It is a "country" type setting which people from northern states would definitely enjoy. Nature abounds. It is more like a "retreat", rather than just a rehab. Sabal Palms has nice paths around the property, a resort style pool, as well as a tennis court which is also used for half court basketball games. Most importantly, it is a small "retreat" with 20 to 30 clients. All of the patients attend the same group classes. So, you will quickly get to know your classmates. Better yet, all of the staff from the Administrator, Nurses, BHA techs to the Housekeeping and Dining Room staff remember your name. The cooks know what I prefer to drink (green sodas) and what I may not particularly enjoy (sweet potatoes). The food is wonderful! Stephanie's pancakes and French toast are a great way to start the day. Dinner is even better! If you aren't particularly fond of what is being served, you can request something else from a limited menu. I love the egg salad sandwich and the grilled ham and cheese. But, with the menu items you can't go wrong. What impressed me most was the Therapists. As mentioned, it is a small community where everyone knows your name. I learned a lot about myself and addiction in all of the counselors classes/groups. Thanks Nicole, Mackenzie, Bruce, Jelani and Anaiha. I'm also grateful for the nightly AA meetings chaired by local residents who come to lead the meetings. I highly recommend Sabal Palms Recovery Center. It is a great choice for Floridians and an even better "retreat" for out of state folks looking for a tranquil place to better themselves. One piece of advice, bring a few sweatshirts and sweatpants. It does get chilly in sunny Florida! Good Luck in your recovery wherever you choose to go. Sabal Palms should definitely be on your short list. The blessing in disguise was the court ordered treatement. I went 12 weeks to group thearpy at Perspectives. I was reluctant and not excited about going until I got there. All of us were in the same boat....nervous, shamed, scared about facing the consequences of our poor decisions. Perspectives group sessions were awesome and extremely helpful. They gave you practical suggestions to help with your addictions and how to deal with the pain you caused others and yourself. The staff that ran these sessions were incredible mainly because they truly cared! It was not a job to them but they had compassion for what your were going through in fact most of them faced similiar situations. I "had" to go to these treatments but would easily have volunterred to go after seeing what they had to offer. Great discussions with a staff that emplified compassion to every one in the class. When you know you messed up and are already down on yourself it is comforting to know folks at Perspectives 2 was there to listen, suggest and most of all show they really cared about your well being and getting you on the right track. They're local to the area, An yes a smaller office but don't lack in the resources to help you and the actual drive to do so! The staff was incredible and the patience they have is something to be commended. I met many people from all walks of life during my stay. The facility was clean, well maintained and organized. I personally found the group activities to be most therapeutic and for anyone who may find themselves there for whatever reason or reasons my advice is to attend the group meetings even if you have to force yourself. The staff during my stay was professional and courteous. They seemed overwhelmed at times but that happens with how many chaotic eruptions outside of their control occur. A lot of people in the mental healthcare system do not understand what it is to be a black man with a mental health condition in this community and I specifically asked for a Doctor Who would understand him, but not take any bullshit and they gave me the utmost perfect doctor ever if you are looking for a real human being who cares enough to listen and figure out the real problem and who actually is so professional at his job professional professionalism is an understatement for him he’s exquisite go see Dr. Sam they take Medicaid insurance and I didn’t know that he would understand my husband as well as he did, but I asked specifically for an African-American male doctor and if that is what you’re looking for who has amazing taste and professionalism. This is your guy like you don’t need to go anywhere else ever again this person cares enough to help my family we are a family of five. My husband is our soul Provider. Our kids are disabled and I homeschool it is a lot on my shoulders to have to deal with my disabled kids and my husband‘s mental health condition and he just took almost all the weight off of them. Going there and being traumatized by outside family members while I was suppose to be healing made the experience even more difficult. My complaints about The Refuge relate to employees clearly not train to care for patients struggling with disorders in mental health. I had a cardiac episode that was barely addressed and if I was lucky, I could see a medical provider once a week even though I understand vitals and voiced for 2 weeks something was wrong. The nurses held an "I know more than you mentality" despite me treating them with patience and respect and having experience in the medical field. The only reason I am giving this place 5 stars is because the therapist themselves and the CEO took my concerns seriously and genuinely cared about healing those who took the program seriously. It kind of seemed like each therapist held a specific personality so clients could learn to both tolerate different personality types, and not let those personalities that they were not compatible with cause them to spiral. Don't get me wrong, there were some therapists and staff members I dreaded dealing with. I quickly realized that if I wanted the program to work and chose to make the sacrifice of prioritizing my healing process. I faced the struggles of being away from my children and having attacks from my closest relatives attempting to sabotage my treatment. The clients there provided support and understanding in a safe environment where I likely would have given up if I wasn't there. I quickly realized that respect towards the staff and accountability to use the tools taught to me was the only way to heal. Sitting around complaining like other clients and expecting to be catered to by complaining about the services would get you no where. I reached a limit with my own therapist but when I started unwrapping buried memories from my childhood, my safe person became Shelley (clinical director) and Stephanie (CEO). You can tell Shelley lives for helping those struggling and Stephanie set the example of leadership that is rare to find these days. Her undercover boss personality to correct the wrongs/complaints about The Refuge often left me wondering when this woman ever went home. The only complaint I submitted pertained to a case manager and Stephanie was immediately on it, as was Shelley. Both made me feel heard when I previously had the habit of shutting down. I left The Refuge feeling like I was worthy of love and being able to love myself. Where I previously protected others, I gained the confidence and tools to protect myself. I never knew trauma was something that could be worked through. I'd always thought it was something I had to carry my whole life and learn to live with. Every business in the world has it's flaws but if you apply yourself while waiting for answers or assistance from therapist and staff members juggling a number of patients, you will progress and leave with something. I left stronger and feeling like a leader. I learned to never judge anyone and even people with a record or past deserve love and grace. People there are seeking help to change and not repeat patterns and I give the utmost respect. Thank you to The Refuge, Stephanie, and Shelley (honorable mention to Jana and Bonnie (who left to chase her dreams)) for restoring my faith in humanity. I am beyond grateful for the staff here. Every clinic is amazing from Phlebotomy, Radiology, Ultrasound imaging, Cardiology, etc, and especially my PCM. I cant give away her name because yall might squeeze in her already tight schedule. (Hint 5' tall Boricua) Everyone's always welcoming, friendly, and I feel like they genuinely care about my health, which is great because I banged up my body and mental health for almost 2.4 decades in the military. Its all good though...it was a great honor to serve overseas in extreme hostile arena. Anyways, I've been to several VA clinics in Florida and Oregon and the Villages VA Clinic is the best!!

I highly recommend the Sabal Palms Recovery Center. It has exceeded my expectations. Sabal Palms is located in Brooksville, Florida. It is a "country" type setting which people from northern states would definitely enjoy. Nature abounds. It is more like a "retreat", rather than just a rehab. Sabal Palms has nice paths around the property, a resort style pool, as well as a tennis court which is also used for half court basketball games. Most importantly, it is a small "retreat" with 20 to 30 clients. All of the patients attend the same group classes. So, you will quickly get to know your classmates. Better yet, all of the staff from the Administrator, Nurses, BHA techs to the Housekeeping and Dining Room staff remember your name. The cooks know what I prefer to drink (green sodas) and what I may not particularly enjoy (sweet potatoes). The food is wonderful! Stephanie's pancakes and French toast are a great way to start the day. Dinner is even better! If you aren't particularly fond of what is being served, you can request something else from a limited menu. I love the egg salad sandwich and the grilled ham and cheese. But, with the menu items you can't go wrong. What impressed me most was the Therapists. As mentioned, it is a small community where everyone knows your name. I learned a lot about myself and addiction in all of the counselors classes/groups. Thanks Nicole, Mackenzie, Bruce, Jelani and Anaiha. I'm also grateful for the nightly AA meetings chaired by local residents who come to lead the meetings. I highly recommend Sabal Palms Recovery Center. It is a great choice for Floridians and an even better "retreat" for out of state folks looking for a tranquil place to better themselves. One piece of advice, bring a few sweatshirts and sweatpants. 2023 is gone! And now I can go into 2024 with a new attitude and a new life mostly thankful for Perspectives 2. I made some dumb decisions last year that I ended up paying the price for. I consider myself smart and well educated but when alcohol does your thinking its a games changer. I ended up in jail with a DUI and court ordered treatment. The blessing in disguise was the court ordered treatement. I went 12 weeks to group thearpy at Perspectives. I was reluctant and not excited about going until I got there. All of us were in the same boat....nervous, shamed, scared about facing the consequences of our poor decisions. Perspectives group sessions were awesome and extremely helpful. They gave you practical suggestions to help with your addictions and how to deal with the pain you caused others and yourself. The staff that ran these sessions were incredible mainly because they truly cared! It was not a job to them but they had compassion for what your were going through in fact most of them faced similiar situations. I "had" to go to these treatments but would easily have volunterred to go after seeing what they had to offer. Great discussions with a staff that emplified compassion to every one in the class. When you know you messed up and are already down on yourself it is comforting to know folks at Perspectives 2 was there to listen, suggest and most of all show they really cared about your well being and getting you on the right track. They continue to follow up with me a year later! Jamie is awesome in her care and concern....Kudos to her and her staff. Thank you Perspectives 2 for showing honest concern and compassion!

This place is wonderful, they were treating pregnant woman back 2015 when myself an others felt we had no hope, NO ONE would touch us. They live & breathe recovery. They're local to the area, An yes a smaller office but don't lack in the resources to help you and the actual drive to do so! An if Dr.Logan doesn't have a book out by now...he should consider doing so! He's one of the most knowledgeable in the state regarding M.A.T-Outpatient Treatment. They accept most insurances (yes, including Medicaid) So don't wait till tmro (again) like I did. Call them!

I was one of the 1st set of girls from Rhode Island. I graduated camp in 1984. One of the best counselors was Pam. The program changed me for the good. I remember meeting the Eckerd's at their beach house. Also they had made a commercial and filmed my group and I. So many canoe, hiking trips.. memories lasting a lifetime. The Vines Hospital experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The staff was incredible and the patience they have is something to be commended. I met many people from all walks of life during my stay. The facility was clean, well maintained and organized. I personally found the group activities to be most therapeutic and for anyone who may find themselves there for whatever reason or reasons my advice is to attend the group meetings even if you have to force yourself. The staff is good at what they do. If you want to be mentally healthy and more emotionally stable this is a wonderful place to begin that journey.

When it comes to negative reviews on this facility, you must take into account the clientele and their state of mind. The staff during my stay was professional and courteous. They seemed overwhelmed at times but that happens with how many chaotic eruptions outside of their control occur. The staff handled moments like that with ease and professionalism. They monitor interpersonal relationships well and separate patients preemptively when needed. I'm horrible with names but the driver Ernie who took me home provided deep and insightful conversation to really tie the whole experience together.

So finding a doctor has been the biggest hurdle my family’s gone through having my medicine on time losing jobs because of not having my medicine I’ve been scheduled effective since I was 18 and I’ve never found a Doctor Who understood me more. Go see Dr. Sam he’s literally the most caring man who really heard me out and listened for the first time ever.

So I called last week to get an appointment with a Doctor Who would be a person who understood my husband. My husband has skiff affective disorder and he is 6 foot nine and he is a mixed black and white man. A lot of people in the mental healthcare system do not understand what it is to be a black man with a mental health condition in this community and I specifically asked for a Doctor Who would understand him, but not take any bullshit and they gave me the utmost perfect doctor ever if you are looking for a real human being who cares enough to listen and figure out the real problem and who actually is so professional at his job professional professionalism is an understatement for him he’s exquisite go see Dr. Sam they take Medicaid insurance and I didn’t know that he would understand my husband as well as he did, but I asked specifically for an African-American male doctor and if that is what you’re looking for who has amazing taste and professionalism. This is your guy like you don’t need to go anywhere else ever again this person cares enough to help my family we are a family of five. My husband is our soul Provider. Our kids are disabled and I homeschool it is a lot on my shoulders to have to deal with my disabled kids and my husband‘s mental health condition and he just took almost all the weight off of them. I’m so happy that I found this doctors office.

My experience at Umatilla TRV was mixed, but one person who genuinely stood out to me was Chris Fields, the Financial Manager. Chris was one of the best advocates for clients that I encountered. He was patient, understanding, and willing to actually listen and help when I had concerns. He made an effort to explain things clearly and treated me with respect, which made a real difference during a difficult time. I truly appreciate the way Chris advocates for clients and goes beyond simply doing his job. His compassion, professionalism, and willingness to help definitely deserve recognition. Overall, I’m giving my experience 4.5 stars, with Chris being a major reason for that rating.

I love Harmony Hills. If you are looking for a place to get fully recovered and finally be free of your addictions and mental health issues, you are looking in the right direction and there is hope for you. The teachers are amazing here and will teach you so much if you’re open and honest with your true self and ready and willing to hear. Your recovery depends on you here but Harmony Hills gives you the tools you need to thrive and get better. There is opportunity here if you’ll take it. It’s not luxury but the view is beautiful and everyone is so nice and welcoming always and it makes up for it. Here they realIy treat you like family. If you ever are ready to get off the drugs you are on, this is the place that will help you get it done. They truly do care and are really trying to help you. Best thing that has happened to me in about 10 years. If you're really ready to get help this is the place to get it. But only if you're ready. Don't waste their time or money. Because if you're not ready I'm sure there's someone else out there who is. So don't take that spot up if you're not serious and ready. Because someone else needs it. Fairly new facility and they have just about all equipment that a hospital has. Nice and clean place. The canteen has been opened for 2-3 months now and has good tasting food at great prices. This facility is for veterans only. I like my doctors there.

This place has helped me in ways I will forever be thankful for. Anytime I call the women at the front desk answer promptly and are incredibly helpful. They are just as nice and helpful in person as well. The security guard always has a smile on his face and definitely brings a strong sense of safety in the building. Latiere Wallace is a smart caring kind woman who listens and offers multiple possible solutions. She never tries to rush me out of her office and she always makes me feel valid and understood. I really appreciate her and everyone else here. Schena in the pharmacy is another incredibly kind woman who gives courtesy calls when I am due for a refill on my prescription. Very low cost professional mental help. You get what you give of this place and as long as you are respectful to the staff they are the kindest most compassionate group of people. Sometimes the lobby can be a bit rowdy but it’s important to keep in mind everyone is either there for help or there to help. Thank you Baycare.

Getting treatment for PTSD and Trauma is hard to admit to. Going there and being traumatized by outside family members while I was suppose to be healing made the experience even more difficult. My complaints about The Refuge relate to employees clearly not train to care for patients struggling with disorders in mental health. I had a cardiac episode that was barely addressed and if I was lucky, I could see a medical provider once a week even though I understand vitals and voiced for 2 weeks something was wrong. The nurses held an "I know more than you mentality" despite me treating them with patience and respect and having experience in the medical field. The only reason I am giving this place 5 stars is because the therapist themselves and the CEO took my concerns seriously and genuinely cared about healing those who took the program seriously. It kind of seemed like each therapist held a specific personality so clients could learn to both tolerate different personality types, and not let those personalities that they were not compatible with cause them to spiral. Don't get me wrong, there were some therapists and staff members I dreaded dealing with. I quickly realized that if I wanted the program to work and chose to make the sacrifice of prioritizing my healing process. I faced the struggles of being away from my children and having attacks from my closest relatives attempting to sabotage my treatment. The clients there provided support and understanding in a safe environment where I likely would have given up if I wasn't there. I quickly realized that respect towards the staff and accountability to use the tools taught to me was the only way to heal. Sitting around complaining like other clients and expecting to be catered to by complaining about the services would get you no where. I reached a limit with my own therapist but when I started unwrapping buried memories from my childhood, my safe person became Shelley (clinical director) and Stephanie (CEO). You can tell Shelley lives for helping those struggling and Stephanie set the example of leadership that is rare to find these days. Her undercover boss personality to correct the wrongs/complaints about The Refuge often left me wondering when this woman ever went home. The only complaint I submitted pertained to a case manager and Stephanie was immediately on it, as was Shelley. Both made me feel heard when I previously had the habit of shutting down. I left The Refuge feeling like I was worthy of love and being able to love myself. Where I previously protected others, I gained the confidence and tools to protect myself. I never knew trauma was something that could be worked through. I'd always thought it was something I had to carry my whole life and learn to live with. Every business in the world has it's flaws but if you apply yourself while waiting for answers or assistance from therapist and staff members juggling a number of patients, you will progress and leave with something. I left stronger and feeling like a leader. I learned to never judge anyone and even people with a record or past deserve love and grace. People there are seeking help to change and not repeat patterns and I give the utmost respect. Thank you to The Refuge, Stephanie, and Shelley (honorable mention to Jana and Bonnie (who left to chase her dreams)) for restoring my faith in humanity.

I devoted to eating a healthy diet and started lifting weights again. I've lost 60 lbs and still lift, walk/jog and now I'm walking with a 30 lb rucking backpack. I've been more engaged with my 3 kids and web we've done some really tough hikes. I still have to rise from the ashes because I'm dealing with stuff at home. I'm a hundred and thirty one days sober.
