We didn’t know what to do when we realized our teen needed help. It’s not an easy decision to send your child to a residential treatment program and there aren’t many to choose from. I will say that sending our teen to Stonewater has been one of the best parenting decisions we have ever made. From our first phone call to admissions and to the last day of treatment, I have nothing but good things to say about the people who work there. They really care about helping these kids get their lives back on track. Trust the process and know that your child is in a great place with awesome people. Although my son was unable to attend Stonewater because our health insurance company refused to work with us, Bridget and Kyle went above and beyond to connect us with a facility that was “in-network”, closer to home, and will provide a comparable level of care. While I’m disappointed that my son could not attend Stonewater, I will be forever grateful for the time, energy, and care they afforded us in making sure that our son received the quality care he so desperately needs! Stonewater truly cares about the boys and families who participate in their recovery program. Dropping our son off, sight unseen, was the hardest thing to do in a dark time, but Stonewater staff supported us every step of the way and put our fears at ease. Communication was prompt, caring and informative, as we navigated residential treatment center operations. What appealed to me when making a decision was first- that it was family owned and operated by those in recovery or affected by addiction and or mental health needs, second- there are a max of 14 adolescent males at a time, third- it has a program ending duration of 90 days, fourth- it’s on 65 beautiful acres, fifth- staff were interested in my son’s specific needs and if he was a good fit, sixth- Stonewater’s emphasis on family participation is key throughout the entire process of healing and seventh- guidance for families to research and develop after care plans from the start to have a plan in place upon release. My son feels it’s one of the best facilities in the country, he’s not felt this healthy in years and says it changed his life. To hear his testimony speaks volumes to the quality of care Stonewater provides.

The Extra Mile is an extremely special place. The team is incredible and is supportive and works cohesively to provide care to every individual. They foster a sense of community and truly impact the lives of individuals on a personal level. This place helped me when I had a traumatic experience dealing with a sudden company shut down and other PTSD from family / relationship issues. Ivy Trails and the staff there were very compassionate and skilled at helping me navigate my feelings and medication adjustments. I am forever grateful and blessed to have chosen to go there for help. I highly recommend anyone who struggles with any type of mental illness disorders or other traumatic events to consider coming to Parkwood for help. Life is unpredictable and too much for people to handle all alone at times. Too often people think mental illness is not real or that the person suffering from mental crisis is too hard to understand or be around. I know from experience. I was last here in 2021. I just got out again and this time they have an all women's unit in a cottage like set up. I honestly had the best most fulfilling stabilization process at Ivy Trails. The smoking patio was very nice. The living area and dining area were very nice. It felt more like a camping cottage with help. I was phenomenal being able to talk to other women and get that female support in a safe controlled environment. Also the techs and miss Marquita (the therapist on Ivy) are phenomenal. If you follow the rules and have patience and actually want to get a lot out of your stay you'll do well here. Even when I was briefly on north (men are a trigger and I was scared) the techs were great. But if you're a woman and need a safe place Ivy is where you need to be. Also huge shout outs to Rachael, Tanya, Natalie and Tamika. This experience was invaluable and now I know where to go if I ever reach crisis again.

Downfalls would be that at times your treated like a child and there were a couple of staff that were downright rude. But all in all I highly recommend Ivy Trails!

I've been going here for over 9 yrs now. They have had issues with staffing but have always made sure I see the therapist or my doctor for my meds. The nurse has always contacted me back if I have any issues. My child is now seeing them on the children's side. Never had an issue with co-pays or staff. I do have to remind them of my yearly update due to computer program not up to date.

I was there this year ngl it was pretty wild there. Erik, and Selena were the best tech of all treated the patients with more care than most. The worse tech was named OJ african dude always threw away food that was left over than letting a patient eat or drink. Waste no sugar was allowed along with forced to drink decaf. Dr. Pickett was an absolute fool of a worker. Place needs to be shut down.
