I was in Santa Fe for a week on holiday from Canada. I woke up at 4 a.m. unable to move my head without experiencing great pain. I could not go back to sleep for the pain. Next morning, I phoned a number of chiropractors for help. Dr. Scher's office was able to get me in at 11:00 a.m.
Dr. Scher explained how my body could "lock up" like it did as a defence mechanism. She got my full health history, did a spinal-neural exam.
She then did some gentle adjustment including activating my spine. The session lasted 20 minutes, not the usual seven minutes I am used to with other chiropractors. She was able to reduce my pain level and give me some neck motion without pain. She changed my posture and told me that the treatment would result in continued improvement.
I had a a good night's sleep. Next morning I had almost full mobility with minimal pain. I was a tourist again.
I returned to Dr. Scher the following day for a second adjustment/entrainment session. Again the session was much longer than my usual chiropractic experience. The low force contacts along the spine and the exercises using my breath produced some immediate improvement. After another good night's sleep I was almost back to what I was before my "lock up".
Now a week later after concentrating on my posture and breathing, I am better than I was before the "lock up". I am grateful to Dr. Scher for the extra time she spends on appointments and the expanded approach to wellness that has helped me.

I’ve benefited from chiro in the past and have complex chronic challenges, which Dr Sher said she ‘has healed before, many times over!’, so came for a free consultation because I hadn’t heard of her modality of treatment and it sounded intriguing. I left with an $2000 bill for 3 months of treatment with the ‘oh no you’re in great peril if you don’t buy this package from us!’ sales tactic; the assistant said it would be no problem to give me a superbill but I later learned DR SHER IS NOT EVEN LICENSED AS A CHIROPRACTOR (I think she once was?) so the shabby receipt they gave me after I received a stern ‘talking to’ by Ms Sher for cramping her style and asking for financial support for medical treatment (which i now know, she doesn’t actually provide) for me nothing from my out of network benefits.
The real kicker is that the ‘treatment’ is her touching your back for 15 seconds and then running off to one of the other 5 people she’s also working on simultaneously, all of whom are being charged $70 for a 15 minute visit in which you’re lucky if you actually get 3 minutes of Mrs Sher’s time, total. Beware.

This place was helpful to me in someways such as giving me a safe space to be for a while. But for the “therapy”, its kinda a joke. I was in the male teen unit thingy and most therapy was “group” stuff involving mostly a coloring sheet (coloring is like 90 percent of the stuff you do here) most other people would not participate. This is also the closest you will experience to jail without committing a crime lmao. The other people your in there with are all there for different issues trust me. They mix in suicidal kids with “homicidal” kids. The staff was amazing though. All the tecs made every day better and the time go by faster untill your out and im forever thankful. They were fun but also stood on business. Food was also really good and you really start to look forward to it everyday. Staff is hella strict and make you feel weird too. After having a really bad fall a few years ago, I had residual pain in my lower back. I struggled to do simple tasks that required bending. I recently pulled a muscle in my back which made things worse. My daughter did some research and found Dr. Scher, which I am so grateful to be under her care. After my initial visit with Dr. Scher, I had almost immediate results. I was pleasantly surprised that situations that previously felt overwhelming now seemed manageable. Dr. Scher encourages positivity, managing emotions and practicing self compassion. She emphasizes that stress and emotional challenges need to be addressed from both a nervous system level and a connection level that leads to improved health on many levels, including physical health. I tried other methods of healing that temporarily made me comfortable, but the pain came back. I found that just trying to fix the pain didn’t help me heal. I am excited to really be on the road to healing now!
