Matr isnt a ordinary rehab program ..although 12 step program is in the curriculum it is a small portion of the rehabilitation process ...the staff and counselors have all been patients or in recovery themselves. When first walking thru the door u feel as if u just got to ur favorite aunt or relatives house u would visit yearly..you know the ones who never judged u but always made sure u knew when u were *€!@&÷? Up and gave u wisdom and advice to get thru it..jeanie is the sweetest REALEST people ive ever met..no matter the issue if ur genuine and u give 116% she will have ur back and shes saved alot of lives .kept alot of people from dying ,and serving life sentences in prison.shes known world wide and people listen when she speaks..hasnt been like that always if u know her story.but she spoke up for recovery addiction and other important issues and has gotten alot of laws and bills passed.you work with horses the environment is beautiful..not to mention the mind body and soul work ..its amazing what you learn..this is where u want to be if you want to change ur life..and u can smoke cigarettes .lol..

I was nervous to go here because of the reviews. But once I did, I did NOT regret it. The ladies at the desk were super nice and patient when the need for rescheduling or anything else arose. The counselor I see is awesome and not judgemental which is very important when in this industry and has been hard to find in the medical field in Utah not being an LDS member. Give them a chance. They have more than one counselor if the first doesn't work. I've also got my son into counseling here and I think he will do very well.

I had two of my children seen there for several months. Recovery was not on a slow, we need money basis like I've felt at other clinics. Through the years I've had one of my 10 children go to 6 different clinics for one thing or another while dealing with death, divorce, blending family and other things and our experiences here were top of the centers.

Maple Mountain Recovery in Utah completely exceeded my expectations. From day one, their team created a highly personalized treatment plan tailored just for me—every session felt tailored to my needs.
What really sets them apart is the way they seamlessly blend healing with genuine care and enjoyable experiences. Between therapy sessions, I had options like yoga, cold plunges in nature, art therapy, acupuncture, and many therapeutic adventures. It felt like real recovery, not just treatment.
The staff is amazingly attentive—every single team member knew my name, remembered my goals, and checked in regularly to see how I was doing. They made sure I felt supported 100% of the time and built an environment that was both professional and warm.
If you’re looking for a recovery center that cares deeply, customizes your journey, and injects a dose of fun and relaxation into the process—Maple Mountain Recovery is it. Highly recommend!

With an inte | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I recently had a surgical procedure at the surgical center within Mountain View Hospital in Payson, Utah, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! From the moment I arrived, the entire staff made me feel like I was their top priority. They were incredibly personable, taking the time to chat with me, answer all my questions, and ease any pre-surgery nerves with genuine warmth and kindness.
What stood out most was how caring and attentive everyone was—nurses checked in frequently, ensuring I was comfortable every step of the way, and the doctors and support team explained everything clearly without rushing. The process was remarkably fast and efficient, yet never felt hurried; everything ran smoothly from check-in to recovery. Their professionalism was top-notch, with state-of-the-art facilities and a team that clearly knows what they're doing.

My LO never had the opportunity to receive treatment here, but I can't say enough good things about Natalia who works at intake. My son was arrested due to his mental illness. In a frustrating system, Natalia was a shining light who worked hard to help my son get treatment instead of prison. She wrote multiple letters to the judge, New Roads came out and did assessments and validated my questions and concerns. If the actual facility listens and cares like she did, I am sure the place would be amazing. It came highly recommended to me from various parents whose loved one's were able to recover, thanks to New Roads. I truly wish my son could have received the help that he needs from a place like this. Unfortunately, our country still has a long way to go in the criminalization of those suffering with a serious mental illness. Thanks New Roads for all that you tried to do and especially Natalia.

Steps was the first place I've ever gone to treatment and it was well worth it, so far it's saved my relationship with my wife, my family and myself. The staff is extremely kind and caring and just wants to help however in order for them to do so you have to be 110% open and willing to put in the work yourself.
If your looking into treatment this may help you so you know what your going into and what you can bring.
Blankets and pillows from home.
You can vape and smoke (don't flush vapes down the toilet or you'll lose your privileges for everyone it almost happened).
You can have food and candy (no energy drinks).
Family nights every other week on Tuesdays.
Black out period is 5 days (no phone calls).
Very scheduled, you'll be going from 8am to 8pm every day but it passes time quickly.
Just a few things that made my time easier, so if your looking into becoming a better you, this is the place to start.

I’ve been two the sprigvillie Utah location twice. I just wanted to say how grateful I am as much as I hated it during the time it was a big part of my recovery and I can’t help but be grateful I’ve made some of the best fiends I could ever have there. Recovery is hard and this is probably one of the best places I’ve been they handle situations a lot better than most places. The staff there are very kind, I specifically remember when I was there a day tech named Chloe although I have no idea if she still works here I gotta say she was the most kindest sweetest person ever she made being there so much more tolerable and genuinely gave me hope for my recovery.

Spanish Fork, UT | New Haven offers residential treatments for teenage girls struggling with anxiety, stress, substance abuse or eating disorders in a home-like atmosphere. New Haven is located at Spanish Fork, Utah. New Haven focuses on discovering your daughter despite her struggles. New Haven is known for its clinical excellence as they not only provide a variety | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Sending my daughter to a residential treatment center was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make as a parent, and I was incredibly apprehensive at first. However, our experience with New Haven’s Stabilization & Assessment Program far exceeded every expectation I had. I am genuinely grateful for the level of care, support, and communication we received from day one.
The clinical director and my daughter’s therapist, Cassi, was truly exceptional. Cassi built trust with my daughter in a way I had not seen before, and knowing that my daughter felt safe going to her with anything meant everything to me. The clinical leadership made sure I understood every step of the process, and they took my concerns seriously from the moment we arrived. Their professionalism, compassion, and genuine investment in my daughter’s well-being stood out immediately.
The nursing staff was just as incredible. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure her safety, monitor her needs, and communicate with me about even the smallest changes or questions. There was never a moment when I felt out of the loop. Whether it was a medical update or a quick check-in, their communication was consistent, thoughtful, and reassuring. I could always reach someone when I needed to, and I never once felt like my daughter wasn’t in excellent hands.
One of the biggest strengths of New Haven’s program is how thorough, individualized, and comprehensive their assessment process is. They provided the most detailed psychological evaluation my daughter has ever received, and for the first time, I truly felt like her experiences, symptoms, and struggles were understood with depth and accuracy. They paid attention to nuances that are so often overlooked by other providers, and those insights have already transformed how I support her at home.
Despite some negative reviews in the past, our experience was nothing short of outstanding. The program is thoughtfully designed, tailored to each child’s needs, and grounded in compassion and clinical expertise. I felt supported at every turn; not just my daughter, but me as a parent navigating an overwhelming situation.
My daughter made meaningful progress during her three months there, and the foundation they helped her build is something she continues to benefit from today. I am sincerely grateful for the entire team at New Haven, and I would not hesitate to recommend this program to any family whose child needs this level of care. They truly changed our lives for the better.

The team of therapists, relational coaches, medical staff, and teachers was all needed to create a safety bubble around our teen while she experienced a real and present storm in her life requiring therapy (individual, group, & family therapy). After 12 months of school and therapy, she was able to actually complete high school early and has launched successfully into her college experience. Thankfully, New Haven offers aftercare options to make the transition bearable- it is a lot to transition from a safety bubble to college life. We appreciate the deep care from all the staff, including the cook and night staff, who all make themselves available to the kiddos when a listening ear is needed. The reason for 4 stars was because we would’ve like to see more daily physical activity included in the program for a healthy lifestyle. However, there were parent weekends to national parks and many outdoor opportunities. In summary, New Haven aims at making families whole and we were blessed to be one of those families.

My daughter spent a year at New Haven and it was an excellent experience for us and for her. If you are considering New Haven, you’re in a tough place and have been through a lot. We were there and made mistakes before finding New Haven. The team was excellent - especially her counselor (shout out to the amazing Amy). The depth of the program and the quality of the people had a profoundly positive impact on our daughter and our family. I’m extremely thankful that we found this place. We still stay in touch with multiple families that we met through the program. My daughter supported my writing this review which says everything. These are good people doing good work.

What I noticed very first because my husband and I walked down here out of desperation at 5 in the morning when we came is that everyone was pulling up in nice cars on their way to work and they all looked really happy and it was a time when me and my husband were really really bad addicted to heroin and meth and I realize these are the kind of people I want to surround myself with I totally turned my life around and just a matter of a few months! The thing you have to remember, is that this is a rehab! So all the reviews saying that they are terrible, you may want to take with a grain of salt!
I had a great experience with Foothill. Ricky really changed that place for the best, and he worked his butt off with not only the staff, but the clients too, to try to figure out a Happ medium! You can't have everything you want when you're coming off drugs and alcohol! It's a facility that has guidelines and rules! Ricky could have kicked me out a couple times, but worked his tail off with me, and the staff to get me through! I completed the 90 day program a little bit early, cause I started doing the work, and going the extra miles it took. I still struggle now and again but I'll always look here first! I’ve spent the better part of the last 11 years of my life at Provo Canyon School as a full time teacher and when Covid situations caused a need for additional student life mentors, and since my heart broke for the many teens who were in treatment during the pandemic, I became a substitute evening, and sometimes weekends overnight staff member to help during this time of needed compassion and supervision for the situation of these teens. I am also the parent of a child named Mikey (naming him here because I have four other children and don’t want any of them to feel that their identity and reputation could be compromised by anything I say here about their brother and his experience in five separate behavioral and treatment facilities that he and I together chose to place him in to help him learn to deal with his addiction and his life traumas). In-patient treatment is at best always tough because vulnerable children are away from their parents, family and familiar friends as they voyage into living in a dorm setting with other children with some similar issues, and some with much more complex issues. Provo Canyon School provides these children with fantastic psychiatrists who also work in private practice outside the facility. My son, (who was a student body President, a medical assistant, and, sadly an Opoid addict who sometimes used illegal drugs to self medicate his bi-polar mental disorder) was prescribed, and responded very well to medications similar to what the PCS doctors prescribe our patients. Like some of these respondents on the PCS comments page, he went through spells of feeling inadequately or overly medicated until the right dosage was attained by his doctors and his compliance in taking the meds correctly and having nurses, teachers, staff, and therapists work together to help him communicate and observe the meds that helped him feel “right” mentally. This process is not easy for the patient, family, nor staff or facility in general, and a lot of patience and energy is required to just get the meds right for the desired behaviors to happen. I question negative comments by some of our past students here because time and time again I have witnessed some dramatic and wonderful mental and behavioral improvements in my PCS students within a couple weeks of getting on properly prescribed meds if needed and getting away from the substances that some may have been detoxing from.
In 11 years, I have never seen any patient not have more than enough clean water from clean drinking fountains and more good food and tasty snacks, all planned and reviewed by competent dietary professionals and good cooks. Teachers and staff often dine with patients in the cafeteria and requests for special diet accommodations are often honored.
As far as academics are concerned, I have worked at five accredited public schools in two states and have never worked with more distinguished and professional school academic directors than we have now at PCS and both have been at the school for over ten years.
Many of the teachers have masters degrees and most have double majored with special education credentials to help both gifted and special needs students.
As far as I have been able to determine, comparing PCS with the five facilities that my own son attended, (wish I had known about PCS at the time) the school directors, leadership and all facility employees that I have observed are doing an amazing job of using Trauma Informed Care, best practices, professionalism and kindness in helping patients learn the skills and have the knowledge to become happy, successful and productive members of our society.

Please don’t judge this place just because of the Paris Hilton case that by the way didn’t win the case!. That happened a long time ago, with different staff and a different owner. Things are not the same now. Let that sink in. First of all let me start by no one gets denied food or medical attention if you or your kid claims they did then they still need help cause at that point it was up to them to eat or not and IF it was true they probably got denied food because they asked for something to eat when the cafeteria is closed or because they just want more n staff didn’t have more snacks that was provided !
I’ve been there, and honestly, it wasn’t as bad as people say. I’ve seen kids cry when they had to leave not because they were scared or hurt, but because they didn’t want to go. Some kids even told the staff they felt like family. If it was really that terrible, no one would feel that way. I really liked my staff. They were nice, they helped us through a lot, and they treated us with respect when we followed the rules. We got to do fun activities on the weekends, and when we behaved well, we got rewards like group hangouts or movie time. It wasn’t just about rules it was about learning how to be better and how to work together.
Now, I won’t lie and say everything was perfect. Swing A had some problems. The manager didn’t really seem to care or listen, and it made those days they worked feel kind of cold. Some staff on swing A weren’t as patient either. That part needs to change, because how staff treat kids really matters. But even then, there were still a few good people trying their best. Some people write bad reviews just because they didn’t like being told what to do. This place isn’t meant to be a vacation you can’t sit in your room all day or act out and expect no consequences, I seen a girl get jumped because she refused in her room and that’s exactly why they can’t be in rooms all day cause staff can’t watch everyone all over the unit! It’s not a chill spot It’s about learning and growing. That can be hard sometimes, but that doesn’t mean it’s abusive or unsafe. A lot of people forget that kids and staff are human. Mistakes happen. Sometimes staff were strict or got annoyed, and sometimes kids didn’t follow the rules. But I always felt like there were people there who cared staff are human and have feelings too and take a lot of mental/ emotional abuse too but They listened when you needed to talk and celebrated when you made progress. If it was really such a horrible place, it would have been shut down already. But it’s still open, and it’s still helping kids. It’s not perfect but it’s not awful either. I had a lot of good times and learned a lot about myself, and for that, I’m grateful

Provo, UT | Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah, is a psychiatric hospital operated by the State of Utah. This hospital accepts referrals from the local health authorities and the justice system. Utah State Hospital is at the base of the Provo Canyon, near Splash Summit Water Park and Peaks Ice Arena. The Utah State Hospital has onsite historical landmarks fo | Treatments Programs Payment Options | If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would. I was a patient at the Utah State Hospital, and I was there for 1 year. I have been out for almost 6 months, and have took time to reflect before writing my review to really soak in my experience and this is what I think. While there are many negative thinks I could say about this place, this hospital truly made my life worth living. The Utah State Hospital isn’t meant to be an easy experience, you are meant to be put in a place to challenge yourself, which will cause outbursts, setbacks, relapses, drama, and more, and sadly this is all apart of recovery. But I am lucky to have had all of these setbacks in a safe, secure environment such as the Utah State Hospital, surrounded by staff who at the end of the day care about you and have one ultimate goal, to keep YOU safe. Even if that means resorting to restraints or time to refocus that may cause distress in the moment because top priority is safety, and while that can feel neglecting and like the world is ending, it isn’t. It is actually the best interest for everyone. Because while staff have to focus on safety of the patients they also have to think of safety for themselves. We often think we know what’s best for ourselves but when we are in a state where we can’t make stable decisions we don’t always know what’s best for us. So the hospital has a carefully curated team of staff to manage meds, treatment , food, etc so you can succeed. The Utah State Hospital can be a helpful, therapeutic treatment if you use it to your full potential and keep going when things get hard. There will be times you wish you never went here, and times you hate the staff, but it will all be worth it at the end. The relief and self control you can gain. You can have fun at the Utah State Hospital but within the rules, and breaking the rules comes with consequences so privileges can be taken away, and that is not to punish but to help you learn for the future. Don’t expect fantastic food here, but it is still good and nutritious. I strongly suggest if you are going here to let your experience be yours and don’t let others opinions influence your stay, because you can let your stay be worth while if you choose too.
To sum things up,
Go into the Utah State Hospital with a fresh mindset, be open to change and growth. Be prepared for challenges and embrace them. Don’t expect perfection.
And if my therapist, or treatment team is reading this thank you for helping me be the person I am today.

This is hands down the best mental hospital in Utah. I was rarely ever bored, they have a TV with a Netflix and Disney Plus, and library for anyone, even those stuck on unit level. (And yes, they do have quite the manga selection, and movies you can rent, and podcasts/audio things you can put into your headphones. You can even learn Spanish in your headphones! Trust me: if you're bored, it's often your own fault.) They have so many activities, and as you level up, you can attend more activities. Dr. Roundy was the best doctor I've ever had. He got me on a medication that WORKS for the first time in my life, I have a medication that works. All the one star reviews: it could be possible they didn't follow the rules. Follow the unit and campus rules and while I cannot promise a swift discharge, your stay at the hospital will be a lot easier, and maybe even fun. (I had fun.) Although, yes, I have to say that there are days that you just want out... And sometimes patients (and staff) can make your life hard. I shouldn't sugar-coat it.
