Approximately 7 months after reaching out, Will made the decision to better his life by accepting Peggy's offer of help. Once his decision was made, Peggy instantly started moving mountains to get him the help he needed. She was in daily contact with his family offering her advice, supplying helpful contact information, and even talking him through his fears when they became too great and he wanted to run. As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again. A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. When asked if he ever talks to Peggy anymore, the answer is "yes! she's full of valuable resources.". How do you thank someone who has saved the life of someone you thought was lost forever? I had some bumps along the way until I met Evie Dillard. She was so helpful to me by giving me extra resources to get ready to exit treatment. I can tell you the bad was not only exaggerated but most just someone salty and spreading total BS. There are no rodents and I've never been to a house that had zero bugs not even a fly before I got here, not even my father's house. Ok so these 2 floor some with a upper smoking/ lounge deck are nice nice! 4 bedroom 3 full double sink bathrooms , two with walk-in shower , I bath / shower and a half bath by living room. It's fully stocked with any pans coffee pot anything you need. The staff are some of the nicest ppl and you absolutely get to know them. You are treated pretty much how you treat them. Just be kind! Midwood center was the one I went to and the staff there are always awesome. If you need something just speak up, I've seen ppl come through and expect everyone to be mind readers. I would list everyone I love at Harmony but I'm horrible with names but there are standouts. Christine, Crystn (sik). Byron,Lisa, Miss Gail ( Amber always pushing DBT therapy 😬) Bobby, the tech who's name escapes me that calls everyone "Big Dog) And Lastly but firstly Miss Peggy who is the sweetest person I've ever met and she saved my life just by getting to know me calling my phone to talk to someone else. She had my back and actually drove to Salvation Army and helped me get insurance, talked me into Salvation Army in first place and bought my broke ass two packs of smokes She is absolutely a gift from God and deserves to be the highest paid at Harmony! The difference in Mcleod and otherr clincs is Mcleod is really set up to help you succeed. If you come to people as people and treat the staff with respect and understanding, they will do the same for you. I have dosed at the other clinic in Gastonia before I came to Mcleod and I prefer Mcleod 100 percent. Staff really does care here about your life and your recovery. Abby is wonderful and will do whatever she can to help you if you have a problem, the nurses are all nice and polite, the front desk ladies are always friendly and smiling (even at 5 am), my counselor is great, and the peer support staff (Karen) is wonderful as well. So like the other review said, " you get what you put in,." If you want to have a better quality of life and become and maintain your soberity, go to Mcleod, they have everything there to help you get where you need. So glad we have got our clinic back! Donna Wallace 4 months ago I've been with RTA for over 10 years and have seen a lot of changes, good and bad, over that time. A bit of my story first, I had several back surgeries and was on Percocet, fentanyl patches, and demerol all prescribed for several years. When time came to cease medications, my surgeon did not taper me down and instead told me to deal with it. RTA was there for me when nothing else was. I have never been treated with anything but the utmost respect by all staff. I have had several major health problems during my time and these people never failed to make sure that I was receiving the best care I possibly could. Yes, sometimes there are long waits, but there's shortages of nurses in every health care setting across the nation. People don't realize what these nurses go through dealing with several hundred patients a day, some not too happy most of the time, and even people screaming at them to do their job faster. As a retired health care professional myself, I empathize with these nurses and until you've done their job you have no right to criticize. Once these nurses have underwent their extensive training you can get in and out in minutes. The counselors I know there at present are some of the best and most caring people I've had the pleasure to get to know and they have helped me tremendously. Also, I would like to point out one extremely special person, Renita Wallace. She started as my counselor years ago and is now the Program Director. I have never met a person as genuine, kind, and caring as she is. She saved my life as I was going through my health issues in the last 5 years. She even helped my son (with my permission) through these last years. I honestly don't know where I would be without this wonderful lady. She's the best thing that has ever happened to RTA and I hope RTA realizes what they have in her.
