The five stars I'm giving is only for the outpatient part. Rachel is a great counselor and knows her stuff. I learn a lot from her. Jessica Hartz is the best employee at Adds. She bent over backwards to get me into inpatient. She is truly a blessing. She's a really good counselor also. The staff down at inpatient needs reevaluated and they need to give them UAS. If they want their clients to stay clean down there they shouldn't let their employees do meth. If I wasn't so serious about my recovery and If it was early in my recovery I'm sure I would have walked out and got high but by the grace of God I'm 106 days sober today.

You won't find a better place for your mental health needs. Dr. Sanchez is the absolute best there is! I can't thank him enough for all he has done, and continues to do for me. He takes his time, really listens, and cares deeply about his patients. I have worked with a couple of the therapists. One, Rob, is no longer there, having gotten more education and moved away. He was amazing! Mike is awesome, and I am so thankful to have him on my team. He really cares, listens, and is just great! The nurses are also caring, compassionate, and really take an interest in you personally. The office staff is also the best. They work hard to see that your needs are met. The care that I received was spectacular. Yet, being in the ER overnight before a bed was available was interesting. To hear the staff at the counters and the Chief of Police comments about DEI was mind blowing, upsetting, and sad. The comments and how they felt were mean, ignorant, and callus about it made my time in the ER extremely uncomfortable while I was being treated by the kind nurses. I asked questions. The response I received was nothing less than racist. I was glad that I was treated by nurses that were professional, kind, and concerned about the care of a Veteran, but to the others, a disgrace. To compare DEI to Affirmative action was truly mind blowing and ignorance. That's just part of the conversations I've heard. SMH

I have been to the VA in St Louis New Orleans all over the country of many different VA's. Iowa City and Fayetteville Arkansas are probably two of the best. I only had one bad experience at Iowa City when an asshole doctor didn't want to do his job in the ER. But everyone else there is awesome. I've received more help from Iowa City than any other hospital or VA care facility in the country. I don't live in the area anymore but I still travel over 100 mi to use Iowa city's VA. To me it's the best.

Regarding the walk-in intake, So far I have done intake and the process for that was long. They started at 10am but I had already been there since 8:12am waiting. I was the last person they accepted that day totalling 4 of us. I had to wait until each person in front of me was done, about 45 mins to 1 hour each. I was there a total of about 5 hours beginning to end. At the end you schedule a follow-up and it was 3 weeks out. Once you check in theoretically you could leave but about 2 hours in the called me in to verify my financial info. So I just stayed.

I really like this clinic. I haven't had any of the issues I've seen posted. The staff are all very kind and very professional. I'm not sure if this is a factor in the very different experiences people are having, but they were purchased by a different company at some point before I started in December 2023. So maybe they have different people and policies now? I just know that I've had a great experience, and after coming from CADS in Rock Island, I needed that. Our dose is up to us because no matter the length of time it's been, some people aren't ready to be done with Methadone. For some people, it's a decision between Methadone or heroin. And that's a clear choice for me. But, ya, great experience.

I have been a client at cbh consistently going on around 3 years, prior to that another 4 years inconsistently. You cannot ask for a better group of people. From the moment you walk through the door you are welcomed with care and kindness. As long as you are showing respect and meeting the requirements it's set up for success. I had been through the door's in the past and I was not ready then. But I was treated the same each time I returned and for that I am grateful that they even allowed me the opportunity to work with them. If this clinic was not here there would be ALOT of people without a family. This place truly does restore hope. The receptionist, counselors, nurse's and doctor are all great people! They help make a great difference in the people who go there.

Although I received my blessing from ONE EIGHTY years ago, im writing this review now because I am in disbelief that several people claim to have had a terrible experience. ONE EIGHTY is such a blessing to the community and my son and I are forever grateful that we were chosen for the first grant through the program back in 2017. I was in Bridgeway for substance abuse. I can sence a compassion from every counselor I talked to... It's hard to judge why necessarily there are such bad reviews of them. I am guessing people either wernt told what they want to here or found out that it's more work then they were up for, it's a shame. From my expierence they were very helpful and direct.

I have been a patient for years. The low stars can be somewhat attributed to the fact that many of the people they help are mentally ill. The care we have here is the envy of the entire State of Iowa. While not everyone who has ever worked there has been as awesome as the people who do now. The people who work there now, really are awesome. They are doing their best with low pay and a high case load so be kind.

I have gone to Vera French for over a decade. There were problems early on with insurance, and with their business office not being able to get payment from them. It turned out to be due to a problem on their end, between them and the insurance company. It took months to get everything cleared up, and the problem came back sporadically over the years. It has evidently been corrected, because there hasn t been a problem for several years, even though I had to change caregivers a few times. I really like Dr. Emerle. He is caring and seems to be genuinely interested in me and my care. The only problem I have is with the check-in procedure. It is confusing and oftentimes I have to wait several minutes to be seen by the person who checks you in. Occasionally they are unpleasant, not rude exactly, just bothered to have to help me. It depends somewhat on the person at the desk, however. Some are very nice and guardedly friendly .
