Chris in the crisis support unit really went the extra mile to help me. She was on the phone, then came out and met me when I finally made the choice to come in, and gave me some comfort. She was very honest which I really found important, and I'm really glad that I came in. She celebrated the little victories while I had there, and was the one to see me out when I left. Everyone seemed really enjoyable in the CSU and support staff seemed lovely as well. I believe Sarah was the other person I met there, and I really enjoyed how she spoke on my level and it was very calm, and casual, and I liked how the professional getup was gone, it felt very personable and to me that was extremely valuable. The other places I've gone to have been alright, but I'm one of those people who value real person-to-person connection, and my short visit to the crisis unit really helped me out a lot.

Proven Treatments to Help. If you say it doesn’t help in any way, you’re lying and that’s between you and God! They serve all required meals plus more at times. Nice rooms. My experience is the patients treat the workers terribly sometimes. I don’t like that at all. Patient acts like they the president or the universe. Patients think workers should serve them like KIngs and queens. Most pay no money for services. Probably tax payers money, yikes. Stay Humble. God Bless.

I cannot say enough good things about the Recovery Institute of Ohio. From the moment I walked through their doors, I felt welcomed and supported. The staff are incredibly compassionate, skilled, and dedicated to helping each person succeed in their recovery journey. The level of care they provide goes beyond what I expected—it's clear that they genuinely want to see you heal and thrive. The programs are comprehensive and personalized, giving you the tools to address not just the physical aspects of recovery but the emotional and mental ones as well. Whether through one-on-one therapy, group sessions, or holistic activities, every element of the program is designed to foster real, lasting change. What really stands out about the Recovery Institute of Ohio is the sense of community. There’s a strong, supportive network of staff and fellow participants who lift each other up. The center has created an environment that feels like a second home—a safe space where you're not just treated as a patient, but as a person with unique needs and experiences. I’m so grateful for the transformation I’ve experienced here. The tools, knowledge, and relationships I’ve gained have given me the strength to take control of my life and build a brighter future. If you or a loved one are looking for a rehab center, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. It’s truly a place where recovery is possible, and healing happens.

RIO will hold a place in my heart forever. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was welcomed and surrounded by care, love, and support. I met some of the most amazing people I will ever meet, clients and staff. They helped me on a new path of life. Recovery, sobriety, and hope. They showed me that this life IS possible. ❤️

From the moment I walked through the doors for intake, I felt a genuine sense of care and commitment to my recovery. Every step of the journey—from detox to housing, daily activities, and therapy—was thoughtfully designed and supported by a team of truly engaged and compassionate individuals. The staff at Recovery Institute of Ohio didn’t just do their jobs—they invested in my success. Their dedication, encouragement, and willingness to walk alongside me through the laughs, the tears, and the hard moments made all the difference. I also found something I didn’t expect: fellowship. The connections built within the program and the immersion into the Sandusky sober community gave me a sense of belonging and hope. Another unexpected but life-changing part of the process was learning how to have fun while sober—through group outings, activities, and shared experiences that reminded me life can be joyful without substances. I was so deeply impacted that I made the decision to move to Sandusky permanently—to stay close to the recovery community and maintain the connection with the RIO staff who helped change my life. This place isn’t just about getting clean; it’s about building a life rooted in love, accountability, and long-term recovery. I’m forever grateful to RIO for their passion, their belief in me, and the foundation they helped me build for lasting sobriety.

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the incredible support I received from Unison. After experiencing an accident, I had to join a program while also managing communication with the court — a very stressful time in my life. Thankfully, my consultant Chyna was with me every step of the way. She went above and beyond, offering guidance, encouragement, and all the resources I needed. I also want to recognize Mrs. Gaston, whose warmth and kindness lifted me during one of my lowest moments. Her support made a huge difference, and I’ll never forget the role she played in helping me through. I’m currently working with Bruce, and he’s been great — professional, understanding, and consistent. Thank you to everyone at Unison. Your dedication and compassion truly changed my life. I appreciate each and every one of you.

I just want to say how incredibly grateful I am for the care I received at the veteran clinic yesterday. 05/27/25 I had accidentally left my effexor in another city and hadn’t taken it in three days (please don’t EVER do this!), I was a complete wreck, both physically and emotionally. I rushed to the clinic in a bad state, and even though they were clearly understaffed, everyone treated me with such compassion and urgency. I especially want to thank the pharmacy tech working at the desk by the windows. I was crying, struggling, and deep in withdrawal symptoms, but she never once made me feel judged or invalidated. she was kind, patient, and truly went above and beyond to help me get what I needed. her empathy meant everything to me in that moment. I also want to shout out the woman who helped with registration. she was calm, efficient, and kind, which really helped ease some of my anxiety. I left that clinic feeling heard, cared for, and supported. thank you so much to the team for taking care of us!!!!

Very helpful in many areas concerning mental health. Having an outside ear to bend is at times easier than talking to someone in your circle. Have learned to deal with my Anxiety, PTSD, and associative disorder. Some things that those close to me just really couldn’t understand. Have been to some of the group sessions and those have been very helpful on many levels. I have recommended this place to others. I don’t know if any of them have taken that first step or not.

In the year and a half I've been going here I've received great care, thats not to say there hasn't been a hiccup or 2 but you have to take that into consideration when dealing with ANY recovery facility. Some of us needing care are arguably at our worse, some days they may have an emergency or 2 show up that need immediate care and can slow daily operations down. I've received callbacks the same day, if not within 24 hours. Most of my appointments are on time or a little early and have very rarely run late. Would recommend

Last year we were in desperate need of help for our son. Not only did Harbor get us connected to a wonderful counselor (Robert), but they also connected us with Amanda Chagolla who has always been just an email or call away when it comes to questions and handling our son’s medication. Mental health and healthcare in general is such a tough area of work to be in, but they do the best they can and treat us with respect which I really appreciate. Our son is back to straight A’s, enjoying school, and has wonderful support system now which means the world to us as his parents.
