Mental patients are NOT always easy to deal with and can have very traumatic life stories that can effect a worker in unplanned ways. That being said, this staff makes the best of what and who they have, and the staff they have actually care about their patients and treat them all like humans, allowing all to be heard and seen. They have the best system for the space that they have and treat everyone fairly. No matter how much you may want to, please do not hug the staff. Haha. They are that phenomenal of human beings. 10/10 ALL THE WAY! Disclaimer for those suffering from HPPD: This facility may not be the best for treating this disorder quite yet. My case has had years to become mild enough to be treated with one self-recommended medication which the doctor did prescribe after listening. However, blanket psych medications may be prescribed because lack of knowledge and research on this particular affliction. It is still a great place to collect your thoughts and get a game plan to help you in life. The staff will give you dozens of resources to walk out the door with when you are discharged and treat you like a human the entire way. Love runs deep in Peninsula. Smell my finger 1 month ago I was admitted here, an spent 5 days the staff was great all very nice some way nicer than others and one I really really disliked a lot he is the sole reason this gets 4 star instead of 5 stars.now the patients I was with where all very nice caring and giving. Tiffany is one of the most caring people I've met and when you leave she makes sure we're all okay and she truly cares about whether we are all okay. I personally had to go twice this year and the second time I was in crisis I called Tiffany and she got me in that day and I will always be thankful for her for that and to everyone who works there, they all get it they've all been in our shoes even the therapist. The therapist Jackie, Tiffany, Kevin and Karen those guys will definitely go far and beyond for anyone they sure did for me. Two of the tenets Don and Pree are awesome they will go far and beyond for you also they definitely did for me. I will never forget my experience there it’s been very helpful it pulled me out of a very confusing and dark place. So I want to thank each and everyone of them for saving me. I brought my son to Smoky Mountain Lodge from Texas, with very few options and little understanding of what to expect. Although our journey had its challenges and wasn't always a smooth ride, my son came out of the experience in a better place, with greater clarity and a healthier outlook. The staff at Smoky Mountain Lodge genuinely care about their patients, and that made a difference to our family. They also offer a wonderful family support group that provides guidance, encouragement, and a place to ask questions during what can be an incredibly overwhelming and emotional time. Having that support helped us navigate the unknown and better understand how to support our son. My biggest concern was communication. At times, responses were slower than I would have liked, which was difficult as a parent so far away from my child. However, I also recognize that the staff are caring for many patients and have a tremendous responsibility. Whenever I was able to connect with a staff member, they were courteous, compassionate, and genuinely tried to answer my questions and provide the information I needed. One important piece of advice for other parents: Make sure you have the appropriate Releases of Information (ROIs) completed and in place as early as possible. These are essential for allowing staff to communicate with you about your loved one and provide updates, within the scope of the authorizations. Overall, I am grateful for the care my son received and for the support our family was given during such a difficult chapter of our lives. If you are a parent facing this unfamiliar and often frightening journey, know that you are not alone. Then once my insurance was ready, they paid for my full stay , it’s now been over eight months of calling and emailing and everything else I can do. I still haven’t been refunded for the cash I paid out of pocket , even though KRC was paid fully by my insurance. I couldn’t pay for almost 60 days. They helped me get insurance for 8$ a month that pays for my medicine and better yet allows me to get medical treatment like I would on tenncare. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND. My counselor’s name was Sofia. She worked with me several times a week for a little over a month. She’s by far the best counselor I’ve ever had. She helped me work past my mother’s death and help me get to the route of my addiction issues. The staff here genuinely cares about you. They will go above and beyond. Sofia fought so hard for me in every situation, she never gave up on me. I’ve never had someone in my corner so much that wanted me to succeed in every way. Tracy my favorite tech still checks on me to this day. The facility is brand new, clean, and very nice. If you truly want to get better, this is the place to go. Seeing the friendly security guy (my personal favorite) to seeing the beautiful women at front, sorry forgot their names but those women especially the light skin one is so SWEET. My care broke down and one of the workers offered to jump my car. They have been so good to me. Their job is hard. I came in the first day angry and agitated and wanted a fix. They worked with me. Put me in top of the queue and gave me water to calm me down. The woman usually in room 1 with the glasses and brown hair I feel like is my FRIEND.
