My care plan was explained to me daily, my medications, vitals, and treatments all done in a timely manner by staff who work long hours and still somehow remain upbeat and friendly. Didn't have to wait much at all, liked the nurses, doctors good, especially one on 4/4 emergency. He listened to me, he addressed an important issue and it was life-changing in a positive way. Every colonoscopy, excellent from start to finish. Involved with surgery services now (top quality staff!) appts in lab (excellent) & cardiology for EKG (friendly, efficient) - every single place I go I feel I'm well cared for by good professionals. I was on the second floor and The heat was difficult but the wonderful employees got me fans and helped me as I withdrew from medications. July 6th it was decided that I needed a pacemaker and I was taken to the Cath lab to be prepped. My heart had other ides and I went into VT and was successfully resuscitated by CPR and shock. Taken to ICU, I once again coded and was brought back. I’m grateful to nurses Joanne, Megan, Ken, Meg, Eryn and the other angels that were instrumental in saving my life. I was told it was Torsades de pointes, something rare. I hope they all know how much I appreciate their care. But I must absolutely shout out to Dr. Pourati and his team who carried me through with humor and compassion. John (who I called bumpers), Brian, who kept me calm throughout, Kevin and his banter, and Heather at my left shoulder reassuring me that all would be well. And of course my cardiologist, Issac Pourati. He is my hero. I’m sure there are others that were involved and to all of you, thank you for your dedication and professionalism. I was always treated with respect and made to feel safe. AJH is extremely fortunate to have all of you as employees. I’m at rehab now and feeling good. I'm actually creating an updated resource sheet, which is why I ended up on here haha. But I figured while Im here, I should post a review about my own experience. I went to Granite House back around 2020. My experience was great, I definitely had some ups and downs however the downs were 100% self induced. Although the staff and the group of people I was within were all incredible- I just wasn't ready yet at that time. I went to about half a dozen treatment programs throughout my addiction, but to this day I tell people "if you have medicaid and you're looking to go to rehab in NH - Granite House the best place to go." It is my first choice for referral out of all the treatment centers in the state! Its obviously been a while since I was there, 7 years or so, but I have had clients tell me about their recent experiences and they all say the same thing " Its like a big family. " I couldn't agree more! Thank you Granite House for your continued dedication to those who are in need of a safe, caring and trustworthy treatment center during their most vulnerable days. New Hampshire has lost a lot of good, helpful, and solid places over the past several years but to see you still standing and providing people with treatment is truly deeply appreciated!!! * If you're reading this - and are trying to figure out if this is the right choice... as someone who statistically was not supposed to and never should have made it out... my advice is ; Ask yourself what do you have to loose by trying? Damien 2 months ago When I decided that 48 years was enough of living in a bottle and a spoon, I began to research what exactly I needed to do to get to a stage where I could put my life on hold, hire enough of the right people to handle my affairs while I was away. After accomplishing that, I boarded a plane to Boston 04-19-26 and arrived at Hillside detox and recovery program safely where I was treated like royalty. After 30 days, they convinced me to further my experience, knowledge, and skills for a successful life of soberiety by going to Woburn Wellness. Honestly, it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. At Woburn, I attended the daily groups. At first I didn't understand how the groups could possibly help me go home to a wife that drinks, and remain sober. But the longer I not only attended, but actively participate in the program, the stronger I felt about my soberiety. I was also blessed to stay at the Sober House in Stoneham. The accommodations at these 2 blessings were nothing like the 10 star treatment I got used to at Hillside. But they were perfect for this stage in my journey because they were realistic for life in the real world. [ ] Jasmine was my go to for everything. She treated me like royalty. I'm not going to try and play favoritism with the staff at Woburn Wellness because they all are my favorites. I love and miss each of them. From Ray the Driver, for always getting me to put on my positive attitude, every morning, to Violet who made sure my meds were filled, to Jaun, my Rockstar, Sean, the Big dog who was also full of wisdom (and a little bit of bs.🤣). My Southern Belle, Laura, who is my Clinician, (she is vital to my soberiety by keeping me thinking, and giving me ideas, even now that I'm home). Caroline who always is high on happy pills, and we have a bonded agreement that we shook on, and It's something that I take very serious, and very rarely offer it, is special in her own ways. Noah is a beast, but a gentle giant that best not get anymore bad haircuts. Zhenya is the sweetest lady until you merge into a subject she doesn't approve of. But even her reprimands are done gently yet stern. I could go on praising the staff but I would be remiss if I don't talk about the group. Obviously I can't mention names or discussions we had. But I consider each one of them extremely lucky to be part of Woburn, especially myself. The staff and group members will always hold a very special place in my heart. [ ] Should I relapse, it would be solely for the purpose of going back to Hillside, then Woburn and the sober house, to spend time with my extended family. When I expressed that, it became an issue, so I chose to leave.. leaving was difficulty the other facility made me walk miles and miles before allowing myself a cell phone and left my stranded in the middle of nowhere. I got the courage after leaving to find another facility and CHOOSE NOT TO GO BACK TO THE LIFESTYLE I ONCE HAD. Finding Mayflower made all the difference. I appreciated that they allowed a more balanced, normal routine outside of meetings—you could relax, watch TV, do crafts, play basketball, and still focus on recovery. They also offered a different approach to sobriety that felt more supportive and personalized. What really stood out was the medical staff—they were always there when I needed them and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. This was my first time getting sober, and I’ve stayed sober ever since because of this place.. great food as well. I’m so thankful for this place because without them I don’t know where I would be today. If one place isn’t a fit for you in recovery please find the next place and do not give up! But your not gonna play with me like that or in any fashion. So better things escalate. I just walk out. Every councilor here is great, and after a few months out of the program I still visit and keep in touch with them. Unfortunately this wasn't my first go around in a recovery center but it hands down is the best, and definitely the only one whos treatment seems to have finally stuck with me. It's a 12-step based program but they dont force anything. however, through the councilor's own experiences and seeing your rehab mates who DO do the steps you'll be shown just how much it works. Staff was super flexible with my schedule, knowledgeable, and unlike many treatment centers, actually fun to be around. Hopefully you dont need rehab but if you do, come here. I liked the groups as well, and I never forgot the concept of the Drama Triangle that I learned in one group. Being here helped me get back into drawing as well. While this was one of my more challenging time periods, I gained a lot and appreciate everything the staff has done to support me. There is no quick or painless way to get clean so it's going to be a miserable time but so worth it. I loved the staff, liked the food. There was a woman cook/chef idk but she was dynamite! Especially with what they have to work with. Speaking of, the staff has us to work with. Miserable,suicidal,mental cases! Not the most pleasant people at times. I believe the neg. ratings are from the younger people possibly spoiled? Who knows. IF YOU SERIOUSLY WANT TO GET CLEAN THIS PLACE IS A GREAT START! GET THE FURTHER TREATMENT! Michael Davis 4 years ago Centerpoint changed our lives for the better! Our families experience at Centerpoint was nothing but positive. We were referred to Centerpoint by the Department of Mental Health after 18 ART/CBAT admissions. I have to admit at first I was hesitant as the program is long term and, no one wants their child away from home for that long. After much deliberation and thought we agreed to the admission. It’s not easy to agree to this level of care, often times heart breaking but, we knew our son was suffering and no other treatment seemed to be effective for longer than a few months. It’s hard work and you are asked to participate in weekly family therapy where you have to be open and honest and tackle all of the issue which lead to this level of care. My son, my husband and I committed ourselves to this and boy did it work. It wasn’t easy, it was emotionally challenging and having to drag up things from the past was less than desirable. We learned how to effectively communicate with each other which was the foundation of our son getting better. If you and your child embrace the program it works! The staff was always very accommodating, kind, caring and well trained. You can tell that they are experts in their field. Each child is different and they made it their mission to learn our sons behaviors and personality so they could make him feel comfortable, safe and that he could trust them. Since discharge our son has thrived socially, emotionally and academically. He has learned to use the skills that were taught at Centerpoint which has effectively ended the vicious cycle of short term hospitalization.
