I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the incredible support I received from Unison. After experiencing an accident, I had to join a program while also managing communication with the court — a very stressful time in my life. Thankfully, my consultant Chyna was with me every step of the way. She went above and beyond, offering guidance, encouragement, and all the resources I needed.
I also want to recognize Mrs. Gaston, whose warmth and kindness lifted me during one of my lowest moments. Her support made a huge difference, and I’ll never forget the role she played in helping me through.

I just want to say how incredibly grateful I am for the care I received at the veteran clinic yesterday. 05/27/25 I had accidentally left my effexor in another city and hadn’t taken it in three days (please don’t EVER do this!), I was a complete wreck, both physically and emotionally. I rushed to the clinic in a bad state, and even though they were clearly understaffed, everyone treated me with such compassion and urgency.
I especially want to thank the pharmacy tech working at the desk by the windows. I was crying, struggling, and deep in withdrawal symptoms, but she never once made me feel judged or invalidated. she was kind, patient, and truly went above and beyond to help me get what I needed. her empathy meant everything to me in that moment.
I also want to shout out the woman who helped with registration. she was calm, efficient, and kind, which really helped ease some of my anxiety.
I left that clinic feeling heard, cared for, and supported. thank you so much to the team for taking care of us!!!!

First off the waiting room will give you anxiety there were 8 people waiting for appointments, 2 children running around & a woman changing a babies diaper.I would imagine they would try to keep it as serene as possible.They billed me before I even talked to a "therapist" I was in the office for 5 minutes and she said they couldn't help me. Doesn't seem very professional.If your in true need of mental health therapy I wouldn't recommend.

I had a small (HUGE) problem with Bayshore a few years back that even resulted in policy change but since then with staffing upgrades the place is awesome. My therapist Chelsea is hands down the best in the industry. I've been in therapy for over 30 years and never made the personal growth I have experienced with my team at Bayshore. They. Eat the other local option, Firelands, alive.
I would have given 5 stars but I hold resentments for my incident there, but I'll add that to the list of things I need to work on.

Wonderful staff. They really want to see you get better. Only downfall is that there are some patients that can be unruly or are just there to detox and not actually heal themselves. I still would recommend this treatment center to anyone going through addiction or mental health issues. Thank arrowhead for turning my life around.

I wanted to give shout out to outstanding staff members here, but I realized the list grew too long and every member of staff was amazing. This applies to the Mentor Division:
I had to go 1.5 weeks without my Psych. medications because they were not approving the dosage for Express Scripts. (Thankfully I had back stock for 3 days, because of me forgetting to take it.) I have to use a dosage that needs approval for a 3 month supply, because my medication is only covered by my insurance if it is a 3 month supply. I also have to use Express Scripts, to acquire that medication. I kept calling and was told that they were sending my psychiatrist (at the time) the approval for the 3 months. (A month before this, I tried to get the 3 months supply, but never got an approval. So, I had to pay extra and get a 1 month supply. When the 1 month had about a week left, I reached out about the text above.) After 1.5 weeks I contacted Express Scripts, to see if it was an error on their end. They told me that they were never contacted and never received approval. They put me on hold and called Charak, and was told that Charak was still waiting for my doctor to respond. Express Scripts asked me if I wanted to just refill the 1 month at a pharmacy. I told her it was supposed to be a 3 month supply. She told me that the approval that I was waiting for was a 1 month supply, instead of a 3 month. She asked me if I wanted that refill and I said no. I ended up calling my work doctor's office and explained the situation, and got the meds 3 days later.
A month later my therapist sent out an immediate action medication switch letter. When I had my appointment I went off on my doctor, turns out he never received any of the emails or documents. (What if he lied to you? Why would he? Why would he let a psych. patient go without meds, that give them the will to live?)
I also kept telling them that I had to go to a different Pharmacy, because my insurance didn't cover their personal Pharmacy. So, for the first couple of months, my medications were not refilled until I called them. They never saved the pharmacy and after 3 months my new psychiatrist fixed it. ( My old one wouldn't, she quit.)
My "new" psychiatrist was OG. I'm glad he quit and found a better job. As promised, I wrote this review after he left, because I don't think it was his fault.

Sue in Stow is amazing!!!! She has always taken great care of me. I have been coming to the Charak Center for years and I look forward to seeing her bright and helpful face. She has talked me down several times when I was in bad shape. She still helps me when I am not feeling well. Sometimes I would end up end up in the hospital without her talking to me.
She amazes me with how she is always doing what seems like everyone else’s job. I always see her doing everything and again am amazed.

The councilers & Doctor really have empathy for what people are going thru, they don't judge, and help you every step of the way. I had off & on experiences throughout my multiple times here. A few staff every now & then bugged me, and I had some uncomfortable circumstances with other clients but overall– the PHP program helped quite a bit. Mrs. Nichelle, Mr. Chase, and Mrs. Flo were overall my favorite staff. They were kind, very very understanding and overall did their best too help people at their crisis points, even when times got heavy. They made sure everyone was accommodated too, and comfortable. I cannot recall the amount of times I've came back or needed a few minutes, and they didn't get upset or seem disappointed– but more or so gentle, and understanding. As for outpatient therapy, Ashley has been by far the best out of all 3 therapists I've had!! She's been nothing but understanding, and sympathetic towards my experiences. Psychiatry is iffy though, there's not much I know how too word about it.

Updating my review to 4 stars instead of 2.I have been going here for 5 years. Sad to see Dr. Bentley leave. He was awesome. This place is way better in every way than the Marion center. The pharmacy here is great. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is one of the nurses is somewhat rude and confrontational at times. She should leave her opinions to the doctors and not try to give out medical/medication advice. The other nurse is very nice.

Thank you to the hospital, doctors, and nurses who care more about the patient than money. May God reward you for your kindness. I swear to God, people of America, you will not find a hospital that cares for you like this one. It doesn't discriminate based on your religion, color, or race. It cares for you whether you are an immigrant or a citizen, whether you have health insurance or not. They will care for you. I am writing this thank you because I lost my children at another hospital called Corwell Health Dearborn. My wife was five months pregnant when she started bleeding, so I took her to the hospital. Because of the negligence they showed my wife and children, she bled uncontrollably while they searched for health insurance for over an hour and a half. After that, they took her to the emergency room, gave her two sleeping pills, and told me to take her home. She was in pain, and the bleeding wouldn't stop. I took her home, heartbroken, wondering what would happen to my wife and children. Then I took her back to her doctor, but the nurse who was with her refused to see her, and the bleeding still hadn't stopped. I took her back to the same hospital, and when we entered, the tragedy occurred. We lost my children, and my wife is now in shock because, after ten years, I finally became pregnant, and in the end, the hospital and fate took them. I will never forgive them before God, and that is why I am so loyal to this hospital, this legendary hospital, for its compassionate treatment of patients. Thank you so much.

4 stars for detox, 1 for woman's supportive housing. Alot of people are there because they have to be, or they have no place else to go, so it's very chaotic. Not a healthy environment for recovery, in my opinion. The gossip around campus is that the higher ups are only about the money, but I'm not sure if that's true. The counselors are great, but there is not enough of them. Two of the nighttime RA's were awful, gossipy, lazy, cold, and unprofessional.

This place saved my life. I went there straight from detox and I was home!!! I stayed sober clean and I'm hoping to get a job there I filled out an application? A awesome person I met Melissa Johnston she currently works there she was a client there when I was!! I will never forget the food I got to eat it was amazing!!! The staff was so caring and engaged!! I was treated for hep c while I was there to!!! A nice room with a shower in it!!!!! A personal trainer so we got to work out!!!! The kitchen was opened all night which I thought was great!!! I’ve been to a couple different clinics, CMS is by far the cleanest, fastest, and overall one of the best clinics. Tiffany is always a pleasure to deal with. She’s knowledgeable, respectful and goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smooth. The same can be said for Tanya and the nurses. Tanya has gone out her way to help me on multiple occasions and is always there to give an encouraging word. The Doctor is friendly and thorough, so are the counselors. If you are looking for MAT treatment I would recommend checking this place out. One negative aspect is the billing process if you are paying out of pocket keep your receipts and stay on top of your payments.

I cannot recommend New Oakland and am very frustrated with follow through re: communicated requests prior to admission at intake and now needs for DC planning. I have been told YES to all my inquires to obtain admission with no results! No psychiatry f/u after DC from day program for medication management (outside services confirmed at intake and still told YES), no lab draws as discussed at intake, no summary for primary care as requested 24 hours in advance. Ridiculous.
My biggest concern is unmet mental heal needs upon DC from their program. My insurance has been billed and I have paid hundreds (I mean hundreds) of dollars in copays and deductibles. Here I am 4 days into the program, DC tomorrow and find myself still looking for mental health care for my adolescent after DC from their program AND after all my concerns were confirmed and addressed as doable at intake!!
On a positive note, New Oakland does communicate well with the school.
