I know that some times the things that are best for us at a time when things are Not as they should be can be hard to deal with, maybe even feel like neglect, but are really what is best. That can be a hard pill to swallow. I have reconsidered my initial opinion based on the experience that I Had... and does not reflect the experience of anyone else. He started January 25,2021 and ended in May of same year. There were mentions of certain persons on day 1 until ending and date and him never thinking I’d know of his conversations in therapy never thought I’d know or find out, but for a reason of probation he needed papers printed out in order to show progress of treatment. He said that upon asking for these documents he believed that what was actually said in therapy was not what had been recorded and transferred into the papers he received back bc in these papers it proved of infidelity. The day he started his therapy a name was released from him and that day just happened to be the same day we had court for the sentencing of my daughters murderer that had only died1 year previous. (Very difficult time) In his defense he stated that they lied (Brightview) and he never said anything about starting a new relationship with this woman bc it’s “not allowed”and that brightview was known for the dislike of some patients to others and that the therapists had been known to falsify statements in patients records out of spite. As you can imagine he is no longer my fiancé nor friend bc it didn’t seem feasible. 11 years together and this one thing tore us apart, please understand my concern. It is incredibly disheartening to see that the reviews for this place aren't looking the best! At my time of treatment, I can't say enough good about the substance abuse education as well as the other education they provided that has proven helpful in my journey ! The staff at the time went above and beyond for all of us and not a single soul was left unattended to. But I will say for the VA that if you go to the trouble of filing a complaint in Dayton about any questionable or just bad treatment, that they take your complaint very seriously. They also hold the department or agency at the center of the complaint responsible. In regards to my complaint not only did the VA call me directly but a representative of the department concerning the complaint asked me to come into meet with them so they could hear directly what changes I was wanting or needing. Sometimes we lose people, and when that happens these words dont mean much. Its the worse experience of our life. None of us ever want it and we all dread it. In those cases there isnt any words that help. But for current situations outside of those circumstances like mine, my experience has been positive. Ive found 1 or 2 Drs that need to go back to bed-side manner school. One of them the class about fraternization and compassion and another about the privacy rights of secretly recording visits without the patients knowledge or consent. My VA office is in Lima Ohio. The facility is spotless and my appointments are always prompt and on time. Never have I waited uncomfortable periods of time and most times Ive barely set down before their calling my name after checking in. I will say hgowever it was a mistake to remove the kiosks. I realize that older veterans may have troube with technology but those kiosks can be designed with ease of use in mind for EVERYONE. 4 STARS for LIMA VA Todd Sterling 1 year ago I haven’t had any major issues with them.
