Amanda Anderson 2 weeks ago I was extremely uneasy about having to come to this establishment I was in a mind set of im not the problem I don't have an addiction it's just a choice and extremely uneducated on the risk of marijuana, but I mainly just didn't want to go through this process but let me tell you I ended up with the most authentic therapist she was patient, understanding, educated, we could laugh, I could cry, I could literally just have a moment and she absolutely was there through it all. I was nervous and absolutely having anxiety through the roof but Sherry just made me feel welcome and warm to be apart of them I wouldn't be so confident in my success had it not been for this lady. I gave them hell. Had a horrible attitude. Was so ungrateful. Looking back im so grateful for this program. They took me in with just the clothes on my back, got me hooked up with medicaid and foodstamps as well as a strong support system within the program. They offer parenting classes, therapy, child therapy, case workers, they house you while you are there and make sure you have somewhere safe to stay when you leave. I was allowed an extension by 2 months just to make sure I had somewhere to go since I was homeless when I came in. The staff are stern in policy but they truly care! They wouldn't be in this if they didnt! That's for sure! My daughter will be 10 in a couple months and I catch myself using the things I learned in parenting classes I took here before she was even born! I stop by there from time to time hoping to see some of the workers that were there when I was, and there are still several there!. Im forever grateful for unc horizons and I would highly suggest this place to any mother who is truly ready to get their life back! They are a group of caring individuals who go out of their way to help make sure clients are well taken care of. Chris Gingrich my therapist definitely made sure my individual needs were taken care of in IOP and the outpatient program the last month. Everyone here is really friendly and are a good group of supportive kind people. Only small qualm is this place is very expensive but they accept a 12 month payment plan which is so nice. The high cost of this place is definitely worth feeling welcomed and accepted by everyone. Thanks for all you have done for me here and the people I have met. Amazing place to focus on your mental health journey in a group therapy supportive setting. The anxiety caused my blood pressure to shoot up through the roof. However, Ms. Durham, the nurse, calmed me down and took my anxiety away. Ms. Durham is a pleasant person who does a great job. In addition, Dr. Lee is a great doctor who cares about his patients. He explained everything to me in detail, not only the medical aspect, but also the administration resources that are available for me. I am a hospital corpsman and I have been working in the medical field for decades. I can say that my experience at the VA clinic is not different from any other private clinic, if not better. I only gave this review 4 stars because the receptionist was not smiling nor was she welcoming either. In fact, I felt that she got frustrated with me because she was unable to find my appointment easily. Overall, I can sincerely say that my visit was great! Thanks to the VA and all the staff for providing exceptional services to our veterans! One nurse there is sadistic. A real monster. When giving vaccines he causes as much pain as possible. These people thrive on inefficiency. No one could work harder at doing worse. Being a transgender female, I was given not only the opportunity to go into the women’s program but I also was provided hormones for my transition the ENTIRE time I was there along with counseling from a therapist and psychiatrist for mental health medication management, all for FREE. The medical department at TROSA is amazing!! I didn’t need anything but the clothes on my back when I showed up and they provided everything I needed plus MUCH more for the duration of my time there. The staff not 1 time misgendered me or made me feel different and I was treated like all the other girls; and for that I am very very thankful!!
