Prior to this I used the Baton Rouge VA Clinic for at least 25 + years. I'm so glad I found this place. I was addicted to opioid pain medicine really bad. I wouldn't even get out of the bed if I didn't have at least 2 pills to take. I spent a ton of money, buying pills from anybody and everybody. Then my grandson was born. It is true that babies will change your life. And he did. The 1st time we looked at each other, he was probably 3 days old, but we looked into each other's eyes, and I knew at that moment that I would be raising my 2nd grandson. The only thing I could do was get clean. I absolutely had to get clean. I started making phone calls, and talking to people and all that led me to the methadone clinic on Pride Ave. out by the airport. My 1st day was July 1st, 2013. My grandson was born March 27th 2013. It took me 4 months to find the best drug addiction center that I knew would work for me.
I got custody of my grandson when he was a little over 2 years old. But he had been with me almost all the time since he was born. Cash just made 11 years old and he still lives with me and I'm still attending the methadone clinic, it's called BAART Program.
I'm kinda scared to stop taking the methadone because I suffer from depression, anxiety, Rheumatoid Arthritis and a few other things, and I know myself well enough to know that if I stop taking the methadone, I will find something else to take. So, I'm gonna stick with the program because it has worked so well for me.
I honestly believe that anybody with an addiction to opioids should try this clinic. The doctor and the counselor's there are fantastic. No body judges you, and if you don't feel like talking a lot, you don't have to. But when you get ready to talk about your problems and what led you to get addicted to opioids, they will listen without interrupting and they will listen to you, and they will help you. I know this, because I've been there for real. You will love yourself and everyone else when you get clean, I promise you that. You will feel so much better about yourself and your life. You will have a desire to do something good with your life.
It's just great to be free from addiction.

I came to this place the 19th of December 2024. It was a nice facility! They treated me with respect and compassion. The techs/nurses played bingo with us, we did arts and crafts, they took us outside for fresh air, they were all for the most part very professional and caring! A few people stood out to me. At this place, no one cares if you get your meds on time or not. The only good thing here is about three nurses, who do all they can, but their work is not enough, they do as much as they can. This center is a joke, the worst clinic ever!

If it weren't for St. Christopher's we would still be wading through the confusion of what to do about our alcoholic loved one. The pain was close to unbearable. We were all lost and so very tired. St. Chris was recommended to us and the counselors and techs there made the difference. After three months, our loved one graduated and transitioned with the help of staff. The combination of medical supervision, group therapy, and 24/7 supervision was the key to finding the path we are on now. Our alcoholic is over six months sober and proud. It's a day at a time, but we are thankful for this second chance, given to us by the caring folks at St. Christopher's.

There isn't enough space to say how I feel about Lake Wellness. I woke up on 9/10/23 and decided to reach out to them via online. I filled out a form and was called within minutes offering help. I honestly could not do it by myself. The staff there is exceptional. The counselors there were exceptional. And the doctor very caring. NOLA Detox saved my life. Treatment there has given me hope and the tools I need to beat my addiction. Their team of mental and behavioral health professionals helped me every step of the way.Throughout my 28 day stay the clinical team put together a comprehensive care plan. That included medication assisted treatment, group, individual, & family therapy, one on one psychiatrist visits, and recovery groups. Additionally I took part in the professional training group sessions and nutrition & wellness discussions that were offered.I enjoyed the Queen sized bed and the large plasma screen Roku TV in my Patient Suite. My two roommates and I enjoyed binge watching on Netflix.Copeland's provided the many delicious options at mealtimes. My clothes were even sent out to a professional laundry service.A nature trail and lush grounds were well maintained and ideal for jogging, walking, and meditation.My stay wouldn't have been what it was if it wasn't for the kind and empathetic staff that went above and beyond. A team of caring nurses and techs encouraged me on my recovery journey. I would not have been able to do have done this without them.My recovery journey is ongoing. NOLA Detox is still by my side. I left Narconon in September of 2022.I am enrolled in school now with my own apartment, car, and healthy relationships with all my friends and family.Considering I came from about as rock bottom as it could get (broken hearted, socially despised, and facing felony charges), I have completely altered the outcome of my life with the help of these dedicated and knowledgeable staff members.This is a 10 star place! The immense knowledge I have gained from my student program, as well as nearly a year of staff work, has laid the foundation on which I have been able to start building a life I never thought I could achieve.From being a hair away from a bid in prison, to a high functioning and appreciative member of society, I share the wealth of knowledge I learned here with everyone who is facing conflict in their own lives.The program is not easy, and will force you to take ultimate responsibility for all aspects of your life. The unrivaled support and relationships you acquire here will last you a lifetime, but you have to first be honest with yourself.I don t mean to put down anyone s subjective experience, however, the one star views prove to me presence of an intense bias.Proof? Why are there no 2 or 3 star votes? How is something either 5 stars or 1?Contemplate that for a second like I have and you will come to the reasonable conclusion that those 1 star-raters have a strong emotional bias towards situations that they feel they were victim to.This place only means to help!

Amazing program, great results! The best decision I have ever made was doing this program, it saved my life and I have had 3 other family members and my girlfriend that have all completed this program and are clean to this day. I am happy and sober 8 years later!!

I was thinking about this place today for some reason. I spent 29 days here in 2015 or late 2014. Anyway I remember it was a very good program. The scenery is beautiful and many long walks around the facility. I was glad we could smoke as well. I remember going to the local Catholic Church nearby. Oh yes and the food was delicious. Females were there as well, but no peeking lol. Overall a good place if you wanna sober up and stay off the destructive path.

I was really nervous going into treatment but the staff was great, there was always someone available if I needed anything from headache medicine, or just someone to talk to. I would definitely recommend them to anyone thats considering getting sober.

After receiving 30 days of inpatient treatment for alcohol, I continued my care at Lake Wellness. Bruce Steinberg has been an incredible asset in my recovery; I cannot say enough good things about him. He created a safe and non-judgmental space for his clients, and each day of the week had a specific agenda, which kept the meetings fresh and interesting. I thoroughly appreciated the activities and concepts that we explored. His group was open-minded and empathetic and was a place for growth, healing, and connection for me. I made friends I will have for life in this program and will forever be grateful for the care and support I received at Lake Wellness.

This place was a life changer. Kevin James speaks the truth and is straight up with you. He explains things in a way even a toddler can learn. If you can't handle him being blunt with you, then you're probably not ready for sobriety. He makes you look at your own bullshit that you've been hiding behind for so long. The counselors and staff are AMAZING and KIND here and the rules aren't really much to follow if you act like an adult. The food is pretty yuck though so bring snacks and maybe a pillow.

This place taught me how addiction works. As I read the reviews I see a lot of people saying the staff was rude. They told us what we needed to hear and not what we wanted to hear and I appreciated that. If I want to be waited on/ pampered I would go to a resort. I went there after trying to get sober on my own for years and it was the single best decision I ever made. That was 4.75 years ago. If you put in the work it can/will work they teach you and lay out a road map that works. I m living proof. Then the rest is up to you to string together good decisions and use the tolls you learned. If you stop putting in the work nothing will work.

We all hate having to be in a hospital, but I have to tell you that my experience at Lakeview Hospital in Covington went very well.After having a procedure done on March 25th 2025, I had to stay in the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights, and I know that sounds like a vacation stay, well it really was. Again, we all don't want to be in a hospital, but if you have to stay, stay at Lakeview. The entire time I was there the staff was very nice, and very attentive to my needs, and went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I did lots of walking in the halls over those 4 days, and everyone of the staff I encountered was very nice, and pleasant to talk too. I have been telling everyone I know about my experience at Lakeview Hospital. So thank you to all the staff on the 5th floor where I stayed. Now, let's talk about the meals. Hospital food doesn't sound good ever, but every meal I had was excellent. I admit that I'm kind of judgmental when it comes to food, but every mean I had was delicious. Overall my stay was made comfortable by the courteous staff, and my meals made the stay much easier. I would have to rate the overall experience as a 10 out of 10, but for Google I can only do a 5 out of 5. Ha! Ha! Thanks again to the staff at Lakeview Hospital for making my stay a great experience.

I took my boyfriend to this ER in a very unusual situation. The staff where VERY professional and supportive in our medical issue to both parties and ran tests to check ALL the boxes of care.I have been to a hospital here myself for a heart issue and got almost no care what so ever so I normally don't write reviews but I would like to personally thank the 3 am shift last night for just going above and beyond even with a difficult patient. Hopefully I personally won't have to see them in the near future but I was super impressed with their caring attitudes and professional acts to make sure he was actually safe.Thank you everyone from front desk,to nurses,to mri,dr and even admission/ insurance info collection. You guys have something to be proud of not too many hospitals really care these days and I just wanted to say I truly appreciate you!
