I've only ever had 2 problems here, therefore only 4 . The second problem is 'no longer with us", so it's a moot point.I highly recommend them if you need mental health assistance.Intake takes at least half a day, but for appointments, I only wait at most 30 mins if they are running behind. The person that you had to wait hours to see is no longer with them.

I don't know why there's negative reviews but my experience is and could be different. But the doctors, therapist and the safe were amazing, sweat, kind, and understanding! I was there getting my mental health better and it has gotten so much better I was there for about 5ish days I was discharged today and I'm so happy to be better. I miss all the people there and the friends I've made there but they are getting better for themselves too! Just one day a a time!!

Ok the staff members were very nice and understanding. Met some nice people. But I didn t like how I couldn t wear my wedding ring and my engagement ring. It was sad because I was literally by myself for 5 days and when I wasn t wearing my rings some people thought I was divorced. But I wasn t. I wish I could have kept my rings.

The staff here are wonderful and actually care about the patients and treat them like real people. They were understaffed and I didn't get to see a therapist every day, but I did get to see a psychiatrist every day to help adjust my medicines each day. Even though they were short staffed, the care and attention they showed made this a wonderful experience. I would definitely go back if I ever needed to.

Embark Behavioral Health in Benton, TN, was truly a lifeline for our family when we had no other hope. Our 13-year-old son just completed the program, and the transformation we ve seen in him is nothing short of incredible. His ability to regulate his anger has improved tremendously, and we feel more equipped as parents to support him moving forward.A huge part of this success is thanks to his therapist, Kevin, who was an absolute Godsend. Kevin has the patience of a saint and not only helped our son but also taught us as parents more than we ever thought possible. The guidance and support we received throughout this journey were life-changing.If you re on the fence about taking this step, I encourage you to do it. It s scary, but for us, it has been the best decision we ve ever made for our family. We are forever grateful to Embark!

If you are searching for a residential program, you have found it. I cannot express the true impact the team in Benton has had on our family. Beginning on day one, they tirelessly invested in not only our son, but our family as one unit. The support and care is unmatched and we are so grateful. They have helped us restore the peace, understanding, and love within our family.

Our 15-year-old son went to Embark on 12/2/24 and was discharged on 3/9/25. Before Embark, he struggled with a whirlwind of emotions that made day to day activities difficult for him and those around him. He had been in therapy since he was 3 and we felt like we were just spinning our wheels and going in circles. The anger and aggression was escalating and property destruction was frequent. Our son struggled with low self esteem, communicating with others, intrusive thoughts, suicidal ideations, and even a suicide attempt. After several acute stays and a lot of back and forth about what the next steps should be, we decided to give residential a try. After being denied by a few other facilities, we felt defeated. Then I saw an ad for Embark on my FB feed. After combing through the website, I called. The process was fairly easy and VERY thorough, which I loved. When we got the call that there was a bed available, I was so nervous. I hadn't spent more than a week away from any of my kids and here I was about to send a part of my heart off to some strange place nearly 8 hours away from home and trust strangers to care for him. From the moment that we stepped foot in the front door, we were welcomed with open arms and treated like family. The knots that were in my stomach began to fade away and I knew that he was in good hands. Chris was our son's therapist. He challenged our son to think on a deeper level and access some things that he buried a long time ago. He treated our son with compassion and structure that was much needed and we cannot thank him enough. The residential and rec staff are amazing as well, and have really made a lasting impact on our son. Chef Dan was amazing and took time to listen to our son when he needed to talk (our son has a passion for cooking, too). School has always been tough for our son. At Embark, he recieved the supports that he needed and actually started to enjoy learning again. Each staff member got to know our son and it was so nice to hear other people point out his strengths instead of focusing on the things that he struggles with.Family Days were well thought out and engaging. Each activity allowed us to learn more about our son and ourselves. We were able to realize things that needed to change in our family system. We were challenged to see things through the eyes of our child, and with that came a lot more understanding, communication, and grace with each other. When we got the call that our son would be discharging, it was bittersweet. He was a little sad to leave his friends and the staff that he became so fond of. We were nervous about how things would go when we returned home. The transition planning was done wonderfully. Ian helped us make sure that everything was set up back home (therapy, meds, school). He even sat in on an IEP meeting that occurred over a week after discharge and has followed up with us to make sure things were going well.We are very pleased with the progress that our son has made in the short 3 months that he was there. He made real connections with peers; something that he has struggled doing since he was little. He learned to embrace the things that make him unique. He discovered talents that he didn't know he had. He experienced things that he likely would not have experienced at home.Since returning home, he has definitely gotten frustrated and angry (it is inevitable with 4 siblings). The difference is that he has learned so many skills and how to implement those skills at the right time. Situations that would have escalated to thrown/smashed furniture and screaming that lasted hours three months ago are now a few huffs and puffs and a little grunting that lasts minutes. We have definitely noticed his efforts in using his coping skills since he's been home and I am so proud of all the hard work that he has put in and the growth he has shown.I would 100% recommend Embark at Benton to anyone who is looking into residential treatment for their son. If we ever get to a point where it's needed again, we know where we will calling first.

I just wanted to give this place a huge shout out. If it wasn't for this program, I don't know where I'd be. Harmony actually saved my life, from figuring out my personallaty disorder at Summit, to the treatment at Oaks. By this, I have been able to feel myself again.Nick, Jarrett, Dani, Steph and the others in the clinical building, this team is out of this world. They are thoughtful, frindly, but still are stern and keep things in order while makin you feel understood. The techs at the housing, which is amazing by the way, are also the best group of people out there. Sam, Hub, Gino, Crystal, Steve, George, and Teri. (I'm sure I'm missing a few here) are so caring. They listen, they talk with you, give great advice, and you honestly know they care. It's this weird dynamic of freedom and keeping the rules tight, but they make it work so you feel safe and can work on your goals. If you're looking for Mental Healt treatment, I can't reccomend this facility enough. I spent 4 months between residential and Housing, and it was the best decision I could have made.

Edit: April 2025 - They have finally gotten enough dosing nurses in the past few months so i felt it was fair to update my review and score. The other update is that Alicia is no longer my counselor. It has been Kimberly for at least 2 years now and she is Amazing! With that said ive left the original review as is for anyone to read. The bad rating is for whoever runs the company.Heres why: The employees are great. With maybe one or two exceptions everyone who works there does a GREAT job. From Joy at the cash office to Jen doing all purpose everything, to Alicia counseling, to Dr. Adeshina, to the dosing nurses. Sadly there are only 3 dosing nurses now. 4 when they pull someone back thats transitioning to counselor. There needs to be AT LEAST 4 dosing nurses a day if not 5. Also each counselor has at least 60 patients. I was told one has 80 now.It costs 13 a day for medicine. Thats 364 per month. Since there are 10 counselors if not more that means there are 600 patients at a minimum. Do the math 600 multiplied by 364. Thats 2.6 million a year, on the low end, in revenue. The employees need to be paid more! If they were it wouldnt be constantly short of dosing nurses. It seems like half of the ones hired dont even stay for s year. Some just walk out on the place. There should be more counselors as well.Whoever owns the place can afford to pay more. Since the owners dont even work there just collect money from the workers. Since capitalism is basically a pyramid scheme but thats for another time and place. Most of us patients would even gladly pay more money if it meant getting and keeping more employees. Its not convenient to have to spend an hour and twenty minutes to dose like today. Or even a half hour to 45 minutes most other days.Get it together owners of crossroads. If you dont people will leave and wont come back. There are plenty of other options now and outside of volunteer clinic they are all better. At least as far as how much time you have to spend there. Its not hard. Ive been to another state where you are never there more than 5 minutes. You pay weekly so its no daily line there. They call ur number to one of 3 dosing windows 5 feet away thru a door. The dosing nurses asks your social and last name and then hands you a cup of your dose and you leave.Get it fixed soon. Your patients deserve it and your workers are amazing and over worked and deserve better pay.

I am so grateful for crossroads. I moved to Chattanooga for a job opportunity and I decided to go to crossroads as I had 6 yrs in recovery on suboxone but It got to where I couldn t afford the doctor and the medication. When I started i crossroads I was ready to make real change and work on my self and all of my issues that caused me to use. Little by little I started to feel like me but a better me. After about 2 months in treatment I started a small construction business. Knowing absolutely nothing about it but I succeeded and became very successful. I start making really good money and I expressed to my counselor that if I had been in control of that amount of money I would have been dead but instead I became responsible I started paying bills and doing things that I had dreamed of being able to do but was never quite able too. Crossroads has helped me have a whole new life an amazing life. I started making Amends to everyone I had hurt unless it would have caused more harm. One by one I fixed relationships that had been broken for 15-16 years. I am so thankful for crossroads. I have never been able to talk to counselors without feeling judged or embarrassed but here I was able to open up and talk about everything. This place is amazing. I have never met people that where actually in this line of work to help but they are. And joy, Jenn, the doc , the nurses and counselors they all make it possible. 10 out of 10 for sure and I recommend them to anyone I come in contact with that needs help. My husband passed away unexpectedly January 4th of 2024 and my counselor helped me through it to the best of her ability. Before I came here had that happened I would have totally relapsed and given up on life. I ll stop going on but they are amazing.

My experience at this place has been good but be mindful that most counselors are great but there are a couple there that really do not seem to care so if your gut tells you early on that you should get a new one defiantly do that and always pray ask for guidance and strength for the Heavenly Father is always there for each of us. Happy New Year be safe and keep the faith.

While most was good about my experience it is a cultural shock as well. Not quite as it shows but if you make the most out of the program it is worth it. While the planned trips are not always the best and should be organized not just going somewhere and sitting there. Also I u destined that this is part of the network however I feel that it would have been great to do things with just the Riverwalk people and not always having to work with the other building. Housing is what you make of it. While we have issues and reasons for being there in all truth if you make it a bad place then it is a bad place. The staff worked great to help those there and were great about protecting each client while there. While I was only there for PHP program they really cared about those in IOP as well and tried to help them as long as they we were willing to work the program and try. Yes things happen but they were always handled and dealt with quickly and efficiently. George (tech) was great. And the 2nd shift , Jarred, Mike, Melina, Steve, Mama Jennifer always made the evenings better after getting back from clinical. For having all the clients from both facilities in housing and all the difference the 2nd shift was really able to keep a good handle on things with 30+ clients there. Not an easy task considering meds and house checks but they were great. It also helped me when there that we had a good sense of community and would do a lot of family meals outside since we couldn t mix the women and men into other houses. It is treatment after all and so there are rules but it isn t like you are watched 24/7. There not cameras in the rooms nor main rooms of the house so it is private however the techs are always checking every 15 minutes. But where there is a will there is a way I will say. Several left due to the fact that they were doing things or trying to that were not acceptable. So remember they are human too and while they want to support everyone some times it isn t enough. You have to be willing to accept the help and open to changes. That is one great this this program taught me. I still talk to quite a few of those meet in treatment and we have our own support group outside now. While we really wish that we could talk with some of the staff and let them know how we are doing the corporation does make it hard for us to give feed back to them, which after being with some of the members for over a month is hard because you know they truly care and you want them to know that you are doing well that they helped you. Overall I spent 60 days in the Harmony Oaks programs between a residential program and the PHP program. some are life time connections others were passing ships but a huge impact while going through the program.

If your teenager is showing signs of drug or alcohol addiction and you aren’t sure where to go for help, Parkridge Valley Hospital could be the answer. This behavioral health hospital has a dedicated campus for kids and adolescents in Chattanooga, Tennessee. There’s a program for kids ages 5 to 12, too, but it’s the program for teens ages 13
When I first came here I expected it to be a terrible place due to all the negative thoughts I would have. Starting with the first month I thought I was absolutely losing my mind. there were routines I wasn't used to, new faces, rules, etc. Heading towards the second month I would always end up getting into things like drama and used it as a distraction, which I thought would help but it didn't. By the third month I had learned a LOT. I stayed to myself more often, I was used to my meds, the routines, food, etc...Staying to myself more made it a lot more easier to cope and actually think before I speak since I struggle with impulsive behaviors. As I reached my fourth month I came towards the end of my treatment, I felt I guess, calm. even though sometimes things were hectic, I knew how to handle things the appropriate way. I learned boundaries, communication, and how to be assertive. with gathering all of this almost at once and having a bonus of having it together made me feel calm, I wasn't stuck with the screaming in my head, it was quiet and I could think. Overall, my thoughts on this place is pretty positive. yes it has its ups and downs but it was pretty great to have help. the only thing I really had a problem with was some of the food ... It was just the thought of having almost the same thing everyday. I also met a lot of good people, including the staff members. I would mention shout outs but I wouldn't want any of the other staff members to get offended .Overall, great nurses, BEST DOCTOR EVERRRR (Mr.Dr.Nurse.Jennings)Great place -Kayleigh :)

Parkridge Valley is one of a kind, the staff are amazing they helped me through everything I was going through. Especially the following techs, Ms. Meka, Ms. Keisha, Ms. Jackie, Ms. WoWo, Ms. Megan, and Ms. Erica, all of these techs helped me through what I was going through, they were the ones that kept me on track and didn't give into my urges. The Nurses, Nurse Jessica and Nurse Hallie were amazing at their job. The social workers were amazing and cared about what you had to say. Ms. Catherine and Ms. Sara they always provided us with something fun other than sitting on the unit. Even on the Acute side all of the techs and nurses were more than amazing. I Love Y'all.---CiCi

I was going through a tough time and they were there listening patiently. The nursing staff, the counselors were so kind and understanding. To be completely honest, I was saddened to leave. They are there when life hands you a basket of lemons. Before you leave, you ll be highly rewarded with the tools and knowledge to make a new start.

I could never sing enough praises for this hospital. Every staff member was kind, compassionate, helpful, and gentle. Debbie, Ron, Bonnie, Meggan, Sheila, James, Corinne, the night MH Tech (sorry I didn't ask your name), and anyone else on unit 100 thank you so much for creating such a safe and comfortable environment. You really went above and beyond the call to service. To the two art and music therapists, thank you both, wonderful work. Thoroughly enjoyed your sessions. Elaine, Andrea truly above and beyond work you did couldn't ask for better social workers. You made my transition in and out of the hospital so easy. Greg and Jake at intake you immediately eliminated any fears I had. Greg was honestly the light of the whole experience. Incredible. I could not be where I'm at on my healing journey without each and every one or you.The doctors/NP were all very kind and helpful as well but I only saw them for maybe 15 minutes total combined. But Dr. Oliver was fantastic discussing my treatment options and getting me settled into meds.

I have been in the VA system since 1991 and to tell you the truth Athens and Chattanooga VA has been the best. When I get to the site and check in sometimes the wait is a little long but that s because Dr.Heath takes the time to listen to the vets and not rush them out. She has a number that she has to see per hour but still will sit and listen to you. If you think you are having to wait a long time try going to a Dr office outside of the VA. I have 0 complaints and get good care there.

Great place to get help when you need it the most but there is miscommunication for patients due to not knowing and understanding on my part but Mrs. Tayler took time to sit down and explain everything to me her and her crew are amazing. But the bad is they are truly under staffed the people there don't get a brake but they push through and put every patient before themselves In my opinion I don't know what they make but every single staff there deserves a pay raise. Thank all y'all for everything y'all have done for me.

Erlanger is great for kids with autism and mental health problems. They were kind and helpful! They gave me more information about my son and his behavior in one phone call than another inpatient treatment center did in a month! Most of the staff were professional and obviously cared about their clients. They get 4 stars because there were some communication challenges they need to work on. My son is healing.

I am giving 5 stars for the brief encounter that I had with staff here as I dropped off a mental health consumer. I cannot express how grateful I am for their help, and how impressed I was by several of the staff members who shared their genuine concern and care for the patient I dropped off. I was about to leave and not drop the patient off, when they attempted to speak with my patient one on one. They made an instant connection as they began to ask questions and surprisingly got answers from the patient. They showed empathy. I cannot speak as to all of their services, but I do know they have some excellent workers here with genuine care. Based on what I saw at the Shallowford Rd location, I would choose this place over some other ones in Chattanooga.
