The Haven Detox is truly an incredible place to go when seeking sobriety. Addiction is not an easy thing to overcome and even harder when you try to do it alone. Here at The Haven Detox the staff takes incredible care of you and genuinely wants you to get better. If you ever have questions or need to speak with someone who truly cares, I highly recommend asking for Marcus. He has been an absolute rock for my family and a source of strength and reassurance during a very difficult time.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the facility in Green Valley, Arizona. From day one, every single person I encountered was incredibly professional, compassionate, and genuinely invested in my well-being. I never once felt like “just another patient” — I felt supported and truly cared for every step of the way.
A huge thank you to Marcus and his incredible BHT team. They went above and beyond and played a major role in helping me rediscover purpose, confidence, and hope. Their dedication, encouragement, and genuine care made a huge impact.
What truly sets this facility apart is the aftercare program (PHP/IOP). That continued level of support was absolutely invaluable and is a big reason why I am the person I am today.
From the bottom of my heart, my family and I are forever grateful to everyone at this facility. You are truly second to none, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for real help and real transformation.
Thank you for giving me my life back.

Dear Friends at The Arc,
I am writing this letter to express my deepest and sincerest gratitude for the life you have given back to me.
When I was facing a potential prison sentence of 16.5 years, your organization stepped in. Your team’s tireless advocacy and commitment to my case were instrumental, and I will never forget your work in the courtroom.
Because of your efforts, I was able to walk away with a sentence of five years probation. This outcome was nothing short of a miracle for me.
Today, my life is full of promises and great gifts. I wake up every day with a profound sense of hope and opportunity that I would not have without your intervention.
The Arc is more than just an organization; it is a place of love, care, and true consideration for those who are most in need. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me my life back.
Sincerely,
Joaquin

Tucson, AZ | The Tucson VA Medical Center operates under the greater Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System located in Tucson, Arizona. This is a full service medical center that offers round the clock care to veterans and their families. If you’re struggling with a substance abuse disorder or have a co-occurring mental health condition, you’ll find | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My VA Doctor Actually Knows My Name. Thank you, Dr. Helene Rhodes Kramer!
Living with rheumatoid arthritis is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. It's a brutally painful, isolating, and exhausting disease. What makes it bearable is having a VA doctor who truly knows me — not just my chart, but my name.
Dr. Helene Rhodes Kramer, Rheumatologist at the Tucson VA specialty clinics, is that doctor.
Recently, my pain got so bad that I went to the local VA emergency room for relief and completely forgot I had a scheduled tele-health visit with her. While I was in the ER receiving 1,000 mg of steroids shot to calm the inflammation, Dr. Kramer called because I hadn't logged into our video appointment. When she learned I was in the ER, she spoke directly with the emergency room team about my RA and my treatment.
I was so proud and grateful in that moment because it proved she knows my name and my story, and that she actively defends my care. That kind of attention and coordination doesn't just feel good emotionally — it improves my overall well-being and my medical outcomes. It's the difference between feeling like "just another patient" and feeling truly seen.
Dr. Kramer is my VA doctor because she knows who I am. That means everything when you're living with a chronic, painful disease.
Thank you, Dr. Kramer, and thank you, Tucson VA, for your care and service.

Miracle workers. I can't stress this enough. Teen Challenge has proven to be a literal life saver. We had a family member who tried several other programs and none of them were successful (some were horrible disasters and did more damage than good). This program is strongly faith-based and provides the essential structure and stability for someone who is struggling or giving up. We have seen a tremendous change to our family member, and would recommend to anyone seeking help. My son left our home in Feb, 2020, and flew from NJ to CA to attend a residential treatment facility. He was struggling with substance abuse (addicted to marijuana), depression, anxiety, and some suicide ideation. He was 17 years old. After a few weeks at the residential treatment facility, it was recommended that he attend a longer, therapeutic boarding school because returning home to the same environment was not going to work! After a lot of research on my own, talking to various programs,
and parents of kids who were at various programs, I spoke to Patrick Barrasso from In Balance Ranch Academy. He convinced my husband and I that this was the place for our son. So shortly thereafter, our son was transported to the ranch. Although it was very hard at first....in terms of a new location, climate, school, people, program, etc. our son slowly began to adjust and grow. He worked with an incredible therapist weekly doing individual, family and group sessions. He also worked with other therapists in groups and participated in equine therapy (our son told us he hated horses when he first arrived......and by about 3 months in, he begged us for extra equine therapy sessions!). The school program helped our son stay current with his classes, he was able to work out daily, play basketball, go on outings, trips, attend meetings, and make lifelong friends. But most importantly, our son learned to accept himself again, his self confidence reappeared, and he started to rebuild his life. He has carried the tools he learned at In Balance with him and is currently waiting to hear back from colleges to attend in the fall. He still talks to his therapist from In Balance weekly, speaks/texts his friends from the ranch everyday, and wants to go back to work at the ranch this Summer. I can not speak highly about the staff at In Balance, the Barrasso family and their commitment to excellence, and the education/support our family received while our son's life was saved.
