From intake, to the billing department (Chance), to my group therapy sessions (and my therapist, Tim...awesome dude), and my coach (Jackie) I was shown love, care, and support by everyone with whom I came in contact, staff and fellow patients alike. They provided me with a judgement-free environment where I was able to be honest and vulnerable to get the most out of my recovery. I came in to the program in absolute tatters and left with my head held high. I was given the tools necessary to ensure that I started my journey of recovery on the right path. To anyone reading this and debating facilities or programs, please stop looking. This is the spot you need to be. If it worked on me, I assure you it can work on you. The entire staff from the lady answering the call on intake to the doctors and therapists, they all have your best interest in mind and are there to help and MAKE SURE you improve your quality of life with sobriety. Tim Byrum has been the greatest therapist anyone could ask for. I highly recommend him as a Therapist and Journey pure as a facility. He goes above and beyond for the people in the group and I truly felt connected with the group and Tim when attending his group. I’ve tried other therapist at Journey pure but there wasn’t a lot of involvement with others and the connection and trust wasn’t there like it was with Tim. Journey pure has a true asset having Tim and other therapist there could really learn a lot from Tim. Groups with Tim felt like family lots of involvement you never felt alone and he really taught me a lot and made things easy to understand more so taught me to take a step back and look at the bigger picture and the knowledge I learned in just the few days I was in his group I will carry with me in this long journey of sobriety thank you Tim for everything!! Dr Malchow is unlike any provider I've ever met. He exudes kindness, compassion, and peace. Our initial consultation was every bit of an hour if not more and I had the doctor's complete attention. She was very pleasant from the time I walked in the door, not to mention she gave me the correct visitation time and demonstrated a genuine willingness to assist. I would also like to recognize Courtney, Social Worker, for taking the time to personally come and speak with me. She explained the discharge treatment plan and made sure I understood the information. I truly appreciated her communication and willingness to take the time to address my questions. Overall, I am grateful for the staff members who demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to providing good customer service. Area for Improvement: One concern I experienced was with the telephone system. On several occasions, someone would answer the phone and then hang up without speaking. Additionally, when I did call back the automated message stated that all staff were busy and instructed caller to press 1 for reception. This made it somewhat difficult to reach someone when assistance was needed. Improving the telephone response process and ensuring callers are connected appropriately would enhance the overall experience. Positivity 1 week ago they did have group therapy sessions. I'm glad I had the services. I'm not certain the social worker helped me. I did feel like I was in a jail. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit her, there. She was in really good spirits, elated to see her brother, her mom, and me. (Just sayin- I am the fun one.😉) She is being well cared for and their system of visitor management is very tight. As it should be. Caring for the mentally ill has to be one of the most difficult services to perform, wouldn't you think? I sure do. From what I saw yesterday, I am very glad that Trustpoint is willing to take on such a difficult task. The place was as "clean as a whistle." The staff was very knowledgeable about their procedures. They were courteous, helpful while at the same time there was an atmosphere of firmness. A good firmness. This Veterans Outpatient Clinic is convenient for me to access because it's not far from where I live. I like to go see my Care Provider here for my medical follow-ups. I usually get in and out fairly quickly. The nurses are friendly and very professional. There is a on sight lab here for me to get my lab work requirements done. I normally go to see my Veterans Affairs Doctor every 6 months. The parking area is efficient and I normally don't have any problems finding a place to park my vehicle. I have been going to the Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic located at 1919 Charlotte Ave in Nashville Tennessee for a few years now. However on occasion it's a little hard to find a place to park. I’ve unfortunately been back and forth a few times which makes healing feel so frustrating but I never feel shamed by the staff for having to come back. I always hope I never go back but I don’t feel like I can’t if I need to which I am grateful for. However, I have been told by a nurse that only losers attempt to take their life, been laughed at for crying during a strip search with the door open, and been told to basically just work harder or figure things out while in still a state of crisis. I would still go back but these things and sometimes not feeling heard make me hesitant.
