And a fantastic staff, specifically Rachel, Bradley, Courtney, Lindsey and Rose Jack Hancher 3 weeks ago As a recent graduate of Hope Harbor, I can attest to the high quality of recovery and therapeutic services offered for both mental illness and substance abuse. My 35 days in the PHP program was the greatest gift I could have ever been given. The staff at HHW truly cares about the clients and their well-being. They will bend over backwards to help them and ensure that they each receive the highest level of care and support. The extra therapeutic services that they offer, including Biosound Therapy, redlight therapy, and TMS take a more holistic approach to recovery that makes a huge difference. My therapist, Angela, was a wonderful asset and advocate. Rachel is a ray of sunshine and runs a tight ship, keeping the techs working diligently to support the clients at clinical and in the residences. My time at HHW was truly transformative and I cannot recommend them enough! Chasity is the most amazing person to share your recovery with, attent groups with, along with being an over and above achiever case manager. i geniuely do no know If i could've gotten through my recovery without her support! shes an angel sent from God. She a hard worker and over achiever and very dedicated to her job. a big shout out to the BHT director Rachel along with BHT staff courtney Nathan and autumn. They all hold a special place in my heart and played a great role in my recovery as well. as far as the program goes it's a residental 30 day program that is very homey very welcoming non judgement place every staff has a story to tell/share and they do not even realize that their stories they share can give clients inspiration motivation and let's you know their is still hope and it's will can be done. i recommend this place to anyone wanting and willing the help. Also, if you do not have transportation do not worry, just make the call allow your call to be ypur first step. they accept insurance, and they will come get you. They personally came and got me from jail, i know they have drove to kentucky and many many more places to go and pick up clients who are wanting to come to the program. If you do their php program they will even take you to and from work instead of making you defend for your ownself like most places. they even over transportation to and from AA/NA/CR meetings if your interested in going to them. They helped me with my detox, and was treated with proper health concerns and the medicine with therapy sessions and group session was very helpful working at a pace of my own cool calm collective experience from staff. Case manager Chascidy was a great help and motivating case manager thanks for being patient with me. JOSH is a cool director and overall great techs and nurses 24/7 safe and caring staff overall. I was tired and beaten down but hopeful to find the perfect fit, and boy did I find it! Firstly, it is staffed with the most knowledgeable and compassionate people an institution of this nature could provide. The staff was warm and inviting on day one; a day that a very anxious young person needed this type of reception. While I wasn’t privy to the treatment provided, not hearing one complaint says a lot! In fact, I only heard positive things and saw excitement, which to me equates to trust and commitment to treatment. I don’t know how they do it but they are very successful in what they do. I was an inpatient, then I transitioned to their day program. The inpatient program was a solid 9/10. The food was good, most of the staff were good. There were a few staff members who went above and beyond to be kind. When I was younger and different than how I am now, I went to several facilities overall. The staff at most of those other facilities were burnt out, negative, and clearly didnt like their job. The staff at Hillside were more positive. Hillside had some good food. I'm not sure why there are reviews saying the food was bad. It was warm, balanced, and they had chocolate milk. They have some sort of a vegetarian option too. There were activities that were done outside. That is a huge deal. In the 3 other non-acute inpatient facilities I've been to, 2 of them had a small outside area encircled within the building where we were allowed to stay during a decent period of time once per day. The 1 other facility had a large outside area also encircled within the building, and we were allowed to be there a decent amount of time as well. But while being inside Hillsides inpatient program, we got to be outside MANY times a day. And the outside area is outside of the 'cabin'. Meaning I could actually see a long distance outside and walk(under supervision) around area more than 40x40ft without meeting a wall. Hillside doesn't have that boxed in feeling. The sweet gardening lady made us icedtea, and I got to pick flowers and actually be outside in a space that wasnt boxed in . Also, Hillside has the least amount of fighting and dangerous bahavior amoung my past peers that I've seen. Fights started at all of the other inpatient non-acute facilities, and there was a lot more yelling and screaming in those places. Though most of those places had a lot more patients in one room. Overall, I'd consider Hillside to be a safer facility, with more supervision. Hillside, when I was a patient, alllowed in-person visits from family. Though I don't remember the details. No other place I have even been to had that privledge. Hillside also gave us access to VIDEO calls with family. NO other place I have ever been to has given me that privledge. It was corded phone calls only, and at least one of the places I previously went to didn't allow any sort of calls at all. Changing from inpatient to outpatient - The outpatient experience at Hillside was amazing. All the staff in the outpatient program were incredible kind, helpful, and understanding. It was a very calming environment. Overall, don't believe a lot of the reviews here. Serious Mental Health Treatment isn't going to feel happy or nice in the process. Hillside is a much better choice of inpatient treatment compared to anything else I have ever experienced.
