there when I needed to talk which was a lot and for that thank you so much. I understand that the main reasons behind them is basically immaturity and lack of responsibility. It's sad that some of us recovering addicts have to fall victim to bad eggs as well. We get a bad rep because some just want everything there way and don't care about rules and regulations. I could go on about the people I've had to deal with at methadone clinics over my 25 plus years on and off methadone. The one thing that I keep in my mind is that it's up to me to make the right decisions and take care of my treatment. The people that complain about the fact that you can go up and up with no one caring at the clinic is no one's fault but yours. I'm sure that at a certain dose you had to see doc to go higher. Let's be honest....you wanted to be high and you were probably doing other drugs or trying to get off of benzos and that's why you supposedly had seizures. It all goes back to the individual and his or her decision to do right. So do your research before you get off of other drugs and be honest with yourself and the staff. Maybe then you'll get the treatment you think you deserve. The entire counseling staff is amazing and really cares about each and every patient.
