Matr isnt a ordinary rehab program ..although 12 step program is in the curriculum it is a small portion of the rehabilitation process ...the staff and counselors have all been patients or in recovery themselves. When first walking thru the door u feel as if u just got to ur favorite aunt or relatives house u would visit yearly..you know the ones who never judged u but always made sure u knew when u were *€!@&÷? Up and gave u wisdom and advice to get thru it..jeanie is the sweetest REALEST people ive ever met..no matter the issue if ur genuine and u give 116% she will have ur back and shes saved alot of lives .kept alot of people from dying ,and serving life sentences in prison.shes known world wide and people listen when she speaks..hasnt been like that always if u know her story.but she spoke up for recovery addiction and other important issues and has gotten alot of laws and bills passed.you work with horses the environment is beautiful..not to mention the mind body and soul work ..its amazing what you learn..this is where u want to be if you want to change ur life..and u can smoke cigarettes .lol..

I was nervous to go here because of the reviews. But once I did, I did NOT regret it. The ladies at the desk were super nice and patient when the need for rescheduling or anything else arose. The counselor I see is awesome and not judgemental which is very important when in this industry and has been hard to find in the medical field in Utah not being an LDS member. Give them a chance. They have more than one counselor if the first doesn't work. I've also got my son into counseling here and I think he will do very well.

I had two of my children seen there for several months. Recovery was not on a slow, we need money basis like I've felt at other clinics. Through the years I've had one of my 10 children go to 6 different clinics for one thing or another while dealing with death, divorce, blending family and other things and our experiences here were top of the centers.

This was my first time in residential treatment. I’ve struggled with alcohol/addiction for the majority of my life. I found real help here (for my mental health as well). I found real people here. It was honestly some of the best weeks of my life. If any of my family or friends are struggling with drinking/using I will refer them here. This is a special place. A place that fosters cultivation of real personal growth. I’m currently in their IOP program after graduating residential, and it’s excellent aftercare. This place changed my life. Of course it came with challenges; but the environment, culture, and staff here are all great. I’m the one who had to commit to recovery, but this is the place to do it.

I don't even know where to start... In my darkest of times, when I felt so lost, hopeless, and worthless and I felt like the world was better off without me, I walked into these doors. And it felt like home. I felt warmth, love, and a sense of security. I had people surround me, and walk with me through some of the worst things in my life. And they showed me how to look inside and find what it was at my core that had left me feeling so empty. They showed me how to fill it with self love, forgiveness, understanding, and confidence. And I have used every moment of my time there as stepping stones and a foundation in everyday of my life since. I truly wouldn't be alive today without this place and all of the staff.

The food is amazing. The views are breathtaking. I really enjoyed the groups and the one on one with my counselor/therapist. Ardu' Recovery..... Oh my love... I obtained more in 45 days at their residential than I had previously in a combined 12 months elsewhere. I can not convey through mere words what they've created. A fruitless and in vain attempt would be to say that the staff aren't there for a paycheck, they are here to change lives and the do daily. That they alongside the clients help to cultivate a space of healing where one truly feels capable of being present, accountable, and vulnerable. That this is the place and these are my people. That I hope you find the courage within you to walk through those doors and the dedication to change your own life, with the help of some absolutely amazing people along the way. Though those would all be severe understatements, so if you're curious at least come check us out. What's the worst that could happen? Your life could be everything you imagined and more, things you couldn't even fathom brought to fruition, families healed and faith restored? The streets will always refund your misery but if you're looking for a place full of love, light, and like minded individuals welcome home relative.

Maple Mountain Recovery in Utah completely exceeded my expectations. From day one, their team created a highly personalized treatment plan tailored just for me—every session felt tailored to my needs. What really sets them apart is the way they seamlessly blend healing with genuine care and enjoyable experiences. Between therapy sessions, I had options like yoga, cold plunges in nature, art therapy, acupuncture, and many therapeutic adventures. It felt like real recovery, not just treatment. The staff is amazingly attentive—every single team member knew my name, remembered my goals, and checked in regularly to see how I was doing. They made sure I felt supported 100% of the time and built an environment that was both professional and warm. If you’re looking for a recovery center that cares deeply, customizes your journey, and injects a dose of fun and relaxation into the process—Maple Mountain Recovery is it. Highly recommend!

If you, a friend, employee, spouse, whatever are looking for help stop and read this for a minute. I wanted to make a post because it has been two years since I walked through the doors. I am a first responder (you don't have to be but they work well with them) dealt with stuff at work but also in my personal life. Prior to coming to chateau I drank crazy amounts (whatever your thinking probably more) just to get away from myself, stop my mind, and to feel normal. I didn't even need to be happy, I would pray and plead can I just please feel normal for a few days. I don't even care if I'm happy just not miserable. I decided I was going to end it and had a note written out. Before I did it (nobody knew I had plans till I talked about it at chateau) I was basically forced to go to chateau. That's right I didn't pick it, I was made to go. I had every excuse not to go. What's it gonna cost, how can I make it work with my family, I'm not just some drunk I don't need to go to a detox I need help, all of it. The most scared I have ever been was walking through the doors. They handled everything. They made sure I was good medically, got my meds right, they helped me deal with cravings, they had tons of great therapy, tons of new tools and coping mechanisms I never had, and new ways of taking care of myself. They let you get workouts in, you eat like a freaking king (or queen) and it was the first time in my life I had ever felt unconditional love from strangers. Whatever you did is probably bad, I guarantee 6 other people there at the same time as you have done it. The therapists are the first ones I ever opened up too. I sat in a lot of sessions before this but never was able to have them do what they could there. The staff are largely all people with past trauma, addiction, etc that came out the other side and know what it's like. They don't just say it they lived the same crap you are now. I stayed 2 weeks longer than my 30 days to work on a few things and when I got out I was sober and the normal weeks were back. I even felt happy. You know why you haven't been able to fix yourself? because you're beyond your capabilities. You are not beyond theirs though. They will fix you and will save your life. They did mine. I have a wife and two kids and they would not have me if it wasn't for chateau. I would have never in a million years got a company logo tattooed on me 2 1/2 years ago. I thought it was stupid. Guess who got a chateau tattoo for their first tattoo. A lot of us have. Not because anyone asked us too (in fact they would probably tell us it's impulsive but hey I waited 2 years and still wanted it) but that's the magnitude of what they did for us. That's the kind of company they are. There is no level of gratitude I can show that will match the gift they gave me. Besides just you, they will help teach your family (if they are up for it) about the symptoms while your gone too so they actually understand what is happening when you can't explain it yourself. Once you're out they check in on you, have group chats, a mentor, weekly group meetings, a podcast, and most importantly they help you have a plan when you go back. People don't talk like this about random treatment facilities. People go through dozens before they get clean. This isnt about sobering up or getting through this mess you're in. This is about helping you fix what is broken for good. You wont regret it. Whatever your hesitation is pick up the phone and talk to them. They have ways to help you get there. I wanted to post this not cause I started by believing in them but because I started by doubting them and became a believer. Pick up the phone, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You're loved even if you don't know it, you are worth saving even if you don't feel it, and you can be saved even if you don't believe it. NoOneFightsAlone LFC

I did not personally partake in Chateau however my loved one did, and I am forever grateful for Chateau. My loved one needed help and a friend recommended this treatment center. My loved one initially had struggles during the beginning of treatment I’m sure, like most everyone does, however once he was able to let his guard down, he was able to encapsulate different techniques, conversations, therapies etc. that helped give him the tools to assist in his everyday stressors. I too was given ‘homework assignments’ to assist in my loved ones’ healing process. What I admire about Chateau the most is that once you leave Chateau they don’t forget about you. There are continued support groups online and text threads that my loved one participates in and the staff are still available if my loved one is struggling. Through these outlets my loved one has gained support and friendships from individuals who weren’t even in Chateau while he was there, which shows great comradery. I am forever grateful for my loved one receiving treatment, and I believe it helped save his life. *One thing to note and I know every situation is so different. In our situation my loved one went to Chateau pretty immediately with little time to prepare (maybe 2 days). That being said, it was the first time he or I have ever experienced going to a mental health / wellness center. We didn’t know what to expect. I did receive a packet of this information a couple of days after he was in Chateau, but we were unable to go over the packet together in particular discussing who he wanted me to share updates about him to, or ask to be included in the ‘homework assignments’

As a clinical psychologist who works primarily with first responders, Chateau is my go to for treatment! I cannot say enough about how Deer Hollow has changed the trajectory of my life. After years of intense trauma therapy with little progress, I had reached such a low point that our fire department’s mental health team recommended I come to Utah. When I agreed, I had no idea how I was going to get through six weeks of residential treatment—and by week three, I wasn’t sure there would be enough time. Clinicians and admissions worked together to ensure I could continue the work we started with their PHP and IOP programs, which I feel were crucial. After years of struggling with pain and confusion of trauma, on and off the job, they were able to listen, hold space and help me begin to understand, heal and grow. Deer Hollow takes a truly holistic approach to wellness, incorporating nutrition support, physical exercise, yoga, and community service alongside group and individual therapy. The structured, intensive schedule helped me build a routine that I still follow today. An amazing bonus is the ongoing alumni support—weekly online check-ins, group meditation or yoga, and the meaningful connection with peers who continue to walk this journey with me. I am forever grateful for the amazing clinicians, techs, admissions team, and support staff who have given me a new outlook on life.

New Haven Residential Treatment Center in Spanish Fork, Utah is a residential treatment center specializing in care for teenage girls ages 12 to 17 who are struggling with mental health concerns and substance use disorders. The program combines evidence based clinical therapy with experiential approaches and academic support in a safe and structure
Sending my daughter to a residential treatment center was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make as a parent, and I was incredibly apprehensive at first. However, our experience with New Haven’s Stabilization & Assessment Program far exceeded every expectation I had. I am genuinely grateful for the level of care, support, and communication we received from day one. The clinical director and my daughter’s therapist, Cassi, was truly exceptional. Cassi built trust with my daughter in a way I had not seen before, and knowing that my daughter felt safe going to her with anything meant everything to me. The clinical leadership made sure I understood every step of the process, and they took my concerns seriously from the moment we arrived. Their professionalism, compassion, and genuine investment in my daughter’s well-being stood out immediately. The nursing staff was just as incredible. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure her safety, monitor her needs, and communicate with me about even the smallest changes or questions. There was never a moment when I felt out of the loop. Whether it was a medical update or a quick check-in, their communication was consistent, thoughtful, and reassuring. I could always reach someone when I needed to, and I never once felt like my daughter wasn’t in excellent hands. One of the biggest strengths of New Haven’s program is how thorough, individualized, and comprehensive their assessment process is. They provided the most detailed psychological evaluation my daughter has ever received, and for the first time, I truly felt like her experiences, symptoms, and struggles were understood with depth and accuracy. They paid attention to nuances that are so often overlooked by other providers, and those insights have already transformed how I support her at home. Despite some negative reviews in the past, our experience was nothing short of outstanding. The program is thoughtfully designed, tailored to each child’s needs, and grounded in compassion and clinical expertise. I felt supported at every turn; not just my daughter, but me as a parent navigating an overwhelming situation. My daughter made meaningful progress during her three months there, and the foundation they helped her build is something she continues to benefit from today. I am sincerely grateful for the entire team at New Haven, and I would not hesitate to recommend this program to any family whose child needs this level of care. They truly changed our lives for the better.

The team of therapists, relational coaches, medical staff, and teachers was all needed to create a safety bubble around our teen while she experienced a real and present storm in her life requiring therapy (individual, group, & family therapy). After 12 months of school and therapy, she was able to actually complete high school early and has launched successfully into her college experience. Thankfully, New Haven offers aftercare options to make the transition bearable- it is a lot to transition from a safety bubble to college life. We appreciate the deep care from all the staff, including the cook and night staff, who all make themselves available to the kiddos when a listening ear is needed. The reason for 4 stars was because we would’ve like to see more daily physical activity included in the program for a healthy lifestyle. However, there were parent weekends to national parks and many outdoor opportunities. In summary, New Haven aims at making families whole and we were blessed to be one of those families.

My daughter spent a year at New Haven and it was an excellent experience for us and for her. If you are considering New Haven, you’re in a tough place and have been through a lot. We were there and made mistakes before finding New Haven. The team was excellent - especially her counselor (shout out to the amazing Amy). The depth of the program and the quality of the people had a profoundly positive impact on our daughter and our family. I’m extremely thankful that we found this place. We still stay in touch with multiple families that we met through the program. My daughter supported my writing this review which says everything. These are good people doing good work.

As a professional in the industry, I had the opportunity to tour this beautiful facility. The staff was very welcoming and provided me with great details about their program as they showed me around the buildings, explaining what they could offer to the adolescents they work with. I loved the "adopt a cat" program and the equine services that they offer to their students. It was clear that their mission was to provide excellent treatment to their clients, aiming to set them up for success upon leaving.

I really appreciate every part of this process I have been through with these guys! Mrs. Brown is such an amazing soul. It’s nice to be treated like a person and not a case number. I’m thinking of continuing sessions even after my required ones are done just so I can have that freedom of no judgment or anything when it comes to talking about personal life and feelings. For the people that walk into this place and already have their minds made up about what it’s going to be, of course it’s not going to be good. For those that come into the process with an open mind and positive attitude, I don’t see how this can’t be helpful. But if you’re looking for advice on who to pick if you’re able to go so, Melanie Brown is hands down just amazing.

Deer Hollow - Pioneer House is one of several Deer Hollow locations that offer treatment services to their community. This serene residential recovery facility is located in Draper, Utah. This residential program has a lot to offer, including a 13-bed co-ed house that’s situated in the middle of a secluded, private drive that overlooks enchanting
I came to Deer Hollow carrying years of unresolved trauma and symptoms that had taken over my life. I had tried therapy before, but nothing reached the root of what I was dealing with until I walked through their doors. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel safe, grounded, and understood in a way I hadn’t experienced anywhere else. Residential treatment was intense, structured, and emotionally heavy at times — but it was also exactly what I needed. The trauma-focused work, especially IFS, helped me understand why I reacted the way I did, where my patterns came from, and how to work with the parts of myself that had been stuck for so long. The therapists were incredibly skilled, patient, and compassionate. They didn’t just teach me tools; they helped me truly heal. Moving through the step-down levels of care gave me time and support to practice what I was learning while still having a clinical team behind me. Each phase built on the one before it, and for the first time, I felt real change happening — not temporary relief, but deep, foundational healing. Deer Hollow didn’t just help me manage my trauma; they helped me reclaim my life. I’m grateful every day that I made the decision to go.

Despite my difficulties and frustrations deep diving into my past traumas, while utilizing the different modalities offered at DH; I did the strenuous work to process and find my path to peace again. Investing in myself has been the greatest gift. DH’s Therapists, medical staff, chefs, and techs were genuinely committed to helping me through my processing. Thank you very much for your support and continued assistance on my trajectory finding happiness and joy again. Let it be known, RNs need nurturing too; this is a special place to find it. Thank you Deer Hollow!

When you are serious about recovery come to Deer Hollow. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. I am a Paramedic that came up in the time of “stuff those emotions down”, I’m here to tell you that does not work. They come back with a vengeance and hopefully you don’t take your own life before you get help. Give Deer Hollow a chance, The staff is top notch and they have been through similar stuff and achieved Victory. You will be with peers going through the same stuff, no matter what their background we are more alike than different. I thank the people of Deer Hollow for saving my life. Don’t believe the lie that you are telling yourself, “that I’m not hurting anyone else” there are people in your life that love you and want to help.

I'm not sure how to explain it. It feels like a jail where they baby you with unlimited cigs and good food. Its not fun to wake up to a large man in the shared bathroom shitting at 4am. Yet, the court yard and people you meet are mostly good. Get a watch before you go so you can be on time for the many groups and an MP3 radio so you have something to do.

New roads is an amazing program. I received so much help & healing Even just in the few months I attended IOP there. More so than I was ever able to obtain at any of my other programs. My therapist was absolutely amazing, and they all worked extremely hard to make sure I had everything I needed. The Dr's and all the staff are very kind and knowledgeable. They genuinely want to help people who are struggling. It's a different kind of program in its very own special way and I greatly recommend it to anyone struggling. The staff is great about helping you navigate your way so you are able to receive the most beneficial treatment for yourself. I encourage you not to hesitate to call. That phone call may be all that's standing between you & a healthy, happy future. Beth Sherman

My LO never had the opportunity to receive treatment here, but I can't say enough good things about Natalia who works at intake. My son was arrested due to his mental illness. In a frustrating system, Natalia was a shining light who worked hard to help my son get treatment instead of prison. She wrote multiple letters to the judge, New Roads came out and did assessments and validated my questions and concerns. If the actual facility listens and cares like she did, I am sure the place would be amazing. It came highly recommended to me from various parents whose loved one's were able to recover, thanks to New Roads. I truly wish my son could have received the help that he needs from a place like this. Unfortunately, our country still has a long way to go in the criminalization of those suffering with a serious mental illness. Thanks New Roads for all that you tried to do and especially Natalia.

Steps was the first place I've ever gone to treatment and it was well worth it, so far it's saved my relationship with my wife, my family and myself. The staff is extremely kind and caring and just wants to help however in order for them to do so you have to be 110% open and willing to put in the work yourself. If your looking into treatment this may help you so you know what your going into and what you can bring. Blankets and pillows from home. You can vape and smoke (don't flush vapes down the toilet or you'll lose your privileges for everyone it almost happened). You can have food and candy (no energy drinks). Family nights every other week on Tuesdays. Black out period is 5 days (no phone calls). Very scheduled, you'll be going from 8am to 8pm every day but it passes time quickly. Just a few things that made my time easier, so if your looking into becoming a better you, this is the place to start.

My experience with Embark has been wonderful. My daughter was mentally unstable when arriving to Embark. I called several different facilities and Embark was the best option. Intake Specialist, Financial Rep, Therapists, Drs, Nurses the entire team was supportive as especially being 19 hrs away from home. Family sessions were conducted as needed, the open communication and emails were great to keep me updated with progress. This is the first place that was supportive of my decision not to rush to put my daughter on Meds as soon as possible. My daughter remained at Embark for 4 months and I can say she has matured, developed more self esteem, improved respect and has showed tremendous improvement in her mental health. She currently only taking meds that’ she actually needs but eventually can be winged off. Therapist Ray and Beth has checked on my daughter and means so much to us. My daughter talks about how she’ misses the mountains and all the kind people she met while there. My daughter experienced good days with peers and bad days but every experienced was needed for her growth. I appreciate everyone that was apart of our experience. As far as price holy crap it is pricey lol but there’s payment plan options (if you qualify). Before my daughter was released, a ceremony was held. Now that she’s home, she’s still apart of Embark online Therapy which was also another option. I love it bc her progress and growth continues. My daughter misses the chef that’s at the house, the trail walks and 24/7 care. Thanks so much.

i stayed here from 6/16/22 to 9/6/22. i really liked my stay here. i have so many positive memories from embark, like stealing an ice cream bucket and eating it in a closet with broken hangers with my roommates, bug hunting with my favorite staff members (laura and carsen), and so many more. one thing i did not like here was how every time i would level up, a rule would change and i wouldn’t be able to do that certain thing. for example, the “transition room” for the clients on transition, was automatically no longer the transition room when i leveled up, and another example, also while i was on transition, parents could take out their kids for a few days AND overnights while visiting, but as soon as i hit transition, guess what? they took that away. other than that, my therapist cameron was amazing and helped me in so many ways. the staff that worked there when i was there have moved on with their lives and i have too, but i still think about my embark days.

Embark is a wonderful residential treatment facility for teenage girls. My daughter was spiraling out of control for two years and after trying everything we could, I researched places all over the country and decided on Embark. The entire staff was amazing. The communication we received weekly about the progress was so detailed. The building is comfortable and homey, giving the girls the perfect environment to work on their mental health goals. The therapists were phenomenal. It was three months of intensive individual, group and family therapy. They also provided the structure and routines to help develop character, resilience and responsibility. I can’t say enough good things about Embark. I will be forever grateful for how my family was able to repair our lives with the guidance of Embark.
