I have been in and out of various drug treatment centers since my first overdose when I was twenty. I don’t know To get clean this time because I really wanted it, or I knew if I didn’t succeed this time, death had his hand above my neck. But God bless Amanda. She was my savior and did everything she could to help me, and I actually looked forward to seeing her after a while. Every session, she said something that was so profound to me, something I had never thought of before, or in that way, and that pertained to me. Amanda is a MIRACLE WORKER!!! I gave myself one month from by first meeting with her, and if things haven’t changed, I was going to kill myself (after a few suicide attempts, I had figured out a fool-proof plan.) Obviously, I never had to do it, and am the best place (spiritual and emotionally) I have been in a while! Also, for anyone serious, I recommend staying a little longer than the program states. Things used to be better here, but the last two years big mistakes are being made by workers and even when they tell you they will fix it and that they are sorry, they’re not. I have battled fentanyl addiction for over 3 years and if you are an addict of the same caliber then you know there’s no detoxing without help off that demon! I went to this place as a last resort to impatient with no expectations since nothing else has ever worked and let me tell you I haven’t felt as “normal” if that’s a word I can use to describe it as in years even before the addiction took hold..I have energy and I am clear headed.. you have to give this a try you won’t be sorry! From the front desk, to the counselor, the nurse, the doctor I mean even the clinic director and other counselors these people care! They don’t treat you like someone who doesn’t deserve help or like it’s your own fault your where you are. Idk I guess I just am so surprised yet grateful to be free from the monkey on my back I want everyone to know they can be free to..I hope this finds and helps someone else get on the same track to living again! I can safely say this has been one of the best facilities I have ever been too for both civilian, veterans, and active duty service members! There are multiple programs suited for your individual needs, great housing spaces, and pretty good food. My therapist Joel was an absolute sweetheart who listened to every trauma related issue, and helped me navigate the subconscious emotions and memories that resulted in my triggers before developing the best treatment plan that worked for me! My case manager Jason is a retired Air Force veteran who was very knowledgeable with my insurance plan and communicated regularly with my installation back home. The nursing staff is often busy and always working on something, but they always take the minute to listen to you and make you feel welcomed and safe at home away from home. There are a plethora of resources including AA, recreation, experiential outings, yoga, meditation, church services, music therapy, and art therapy, that will guide you towards your path to sobriety. Like others have said in the previous reviews, rehabilitation is the experience you make it and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for extra help. No judgement here! They have a very high turnover rate as far as counselors and pharmacy techs go. Always new employees rotating in and out. The director is fair and friendly, I like her a lot. There are a few counselors that have been there for a long time though, they are awesome and for the most part always willing to help resolve an issue. I guess the biggest downside to this place is all the drama that goes down in the parking lot before the place even opens, lawd there's some crazy folks that go here! The receptionist is very nice and doesn’t ever seem like she’s upset to be at work, really welcoming. The nurses are great too but the nurse Tony is the MVP in my opinion 😂 She’s always on top of things when I guest dose there and always atleast seems like she’s happy to be there and to help. In my experience it’s almost a thankless job and most people expect so much and can be super rude at clinics, but this clinic actually cares and does their best and you can tell. My current dr. April Burgess has always gone out of her way to make sure I get my medication, even fitting me into her schedule during mental health emergencies during the several times my Mom was in the hospital. I'm incredibly grateful for her, and even the front desk staff for being patient with me. I'm also happy to be able to have my appointments via telehealth as I'm not always able to visit in person. Family Weekend provided training and information and answers to so many things I was curious and uninformed about. It also provided the opportunity to see the facility and room where my loved one slept. GBR holds a weekly zoom call open to families in which one of the counselors teaches and serves as a point of contact. Family members are encouraged to continue participation in this call even after graduation of their loved one. The generosity of spirit, genuine caring, and expertise of the doctor, nurses, counselors, and staff members make GBR an outstanding choice for recovery. The doctor is wonderful — caring, attentive, and easy to talk to. Breeze Anne and Joy both run great groups; you can tell they genuinely care about the patients and our recovery journeys. Breeze Anne especially goes above and beyond to make people feel supported and understood. The wait times can get a little long, but it’s clear the staff are doing their best, especially with how many patients they serve. I also think it’s great that they’ve partnered with 904 Health — Unity, who works with them, is awesome and has been such a great addition to the clinic. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the new staff member who handles the drug testing. She isn’t very professional in how she speaks to patients — often talking down to them and creating unnecessary tension. There’s also a confusing sign on her door that says “knock and then wait,” yet she’s yelled at patients for knocking. It might help to replace that with something clearer, like “please wait to be called.” Overall, New Seasons has done a great job hiring friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive staff — this one person just doesn’t reflect the otherwise amazing team. I know some of the reviews on here are really old and maybe they had issues in the past. My first appointment for labs was completed before my appointment time. My first PCP appointment was great. My nurse, Leanna, was amazing! Dr. Shams spent a lot of time getting to know me, and I could tell that he genuinely cared about my health and wanted to help improve it. Way better attitudes here than the old location of the Pensacola clinic. My only complaint is it takes forever to get an appointment to see primary care provider. You can't get a referral for anything without seeing her first. I had an appointment for Oct that was changed 4 times to later dates. I gave up and cancelled it. I also had a specialist one here in the clinic cancelled the day before when waited 3 months to see them. What was a Sept appt is now Dec. It's not like we are able to change other things we already scheduled in our lives to accomodate constant changes to V.A. changes. I do like my mh community care psychologist for ptsd. V.A. wanted me to wait 6 months and drive to Panama City clinic to see their psychologist. That was too long a wait and too far to drive. I did get a mh referral to a V.A. sleep psychologist but again a long wait. I have severe insomnia. Got referred in Aug for a Dec telehealth. Telehealth should be a lot sooner with technology easily available. Quality of care has been good but the wait times suck. V.A. system needs to change and get more staffing. Things this place needs... Firstly some roommates are disgusting and cant clean up after themselves and it unhygienic would be nice to have someone clean it out. Secondly more availability to people who CAN change things for example, medicine,room,portions of food. all of that and get your stuff brought in approved... because doctors are only available at certain times and you cant just sit down and talk when you want Wich kinda sucks but I do understand they have stuff to do. Thirdly from a patient perspective it seems sorta-kinda understaffed and like their underpaid sometimes by the way some staff just don't care.. you ask them for something and their dismissive or tell you to shut up. All and all if some issues are fixed and certain things are improved upon this could help more people in the future, I hope this review is taken into consideration and maybe things could be changed? like reviewing staff behavior towards the youth side.
