Sherry Jackson-Cooper 3 weeks ago I put 5 stars because of what you do for people, I am posting this review in attempts of finding volunteering options in Gallatin Tennessee for my peer recovery certification, I now have a chance to do something great with my life, unfortunately I do not have the best transportation and was told the only I mean literally only place I can volunteer is at Centerstone's Madison location! I have contacted everyone even Volunteer Behavioral Health and they said Murfreesboro, I have over ten years of sobriety from street drugs and alcahol and I just think it is a shame that Gallatin Tennessee has no options, I would be willing to pick up patients for appointments or do whatever anyone needs help with, I could visit patients struggling with addiction or mental issues! I know now why not many people get their peer recovery certification now because it is so hard to find volunteering options! I think it is shameful, but at least you offer it in Madison so thank you but it just seems my story and my willingness to help other's could somehow help at the Gallatin location as well! I've also been to the Gallatin location. Their staff is amazing!! Always SO fiendly, informative, helpful, & there to greet you with a smile as you walk in... There's nothing worse then going into a Dr.s office (where post people would rather go/be anywhere else but the doctors.. lol) & not being greeted at all, or being given the stare down face that gives the look of the ole "Who are you? Why are you here? What do you want..?!" kinda face... lol!🙃 Ugh that's the worst! No worries for that when you walk into any of the Cumberland Mental Health offices! I can assure you of that!😉 Front desk staff are always so sweet, helpful, & get you checked in in a timely organized fashion.. No chaos, confusion , or waiting to be seen for hours past your appointment time.. I can say in all honesty I've never had to wait longer then 10 to 15mins at the most to be called back. That's a huge deal for us mommy's, working moms (& dads), or all humans in general.. We all have things to do, & places to be.. So sitting in a doctor's office waiting room is never ideal for anyone. At the same time, things do happen & I always understand when a Dr. or therapist is running behind one day or overflowed with patients/appts.. I get it. They're doing their jobs & they're doing it to the best of their ability to help all of us. So for me personally. So to wrap this up... I personally love Cumberland Mental Health & all their staff. Not just my provider... the secatorial ladies, the nurse, the therapist/case workers who never fail to always take a few minutes to tlk with me, ask me if I'm doing well, or if I need anything! The IOP at Epiphany offers at least 15 hours of programming weekly across multiple sessions, with both in-person and virtual options and the scheduling is built to work around life rather than replace it. I kept working. My family situation stayed stable. The program was intensive enough to actually move things forward while flexible enough that I didn't have to blow up everything else to access it. Epiphany felt different in that the clinical work seemed designed to address causes rather than just manage symptoms. The CBT and REBT work helped me identify thought patterns I'd been inside for so long they'd started to seem like facts. The ACT piece helped me figure out what I was actually trying to get to, not just what I was trying to get away from. And the experiential elements — including the equine therapy, which I was skeptical about going in — reached emotional material through a completely different entry point than talking about things. None of it was easy, and nothing about the program was designed to make it easy. What it was designed to do was give enough structure, enough clinical support, and enough different ways in that I could actually move forward rather than just get through each day. The Hendersonville location felt right too. Comfortable, not clinical — close enough to Nashville to be accessible but removed enough from my usual environment to actually feel different. She was very pleasant from the time I walked in the door, not to mention she gave me the correct visitation time and demonstrated a genuine willingness to assist. I would also like to recognize Courtney, Social Worker, for taking the time to personally come and speak with me. She explained the discharge treatment plan and made sure I understood the information. I truly appreciated her communication and willingness to take the time to address my questions. Overall, I am grateful for the staff members who demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to providing good customer service. Area for Improvement: One concern I experienced was with the telephone system. On several occasions, someone would answer the phone and then hang up without speaking. Additionally, when I did call back the automated message stated that all staff were busy and instructed caller to press 1 for reception. This made it somewhat difficult to reach someone when assistance was needed. Improving the telephone response process and ensuring callers are connected appropriately would enhance the overall experience. Positivity 1 week ago they did have group therapy sessions. I'm glad I had the services. I'm not certain the social worker helped me. I did feel like I was in a jail. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit her, there. She was in really good spirits, elated to see her brother, her mom, and me. Caring for the mentally ill has to be one of the most difficult services to perform, wouldn't you think? I sure do. From what I saw yesterday, I am very glad that Trustpoint is willing to take on such a difficult task. The place was as "clean as a whistle." The staff was very knowledgeable about their procedures. They were courteous, helpful while at the same time there was an atmosphere of firmness. A good firmness.
