They were there when I needed them. Staff members were awesome, took the time to listen and understand my situation. Dr. M. Slatton, Dr. L. Atkinson, and case manager Grace Reynolds were my doctors, friends, and most of all my rock. My therapist Dr. Slatton was there to help me with my problems and mental health. Always gave the right advice. Dr. Atkinson made sure that my meds were right for me. And case manager Grace Reynolds has made sure that I had everything I needed to get and always asked if there was anything that she can help me with even if it was food transportation. Always had her heart to help me in any of my needs. Overall, my five years experience at this facility which includes staffs and personnel, it was excellent. I would recommend anyone that needs help to them with my eyes closed. Keep up the great work. I had only been to 1 other treatment center (back in the 90's, it was 12 Step, secular recovery) The way I found S2L was by no doubt God doing for me what I couldn't do for myself. These ladies poured their hearts & souls into my spirit, reminding me of: who I am in Christ & who GOD is & how GOD sees me. I was only able to stay for 2 weeks due to health complications that were beyond S2L's capabilities. But what I can say is, after only 2 weeks, I came home to chaos with family & intense physical pain & I never once wanted to use alcohol or anything else to change the way I felt. The staff there are truly committed to the people they serve & unselfishly go out of their way to lift you up with the Word of God. I've been home for a little over a week now, my dad still hates me & I'm looking for somewhere to live with no clue how things will work out. However, I know Who is in control & I'm not worried about these things. I feel confident in Christ, he's always pursued me & has always provided. The only other things I want to add are: 1. like most all treatment centers there are strict rules to abide by, go in with an open mind. These rules are for your good. 2. I became the clearest in my mind after a very long time. With all of the leaders there and my coach Emily, I was truly blessed. God is in this place! I would always recommend S2L with the christian standards they have. And the love that everyone shown me was almost unfamiliar after so much turmoil but so so sweet. Being part of a group allows you to look at yourself closer. We were all different but yet still there for the same reason. Staff was great and honest and always fair. I feel like I would have stopped alcohol without rehab, but Cumberland Heights assured it with its teachings and the things I learned. I had a crippling addiction to 7-0H. For those unaware its a concentrate of the molecule in kratom that causes opioid like effects. It felt almost as strong as oxycodone and is available otc for cheap. I was spending at least 30 bucks a day for 6 plus months and I wasn't even one of the worst cases. Tolerance builds quick. Its physically addictive just like pain pills. I started drinking every night from the stress and got physically addicted to that too. I did the detox program for 7 days and Im finally free and can actually hold onto my money. The staff and patients are so kind and you can smoke hourly. You can sleep as much as you need. Im staying on Suboxone therapy from now on. It you are hesitating to go please do it. I would have ended my life if not for them. Its the only program I voluntarily did and finished. She was extremely supportive, welcoming, and helpful throughout our conversation. Her professionalism and kindness made a positive impression. Allison, Receptionist, was also very sincere, professional, and polite. She was very pleasant from the time I walked in the door, not to mention she gave me the correct visitation time and demonstrated a genuine willingness to assist. I would also like to recognize Courtney, Social Worker, for taking the time to personally come and speak with me. She explained the discharge treatment plan and made sure I understood the information. I truly appreciated her communication and willingness to take the time to address my questions. Overall, I am grateful for the staff members who demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to providing good customer service. Area for Improvement: One concern I experienced was with the telephone system. On several occasions, someone would answer the phone and then hang up without speaking. Additionally, when I did call back the automated message stated that all staff were busy and instructed caller to press 1 for reception. This made it somewhat difficult to reach someone when assistance was needed. Improving the telephone response process and ensuring callers are connected appropriately would enhance the overall experience. Positivity 1 month ago they did have group therapy sessions. I'm glad I had the services. I'm not certain the social worker helped me. I did feel like I was in a jail. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit her, there. She was in really good spirits, elated to see her brother, her mom, and me. (Just sayin- I am the fun one.😉) She is being well cared for and their system of visitor management is very tight. As it should be. Caring for the mentally ill has to be one of the most difficult services to perform, wouldn't you think? I sure do. From what I saw yesterday, I am very glad that Trustpoint is willing to take on such a difficult task. The place was as "clean as a whistle." The staff was very knowledgeable about their procedures. They were courteous, helpful while at the same time there was an atmosphere of firmness. A good firmness.
