The River Source is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Arizona City, Arizona. They offer detox, inpatient and outpatient treatment. Flexible financing options are available. The River Source took me in when I was close to being too far gone. It's not a vacation, and don't expect one. However, the Staff did an extensive evaluation on my individual needs in terms of dietary, medical, and mental health; and ultimately everything I required to be healthy and sober. The Staff inspires you to live again instead of existing, or not existing. After a detoxification period of 7 days from the last time you used, you will move to the Residential side where you will really learn the affects of drugs in your life and all those in it by utilizing a 12-Step holistic program curriculum. You will build strong bonds with fellow clients and realize you are not alone. And no matter how bad you think your life is going, there is someone sitting next to you in a similar, if not worse, situation. You will have the opportunity to exercise and learn meditation techniques to elevate the healing in your body. You will be amazed at your transformation if, and only if, you put in the work. The Staff provides you with the tools you need to become a sober addict. And once you are there, give yourself the break you deserve and be proud of your progress. Don't expect perfection because you will be disappointed. I just passed 90 days sober. I drank over 30 years and after multiple spinal surgeries, I was prescribed opiates. Slowly, gradually, and piece by piece, my life fell to shambles over 15 years Yet, I was holding onto a runaway train. The opiates were telling my mind that I was feeling more pain than was actually there in my body. If you can identify with any of what I said, get help. If not from The River Source, then get it somewhere before its too late. The River Source saved my life and I am eternally grateful. If you have questions, I am more than willing to assist. "I will not fail those with whom I serve." Col. Ret. Gregory Fontenot, 1996

I originally signed up for 30 days and I eventually extended treatment. Everything about my time here was great in my darkest of days my fellow brother and staff helped me push through it. Groups inside/outside meetings were great especially the outside meetings. Trips were very nice as well. Vitamin I.V. bags were very helpful part of my recovery. Massage, Yoga, Exercise Time were a huge part of my recovery. Food was always nutritious but it would have been nice if they could have thrown some chicken & waffles every now and then. I was very greatful to have been here for my recovery

Stepping away from the people, places, and things that remind you of life in addiction can be transformative. Pair that with innovative therapies and compassionate care from renowned clinical and medical experts, and you’ve arrived at The Haven Detox. Holistic Healing Meets Modern Science in Green Valley Our latest treatment center in Green Valle
I spent four weeks, from August 20-September 19 2025 at The Haven. I was suffering from a substance abuse addiction as well as mental health issues due to the addiction. I have never been in rehab before and feel extremely lucky that I found The Haven for this experience. From the moment I arrived I felt taken care of. The behavioral health techs Marcus and Felicia helped me during the admission process and made a scary situation comfortable. My therapist, Ariana met with me each week and whenever I had panic moments she always came to find me and help me through those tough moments with compassion. My caseworker, Diana, navigated me through my fmla and disability paperwork with ease, and always listened when I needed a friendly ear. The group facilitator’s, Marquis, Ace, Brittany and Diana are all compassionate teachers and listeners. I learned so much from all of them. I can’t say enough about the fantastic food or the cleanliness of the facility. Everything down to the laundry was taken care of so I could focus solely on my recovery. Navigating that first uncomfortable week was made so much easier by the wonderful, caring staff at The Haven.

The Haven Detox is truly an incredible place to go when seeking sobriety. Addiction is not an easy thing to overcome and even harder when you try to do it alone. Here at The Haven Detox the staff takes incredible care of you and genuinely wants you to get better. I entered this facility voluntarily due to anxiety and depression which I now know is due to cptsd, although they did not diagnose this here. This is not a place for trauma survivors, they will traumatize you. I disclosed wanting to leave privately to my therapist, later a security guard confronted me about this. A serious violation of privacy. I felt unsafe and eventually got out by protesting to other patients and family. No surprise that patients are driven to suicide here. They behave like a cult. This was 5 years ago. I completed treatment at a kinder facility.

My VA Doctor Actually Knows My Name. Thank you, Dr. Helene Rhodes Kramer! Living with rheumatoid arthritis is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. It's a brutally painful, isolating, and exhausting disease. What makes it bearable is having a VA doctor who truly knows me — not just my chart, but my name. Dr. Helene Rhodes Kramer, Rheumatologist at the Tucson VA specialty clinics, is that doctor. Recently, my pain got so bad that I went to the local VA emergency room for relief and completely forgot I had a scheduled tele-health visit with her. While I was in the ER receiving 1,000 mg of steroids shot to calm the inflammation, Dr. Kramer called because I hadn't logged into our video appointment. When she learned I was in the ER, she spoke directly with the emergency room team about my RA and my treatment. I was so proud and grateful in that moment because it proved she knows my name and my story, and that she actively defends my care. That kind of attention and coordination doesn't just feel good emotionally — it improves my overall well-being and my medical outcomes. It's the difference between feeling like "just another patient" and feeling truly seen. Dr. Kramer is my VA doctor because she knows who I am. That means everything when you're living with a chronic, painful disease. Thank you, Dr. Kramer, and thank you, Tucson VA, for your care and service. Brenda M

The levels of care available at Desert Addiction
I've worked in the field of Mental Health and Addiction for 25 years. I've had multiple family members in treatment across different levels of care. I can confidently say that I would refer a family member to Desert Star because of the quality of programming, experience of the clinicians, and based on the outcomes of the clients we've sent to Desert Star.

The Desert Star Program is very good and and effective part of any recovery. My classes were all virtual, however I'd recommend In-Person if possible to connect better with the other participants and the facilitator.

Hands down the best clinic I've ever been a patient of. From the case managers to the nurses to the doctors, they are all very caring, competent, and professional. Being a non-profit, they maintain a culture where the care and wellbeing of their patients is prioritized over profits. Compassionate and non-judgmental with responsive and courteous staff. Fantastic level of care compared to many other clinics I've been to. You can tell they want to see you succeed.
