Ive been in a few treatment facilities over the years but this one has a different feel to it. From day one I felt like I was in the right place because the staff made it a point to welcome me and made me feel comfortable. I found all the groups very beneficial and the focus of mental illness and addiction made a huge impact on me. After completion of treatment I know I'm on the right path. I was overwhelmed that first day right after detox with all that happened with initially getting clean, but the staff is obviously well practiced at putting their new clients at ease. Loved the groups and their curriculum, it's clear they continually evaluate what works well and they listen to feedback. I felt like I was extremely well matched to my therapist and I made a lot of headway into having insight to my addiction and issues surrounding my relapses. My therapist at Laurel Hill is by far the best therapist I have ever had — I learned so much from her and am still in awe of how she challenged me and ED narratives. The clinical director treats clients like family and invests her time and energy into each and every one of us — she spent her Christmas holiday with clients baking cookies, enjoying holiday kareoke, and other festivities that she planned for us… it was a special holiday, filled with so much love and support. The nursing staff are SO cool and kind. The RCs are absolutely the best.. I don’t know how they do such a specialized and demanding job and do it SO well, all while getting to become so close with the clients. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone struggling with an eating disorder. I had lost hope when I entered treatment, and now I look forward to the day when I can say I am fully recovered, because thanks to the LH team, I know that day will come. We find the staff to be supportive and attentive and are grateful to have them as providers. Jessi Naff 5 years ago The nurses are Top Knots and unusually helpful and resourceful. The counselors that exist are all fair and kind, but constant short staffing and management issues cause a great place to only get a good rating. This is a for-profit clinic, so the higher up the management chain one goes, the further away an addict in recovery is from recovery. Unfortunately this company owns most of the clinics in the area, so one does not have a choice. This is also not unusual. There is no handicapped accessible entrance. You can go in the back way, around the back of the hospital, but you still have to walk a very good distance to the front door, and once inside it's very small so a person with mobility issues is going to struggle. I don't suggest anyone with mobility issues goes to this Clinic. He Corrections Officers in the back of the hospital, they have an entrance for the prisoners there. There is constant clashing with the handicapped clients and the Corrections Officers because there's no real protocol for handicapped patients. But overall this is a good place. Small, and they don't put up with any of the usual nonsense that goes on.( There are very few drug deals if at all that will go on here!). The security guard is top-notch as well and is very fair but firm. If you are not looking for Recovery, I suggest you go somewhere else because you won't last long here. I've had some personal issues with the take-home protocol as well as the short staffing resulting in treatment plans not being effectively instituted, but again this is management and has nothing to do with the day to day staff. There is always a clincian available to speak with in a break out room. They check in with you individually at least 1 a week if needed. Interns were excellent as well. I highly recommend for someone needing to rebuild their toolbox if going through a difficult time. I could not speak more highly of the staff at this site. They are professional, empathetic, friendly, and always willing to help and teach. The director Arianna Guiseppone and her entire clinical staff intentionally and collaboratively create a wonderful work environment for staff, interns, and clients alike.
