SHOUT OUT ONCE AGAIN FOR THE LEAVENWORTH VA.I have been experiencing severe lower left back pain since Wednesday. When it hits, a sunami! Can't move fast, sit easy, walk , without severe pain. Pain meds, TENS Unit, heating pad. Helps some.Decided to go the the VA Emergency Room for the first time ever. In and out in 60 minutes. From reception to pharmacy, they were outstanding. Definite 10 on a 1 low to 10 high scale! My ER Nurse was Debbie. Very personable and experienced. The Doctor was Dr. Glen Georger. Diagnosed quickly and prescribed a shot of my favorite- MORPHINE BABY! And a steroid shot. Gave me a RX for prednisone too.The pharmacist and tech were awesome.I am thankful we have a VA hospital as Dwight D. Eisenhower Eastern Kansas VA that is clean, orderly and great service. THANK YOU VHA.

Roy was horrific and disrespectful. I didn t go back to stonestreet for years. Now that I am seeing Alicia Sader she has already helped me tremendously. I started going to see her when I was an adolescent. As I got older, more issues began to surface, and I returned to her each time because her no nonsense, straightforward demeanor helped guide me towards workable solutions, and provided the tools I would need to recognize unhealthy relationships and situations, empowering me to be the best person I can be, to appreciate the blessings in my life, to value my children, my family, and myself. I am so thankful to Geri for helping me recognize my own value and my own voice.

I cannot speak highly enough about Sunflower Recovery Center and their 90-day treatment program. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt a genuine sense of care and professionalism. The program is well-structured, with a perfect balance of therapy and support to live a healthy life in recovery. What truly sets Sunflower apart, though, is the incredible leadership of Katie, the Executive Director. Katie is more than just a director she s a passionate advocate for each individual s recovery journey. She takes the time to personally connect with clients, offering encouragement, guidance, and even a listening ear when needed. Her dedication to the well-being of everyone in the program is clear, and it s evident that she cares deeply about our success, both during the program and after. I never felt like I was just another client; Katie and her team ensured I had the tools and resources I needed to build a strong foundation for my sobriety. I never felt judged, but instead felt supported and encouraged every step of the way. The holistic approach to healing addressing mental, emotional, and physical well-being made all the difference in my recovery. Under Katie s guidance, the program is not just a one-size-fits-all approach; it s personalized and thoughtfully crafted to address the specific needs of each individual.I am forever grateful for the entire Sunflower team for helping me take the first steps toward lasting sobriety. Sunflower is a place where you re not just another client you re a person who matters.

This place saved my life. The counselors and staff are amazing especially Dr. Phill and Erika they are 2 of the biggest impacts on my life that I have while I was there. I went into treatment planning to use as soon as I got out and Erika was my counselor and she was able to help me open my eyes and see all the underlying problems and trauma that was causing me to use and feel the way I was, and Dr. Phill teaches in such an amazing manner that everything is absorbed and I stayed completely engaged the entire time. Everyone there is so caring and supportive of you and the residents end up becoming family or atleast the ones I was in there with did for me, we are all still in contact and help eachother stay accountable and help eachother through anything we are going through. So if ur contemplating treatment this place is the best place in Kansas to go oh and the foods good too I never ate a meal I didn't enjoy the entire time I was there.

What can I say about Valley Hope? I was a participant here on March 17, 2021, and I currently work here as a Kansas Centered Peer Mentor (KCPM) and a Person-Centered Case Manager (PCCM). When I came to Valley Hope, I was coming here to get my family off of my back and then go back out there and drink after I had an Intervention. Then, something happened while there; I found hope and serenity and learned to love myself again. After long sessions with my counselor, Ruth Jurgen-Owens, she basically told me to quit smoking and actually give this program a shot and see where you are at the end of the program; if nothing has changed, then I am already going to go out there and use it anyway. Well, after doing everything I asked and giving it 110%, everything started to change immediately, and I noticed a difference in my appearance and attitude. After I completed my treatment at Valley Hope, I did the IOP and the OP on Zoom, which gave me guidance for the real-world situations that I was getting myself into. This also held me accountable for my actions for a bit longer. Now, I am going to school to become a counselor for addiction and mental health to help the next suffering addict or alcoholic.Since I have been working here, I cannot tell you the love that everyone here has, from the Alumni Coordinator Kathryn Reichenberger to the clinical staff, nursing staff, business office, and kitchen staff. I must thank Kathryn Reichenberger for everything you do for our participants after they leave inpatient treatment; you are a genuine and sweet person. Working with you and becoming close friends with you has been an honor. Never change who you are or what you do; you touch everyone you come in contact with. My next person would be my partner in crime, Kassidy, as a case manager; you have helped me out so much by showing me around and teaching me how to do this job. Thank You, Denise, for always having my back and being someone I could vent to when dealing with situations, good or bad. Last but not least, I have to say, Ruth, you will always have a special place heart; you help made me into the person I was always supposed to be and then took a chance on me to come to work for you, and I have to say it been one crazy of a ride but I have loved every second of it and will never forget you and all you have done for me and my family; so thank you to all of Valley Hope and the staff that works there.I wholeheartedly recommend Valley Hope to anyone seeking a new lease on life. The genuine care and support from staff and participants make this place unique. It is a haven where one can find support, compassion, and unwavering encouragement on the journey to recovery and self-discovery.

Valley Hope of Atchison provides a semi private residential recovery environment in a relaxed and rural setting near the Missouri River. They’re located in Atchison, Kansas, just 35 miles north of the Kansas City airport off I-435 and minutes from the Amelia Earhart Museum. They serve adults over 18 including veterans and active service members.
Atchison Valley Hope saved my life. I had tried living a life in recovery before, but it never worked out for me. When I hit a point to no return I reached out for help to Valley Hope in Atchison. From the moment I walked through the door, I was welcomed with such warm, loving compassion. The feeling of comfort and safety put me at ease and I knew from the very start something was going to be different. The staff is amazing. From the director all the way to the kitchen staff. I have never been treated with more love and respect in my life. I spent nearly 2 whole months as a patient and the tools I learned at Valley Hope with my willingness of participation, helped mold me to the human being I am today. That place is magical. It wasn't easy, but with the patience of my counselor, my Chaplin, my case manager, and all of the staff, I have been living the life of my dreams. Clean and sober. So from the deepest part of my heart of hearts Thank you Atchison Valley Hope I love you all

I m struggling to understand why this facility would get anything less than 5 stars. Valley Hope has truly changed my life. I called on a Wednesday morning and was in a bed by Friday. This is more than a facility or institution. It s a home full of love and care. The staff are much more than staff even down to the cooks. They truly do care. They go above and beyond to listen, recognize and love. I HIGHLY recommend V.H. To anyone who s truly wanting to live a life of sobriety. The structure, dynamics, medical care, post care recommendations and even down to the food is amazing. If I could give more stars, I would. Thank you so much Valley Hope for changing my life around. I ll never forget what y all have done for me.

I was recently seen in the ER at the VA. I had bad edema in my legs with fluid buildup in my abdomen. I was seen immediately and the ER team ran possibly every test and procedure they could to get to the root cause. They treated me so well there. I was treated poorly about 10 years ago there, but they have definitely changed my views of them. After my visit they had already set up two Dr appointments for me and sent me home with medication. No place is perfect. I have been going here for 12 months now and I have been clean for 11months. It tooke a month to get off everything, but I have. It's been wonderful, my family is shocked and so happy how well I am doing. My kids are starting to trust me again. I have had some issues with the drug screens coming back positive 3 times when I have been clean and was not using. One of them got dropped because the confirmation came back negative, so that was great but the other 2 was contaminated because I haven't used one thing since 6/19/23.This was hard to deal with because How can u fix a drug screen that comes back dirty when u are clean..so I did lose my take homes for a month which sucked. But you know what It's a hell of a lot better then where I was before. I love who I am now I am working really hard on my recovery and just gotta keep doing the right thing even when things don't go ur way. If you want a change it is so able and this place has really saved my life and my relationship with my kids, and family.

As someone who was terribly frightened of starting on the path to mental health recovery, Comcare made it very easy. The workers were patient with my inexperience and my intake was a breeze. My greatest fear was that I'd be treated as an attention-seeker, or foolish for having done my research. Instead, my intake practitioner was thoughtful and receptive, and agreed with my basic coverage of things; though I am not a skeptic of therapy, it was not what I needed. Referral to a medication consultation was quick and painless, as was that appointment.Above all, everything has been immensely affordable -- and more importantly, Comcare doesn't pressure you to cough up. I've never once been made to pay in office, or even asked to. I get my bill in the mail, and pay when I am able.

Commenting as a family member to a patient of PFH, currently!*I had a friend who also went to pfh to get clean about 7 years ago and the change in this place (from 7 years ago to now) is nothing but amazing! The staff are ALL caring, loving, people who want nothing but the best for everyone who steps foot inside this building!*I would suggest before arriving for your stay that you call and verify what items you are able to bring and what items aren't accepted.Ask about possible medications and scripts your doctor may have you on - they do give some medications and you are even allowed to have some items such as hygiene and OTC meds such as Tylenol.I'd recommend having some cash or change as well, they have a vending machine you'll get access to.You might also get to go on a day trip to Walmart, so if you'd like to spend some money at Walmart - you'll need to bring some! The last thing I can truly suggest is.... arrive with an open mind and an open heart to allow these loving people to help you become a better/healthier version of yourself.Your loved one deserves their love/help to get clean and live a life they are proud of! Get your loved ones back - get with PFH to secure their bed! It'll be worth it

PFH is a great place to go to if you want to get sober and start your life on the right path. They have a structured and routine environment. The staff are attentive to client needs while providing information to which I can use to maintain sobriety. I ve never experienced a setting in which clients bond and trusted each other. Thank you so much PFH!
