I'm an alcoholic, have been for years. I got treatment before I decided to give the Gateway, Iopc,a try. Im not religious and religion isnt pushed at GateWay Iopc, which is why i gave it a try. My Dr suggested it so I decided to do that treatment after my detox. Also my counselor Dan in the Joliet office is a great counselor. I, like most people are closed off when going thru this process. Eventually you will begin to open up when you see there is several other people dealing and going thru a similar situation as yourself. And believe me Im the most closed off person there is. You may not agree with all of it, as I didn't, but there are parts that's help. Everyone is dealing with something different and everyone is affected differently. Focus on yourself and don't let outside influences stop you from what you want.

It took a little over a week for them to first get in touch, but genuine apology was expressed and it seemed like unique circumstances.
The evaluation process with Shelley was along the lines of what I expected. Having given thorough histories for other reasons before, I did not find it to be overly invasive. Thorough, not overly time- consuming. Fact- focused, not judgmental.
At the end of the evaluation, I was told it may take a week to hear anything. It took longer, but I've my attorney reached out to remind Tools For Life, the response was prompt.
Can't give five stars yet because I am still waiting for the last phase of this process to be completed, but so far good people to work with.

Steve helped my daughter with the early intervention counseling program. He made the program relatable to her situation and really helped her understand the outside influences. She successfully completed the program and is still making the right choices and cutting people off that can effect her sobriety.

Thank goodness all the nurses left, now clients get to have their critical medical needs taken care of by well meaning, unqualified, underpaid, over worked home staff. Thanks AID for proving nursing school is a joke and that anyone can learn how to administer medication through an Instagram live video. I have even started to apply this logic to my own daily life and finally got my mail person to administer my enemas and suppositories after I forced them to watch a video of my neighbor doing theirs. Now I don't have to pay my physician to do that. So if you care about your family members but don't want your agency to spend too much money on things like ACTUAL NURSES or PROPER MEDICAL TRAINING, AID is the perfect place. It's refreshing to see a non profit so driven by finances and the bottom line instead of actual care and patient connections. I honestly think the more money you pay to trained medical staff leads to higher rates of medical issues. I looked at a highlighter and felt my blood sugar lower, thanks AID.

I am understanding a bit more context that they don't bring forth immediately, but it is something that I sense. The facility needs more funding so they can grow and provide better support for people. It's not the people that work at the facilities fault it really isn't but rather they really need funding. Please be patient with the staff and emphasize with them.
I implore people who attend there to be patient and understand their perspective They will not openly address it because of professional reasons... They are trying. Please be mindful of their needs as well. It's going to be difficult for everyone. 🖤

We had a very bad experience. We were admitted to the emergency room a few days ago, but once inside, the service was very slow and the explanations were very poor and confusing. Once we were transfered to a regular room, it was even worse. The nurses didn't even know who my mother's doctor was, and after 20 hours of waiting, they examined my mother and said they didn't understand why she had been admitted, that she didn't have anything serious, and that no one had ever assigned a doctor to her.

John is a great counselor. He listens and is non judgemental. He shows empathy when warranted. The class felt comfortable talking to him and the class. I really appreciated that the class was a zoom meeting. John punctual and starts the class exactly on time. I thought I would dread taking the classes but it ended up not being the case. I want everyone to know I put a review up 5 months ago about Sterling apartments and the truth is I didn't think about what I was saying and how it was going to hurt someone's feelings because my mind was stuck in my emotions which does not excuse the review I left. The supervisor and all of the staff that works at Sterling Apartments are good people and care a lot so this means a lesson for me don't judge a book by its cover without getting to know the person. I attend here, and I can say this is the best place ever, they helped me to get sober. I love how I get to work the whole program step by step and in fellowship with the other people. It's a supportive community where everyone is welcomed.
