A community gem! Truly innovative in its approach to treating mental health and addiction. Those working in the outpatient recovery center were very helpful. Impressed with how they offer family consultations/education, a mobile outreach service and residential housing. The founding father of the Penn Foundation, Norman Loux was a brilliant visionary who advocated to have psychiatry an accepted branch of general medicine. Ahead of his time, he put forth his vision for facilities to be built equipped to meet the needs of the “emotionally ill” presenting with varying severity of symptoms. His compassionate vision and mission came nearly a decade before President Kennedy signed the Community Mental Health Act in 1963! The Penn Foundation was a model for the country and the world! What a HUGE LEGACY!. It is wonderful to see how this place began, what they offer today and how the vision of their founding fathers continues to inspire growth. I was at Penn Foundation for 6 weeks and just got out last week and moved into a recovery house, which they set up for me. I've been in rehab 6 times and this place was by far, over the moon, the best rehab I've ever been to. It is spotlessly clean and beautiful, the food is great, the staff are amazing, and my counselor was wonderful. I honestly miss it so much!! I hope and pray that I'm done drinking forever and I believe I owe this to Penn Foundatoon. I've got a long way to go, but I was set up with IOP and for the first time in years, I finally have some strength. Thank you Penn Foundation for saving my life and giving me one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Debbie Strouse is my lifesaver and although I had some issues with some of the staff over the years, it was always made right because of Deb - she is the best counselor EVER and I am so grateful that I was able to have her as my therapist for so many years. I'm not sure how the village of hope is run now, but it is a good idea and I just think they had the wrong people in the job - they needed professionals, not past Giant Grocery Store employees that not only had no idea about psychology or mental illness but also suffered their own issues that they took out on me. Without Deb getting involved, I could've ended back on the street and she made sure I was treated with respect and helped me out. My current experience with penn foundation has been mostly great because Deb's my therapist and my psychiatrist Dennis is truly a fantastic doctor who really cares and actually talks with you - he doesn't just do the two minute chat that you get with most psychiatrist, he really listens. I also remember Dr. Sofranco (spelling?) who may no longer be working there, I'm not sure, but he was the Best Psych doctor I ever met. So although in the beginning there were some problems, there were key people (like the Act Team) who cared way more than most professionals do and that's what makes this place stand apart. Yes, everywhere you go there are issues, but the pros are so tremendous at this point that the past cons really don't matter - they actually helped me grow a lot so at the end of the day, they did and continue to do their job. I know some gave bad reviews but I want to point out that some people are going through a lot when they get these services and they may not be able to even deal yet and end up not wanting to do therapy and blame the therapists. I just know that from experience and it's no one's fault, it's part of recovery and I hope they found the right help at the end of the day. It's really hard to own some things and deal with such extreme psychological distress, but with a place like this, if you give it time and have patience with the staff & yourself, I guarantee you will see improvement. They are professionals with a long history for the most part and they know what they are doing, especially now (I'm talking about over a decade of experience with this place). I recommend it. I especially applaud the Act Team as I never had such a courteous and understanding staff who helped with literally EVERYTHING and they help so many people that really need it and I just can't say enough about how awesome that program is. They are so innovative and different, with so many programs you can't find elsewhere, so it's really a cool place. And they also were so tremendously helpful with getting me set up with aid, with Libby H. being one of the most hardworking, dedicated and knowledgeable counselors I've ever met over my long psych experience, and the fact she helped me with the SOAR application was a life changing experience - Libby and Deb are lifesavers and are a tremendous reason why I'm alive today, clean for over a decade and have everything setup that I need. I couldn't have done it without them as I was a mess and they handled me with care and it was just amazing. And the staff I had issues with aren't even there anymore because I think my issues with them and others were seen and corrected - so this place also owns their mistakes and try to make it right, truly listen to the patients and trust them, and that's a rarity too.i just think if your thinking about going here, you should definitely do so because they will help you.

This is my 2nd review. My 1st review was from 3 years ago when I first started at Northeast Family Healthcare. Since then I had to transfer because I moved and I thought that I would write another review to let people know that for 3 years the staff faithfully stayed true to their teachings and never once judged me or made me feel like a low piece of s@%! even when I relapsed. I never had to lie who I was and cheat my way thru the program to stay in the program. After being a client at Northeast Family Healthcare in Quakertown for 3 years, I can honestly say this clinic has been life-changing for me. Having to transfer due to my move to another County was one of the hardest parts about relocating.
What sets Northeast Family Healthcare apart is their incredible staff. Every person I encountered there treated me with dignity, respect, and genuine care. In recovery settings, being treated like a human being rather than just another case makes all the difference. i do want to base this review on my therapist.
I cannot emphasize enough how instrumental Anna was in my recovery journey. In my 20+ years in various treatment programs (since 1999), I've NEVER connected with a therapist the way I did with Anna from day one. For all three years, she was my rock and a consistent source of support.
What made Anna exceptional was her genuine approach to therapy. She truly listened - not just nodded along, but actually remembered details from our previous sessions. During my struggles and occasional relapses, she never once responded with anger, criticism, or disappointment. Instead, she helped me explore what happened, develop better coping strategies, and work through my underlying traumas.
Anna's sincerity and passion for helping others is evident in everything she does. She clearly loves her job, and that authentic care makes all the difference for clients like me. I can confidently say that without her guidance, I wouldn't be clean today. Anna, I am going to miss you so much. You clearly were a gift from God. Thankyou for being you and accepting me for me. i had so much fun in our weekly Zoom meetings. I am clean today with the help from you and never giving up on me. Please keep in touch and if you ever find another job please keep my contact info and let me know. (This is a prime example of why stable treatment is a must and consistently having the same therapist instead of always getting a new therapist assigned to you.)

I've been a patient here since 2015 amd they saved my life for sure. I had lost everything due to my addiction and since going here I've rebuilt my life from the ground up. I have a home multiple vehicles a wife and 2 amazing kids and I couldn't have done it without this place. I work some crazy hours sometimes being away for a couple days at a time and they have made sure I have my medication no matter what. I've had multiple councilors some good and some bad but my current councilor has been a godsend. Thank you NEFHC

I been on this Methadone Program about 7 years. I'm older n my addiction started in the 80's - Outpatient programs, then inpatient was a way of life off n on-over 20 yrs. I live in Q-twn now but Philly was what I wanted n used even more -long story but I'm home n been clean. I get 28 take homes n yes it took time, it's all worth it! Thank Heaven I am where I am ! I had the best experience at Eagleville in regards to the therapist, Miss Bonnie & Miss Elonda. Miss Bonnie was my therapist and she truly goes above & beyond not only for her clients but for any client that needs an ear to listen or advice on a situation. Her door was always open and still is even though I am no longer there. I just celebrated a year clean and Miss Bonnie plays a huge part in that. She helped me to grow in ways I never thought I could but because of how genuine she is I felt comfortable to open up and I respect her in so many ways and because of that I was able to open up and deal with things I didn't think I could. I had to end a really toxic relationship and Miss Bonnie sat with me just because she knew I needed the support. She will always hold a special place in my heart. On another note..... our case manager on the woman's side, Lordess unfortunately did not contribute these same caring characteristics. On many occasions Miss Bonnie would assist with situations that were for Lordess but we went to Miss Bonnie because we knew she would get it done because she cares about the well being of her clients. If I wouldn't have taken the initiative to find a recovery house I would've been discharged to the street. Also I filled out 2 applications. 1 for my social security card and 1 for my Birth Certificate and 3 months later I still do not have them. I believe that Eagleville, Cedar building needs a case manager that is going to care and participate in the clients well being as much as Miss Bonnie and Miss Elonda.

It was a life transforming experience for me. I learned so much. At the age of 62, I have been "On the Couch" a time or two. The atmosphere was down to earth. My experiences were "Real" experiences in Group Sessions and with my counselors... especially Alex and Christina.
If you want to have a good chance of getting well? Try Pyramid...good folks...if you want to get help...
There are some patient's as within other facilities, that are abiding with court orders...etc...ONLY. I get it. Some patients aren't ready to give it all up. And as reason would have it...gamble with their lives and those of others? We are all adults right? So fine...that's their choice....
But if you really want to get better? Get with Pyramid. At the very least, will get you pointed in the right direction. Then it's all up to you...and that's easier said then done. Trust me...you will have to work to maintain your health. No program will save you without a good personal effort.
As a life long Trauma Respiratory Therapist...I have seen my fair share of traffic accidents...many leading to death.
It's just not about you. It's also about the safety of others...

Thank you Roxborough for all that you do. My experience in the ER was very pleasant. From walking to the front desk, getting check in, talking to the nurses and finally seeing the doctor. I LOVED the care I have received from everyone. They were all knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and pleasant. Im sooo GRATEFUL to have chosen ROXBOROUGH MEMORIAL as my choice for medical treatment. I wish my ER doctor, Obioma Atufunwa could be my primary doctor because he was gentle and showed that he was concerned and cared about how I was feeling. I was also helped by Dominique she was very sweet and kept me informed about everything. My nurse Naimah was the best she was soooo kind, sentimental and down to earth. I was a patient at RFS over a year. Coreen was a great therapist for my conditions and struggles. I felt that I was in a place where I can be very comfortable in expressing myself without being judged. She helped me realize parts of myself that I realized were connected with my problems and past. For that, I am truly thankful for her help.
I will suggest it would be more helpful in sessions to have more pragmatic questions and advice on how patients are going through areas of improvement and what would be the next steps moving forward. This would be a way for patients to stay focused on concrete goals to get better

This agency is top of the line! The experiences with staff there (counselors, receptionists, psychiatrists, and even management) has been excellent. I am thoroughly pleased with their Family Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS). And although the first two counselors were not good matches for my individual therapy, We finally made a connection with the next one!
They do have a stringent attendance policy but with good reasons....without consistency there is not good progress.
Very professional staff. Also very experienced and knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile for clients that are willing to put in the effort.:)

My first time getting clean I stayed clean for 8 years. I relapsed and it was hard finding my way back. By being persistent in finding a rehab didn't take No for a answer; sought help from any and everybody I found my way back. Through Hogar Crea PA womens center I realized just putting the drug down didn't mean I was clean and sober I had to change everything about myself. Especially my way of thinking adapting new attitude and behaviors and a spiritual connection with my higher power. I'm grateful to have 3yrs clean today 🙏 a change of environment does help.
