I would like recognition to go to Dr. Ashley Kenzik for her superior work in treating my diabetes. I was taking 3 shots of Novolog and 2 shots of Lantus per day along with a weekly shot of Ozembic. I now take solely one shot of Ozembic per week. And with the Ozembic my weight has gone from 305 to 258. In my opinion, one could not ask for a better physician than Dr. Kenzik. 08/14/25, this is to bring recognition to Dr. Pileski and Norma Thomas. I went to the civilian ER this morning for swelling in my calf and both feet. Doctor said I needed a certain medication asap and sent prescription to civilian pharmacy. Couldn't get hold of them all day. Norma called me to check on my status, and when I informed her of the situation she put in to have that med. shipped overnight. Can always trust the VA.

Some people care and most don't, this has been my experience in Sheffield village. Most Dr.s (the outside world) try to go the extra mile to help you if you are in pain..these people question you. I would really like to drop the Dr. I have now, for a different one. Very frustrating! Update..got a new Dr. and was explained alot more about my condition. This is what I have learned about dealing with the V.A. or anything dealing with the government. If you don't feel they are listening to you, you have the right to drop them for a different person. Right now..I am satisfied with my new Dr. I will give 4 stars and hope I don't have to find another one.

No one ever said that it would be a picnic, or luxurious. The staff helps you to be as comfortable as you possibly can, while going through such a change. It was the single best accident of my life I was sober or clean whichever you use and had been since 2016 when I started seeing Applegate in 2018. This place performs miracles. I am living proof. I have a life that I can take part in and enjoy now and Applegate recovery is why I have that luxury. If you're thinking about a place please just call, I am so glad I did. These people truly care about every single patient they know you by name they know your backstory they don't forget your backstory and I will say that the best change I've seen over the years started with Applegate and that is it is a forgiving program that works. Outstanding nursing staff. Really can't elaborate enough about how great they were. Moreover, the actual care and treatment were excellent.
I don't think I saw my assigned doctor a single time during my 3 day stay, but the nursing staff made sure I was in good hands and felt safe.
Decent food considering it's a hospital, although they quite literally got every single meal wrong to varying degrees. For instance, one order had 8 items on it, and only 1 was correct.
The showers are awful and extremely cold.

The recent renovations have turned an already very special home into a beautiful place to live while beginning a new life in sobriety. They transport my daughter daily to a adult center. They are so efficient, they contact me nightly to let me know who is picking her up and what time they will be arriving. The drivers will either text or call me 10 minutes ahead to be ready for pickup. Great staff they have, they go beyond the call if duty. My daughter thinks Paul and Leon are the best.

It's really hot or miss if you use the family center for residents. I had had disappointment early on and then when I went back I got a great doctor who became my PCP for the next 9 months. I have come so far in my journey to better health bc of her yet bc it's a residency program she finished her residency and left a month ago and I have yet to meet my new PCP. I miss my old PCP already as the new one who I've only spoken with through mychart briefly doesn't have a grip on everything we had been doing and the progress we have made. However if you need to get in quickly this place is great and most of the doctors and nurses really seem to care. I am disappointed today though because I had labs scheduled and showed up after work since all of their Google pages stay the lab here is open from 8-8 but if you click on their actual page it says 7-5:30. The clinic would need to update that with Google. Hopefully I will like my new PCP and she will do what's necessary to get my insane labs under control.

I'm getting deeper into my recovery here they're very helpful with programs and avenues. I couldn't be happier with their care today I'm grateful to completed my previous programs at landmark and legends. They all serve a purpose and I say today it's about the willingness to obtain a sponsor, home group, multiple phone numbers and multiple sponsorship. Build relationships with others in the program because it is a "WE" PROGRAM. I see so much negativity on here, I realize that most have never read the chapter "working with others" and they have no gratitude. Y-Haven keep doing what your doing. It's minor things wrong with the place, but overall great program and thank you for keeping the doors open for me and others. I have heat, water, food, safe place, meetings around me. For others coming into the program of recovery don't look for the negatives, look for ppl who want their recovery like yourself and stick with those ppl. Thanks for the opportunity

Personally, I loved my experience at Matt Talbot for women. Between the food that was good for a treatment center that is just there to get you back on your feet and the lovely RA’s I felt welcomed and at a comfortable place to restart my life. I believe people don’t realize that once you bring yourself into a treatment center you’re giving your life over to the care of people that are just there to help you get sober, but at Matt Talbot they do so much more than that. I got a sense of family friendship and peer support. I want to give a special shout out to the RA’s Ms.Shannon, Ms.Lacie, Ms.Robyn, Ms.Arnetha, Ms.Ashely, Mr.Jerry, Ms.Gloria and more. No matter what time it was, they were there for me when I wanted or Needed something. If it was someone to talk to when I was feeling down or just a pen to write in my journal if it was a volleyball game to play outside or to listen to music on the speaker, they did it with a smile on their face and no hesitation. Not only were the RA’s Delightful And like a family to me, the counselors and group facilitators were also amazing. To name a few Ms.Dorlene was one of the best people to do groups with, my counselor Ms.Jill Was very supportive and a great listener. Ms.Liandre was also great with her groups and a very strong woman who was fair to everyone and gave us candy. Ms.Erin I didn’t work with personally, but she did a good group with Ms.Jill. Same with Mr.Charlie I didn’t personally work with him but he did a good group and was fun to be around. Long story short if your looking for help to get sober In a clean environment with a sense of family And supportMatt Talbot is the place to go.

It was too notch care & its a good place to start your life over & the food was catered/great.. It seems to operate within the bounds of good decent Christian values. I been to a luxury treatment center in Florida & Matt Talbot was even better in multiple ways... I asked a judge to send me there because I said I would leave CBCF whoch is a sham... Signature has always taken care of my needs!! They go above and beyond to make sure that everything is good with me. All of my health care, mental health needs, dietary needs, check ups, rides to my appointments, Signature Health does it all! The staff had always been helpful and welcoming also. I don't want any other providers besides them.

Inpatient, there needs to be more groups and activities to fill in idol time. I found that I had anxiety more when we were just sitting around. Great nurses. And Barb is the best. The food is horrendous. For hospital food you would think it would be healthier and of better quality. Outpatient, I wouldn't change a thing. Great program and counselors. Especially Elizabeth. Also, when going to the ER for mental health issues, the area where they hold us is not good. Left alone for 4 hours, except when medical staff visited. Gave me worse anxiety. Thank God they let someone to come in and sit with me after a period of time. Thank you

Negatives: OK the rooms weren't exactly up to Ritz standards and the food was hospital grade. There were one or two staff members that seemed less than happy to be there and even a little short with the patients. No place is going to get a five star rating. You are going to find faults no matter where you go.
I was in inpatient between January 9th and 14th for anxiety and depression as well as "SI". This was my first time in a facility, so I was extremely apprehensive. I had seen the horror stories about mismanaged mental hospitals and was on high alert going in. It ended as soon as I was carted in. The staff was, for the most part, very helpful and caring. They did regular vital checks, bed checks, 4 counseling classes a day (optional), had regular 1on 1 check ins with psychiatrists and therapists, etc... This place was an overall game changer. I went in at the end of my rope. I had hit the wall in every way. This place and the people in it helped me process my feelings, got me on necessary medication, and helped me find outside mental health assistance for my continued recovery.
To the staff and my peers. Thank you for your kindness and compassion in helping me climb out of the darkness.

My mother is mentally ill and has been coming here a few years now and she says they have a great program and a great staff. She says they have always treated her with respect and compassion, and that the treatment they have given to her has worked. Both of my kids take counseling here , the people who work here are very friendly, understanding and very kind... i love my kids counselor shes the best. They have counseling for adults and kids if you ever need counseling services here is the best place to be i highly recommend them! ☺️❤️
