I came the HH in 2004, I had one foot in my grave and the other on a banana peal. My mother & father dropped me off at the blue house and wondered what I had got myself into. Believe it or not the first person i met as I entered was no other than Tom Hickey.Tom took one look at me and said YOUR GONNA DIE !!! I thought to myself what a thing to say to someone upon arrival. It took a while for me to figure out and eternalize why he would say that. The truth is he was rite. If I hadent shown up when I did I would have for sure.. By the grace of my higher power the Hickey house and Tom Hicky I didn t relaps. Truth is I wanted to. I wanted to go out and get just a tore up as possible. Only problem is I remembered what to said to me. I eventually was put on staff at the Mountain House. I stayed at the house for 3 years and moved to DemorestIn one of Sherry Hickyes apartments. I forgot to mention I worked 3 jobs while there. Made more money than I ever have and loved it. I was actually happy. No dope and I was actually happy.. Star Bridges was a good friend to me. I wonder if he remembers me? Hey Star hope you are well.

310 Black Bear Ridge
Sautee Nacoochee, GA 30571
| Black Bear Lodge is an addiction and mental health treatment program that can help address substance use disorder, behavioral health concerns, co occurring conditions, and mental health diagnoses for individuals around Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia. The facility currently accepts several major insurance providers like United HealthCare, Humana, Aet | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My oh my! What can I say about Black Bear!? During my time at Black Bear I was rebellious at first because I'm an Addict. After getting settled, I realized that Black Bear Lodge is more than a rehab... it is a spiritual, holistic retreat! The walks from cabins to the different centers and the theater was amazing. I was physically unfit because of my alcoholism. When I left Black Bear I was much stronger physically and mentally. The counselors are so amazing and attentive. I had Corey my first time and Susan my second time (took me two times but that's neither here nor there lol. They were so empathetic. The nurses were amazing! Ms. Sylvia was the best nurse I ever had! Her daughter Jess was a tech and she was so caring and understanding. I had fun during my stay. I met some very comical people that I still stay in contact with to this day. Today I am almost 1 year and 1 month sober! I couldn't be here without the self care and mental health information that I learned from Black Bear! The food was great! The chef even caters to special diets (vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerance). The staff really cares about the clients. I could go on and on about Black Bear and my review is jumbled because there is just so much good there! Detox was great, recovery was great, cabins were amazingly beautiful and relaxing, classes were informative, nursing was amazing...even the van drivers were awesome, so funny and caring. The off campus AA meetings were a good experience and prepares you for going to meetings after you get discharged. The administrative staff and discharge coordinators are great. Loved Melissa and the two Amandas and the many Heathers lol! I can't remember all the names but I love them all! I would honestly go to Black Bear just to chill if they allowed alumni to do that! Anyways, there might be some things that you may not like but if you are humble, open and vulnerable you can have an amazing experience at Black Bear Lodge Recovery!

My stay at Black Bear Lodge was surprisingly pleasant, despite my circumstances. The food was better than good, and having the nature walks and hikes were essential to my recovery. Looking back, I am so grateful for these small luxuries because they made all the difference. Especially since a lot of these places lack those commodities.

I have been going to this treatment center since August. In that amount of time I have seen people heal from opiate addiction to move on to healthier and better lives. I will say that the counselors at this clinic care deeply about each one of the people who walks through the door every day. If you struggle with addiction, I would suggest calling and talking to one of the counselors. Truly they care.

Extremely thankful for this place. The director is definitely a lot more helpful and nice than the director at our home clinic. Definitely recommending them to anyone that needs them in this area. If you re looking for a Christian-based program, this is one of the best places to consider. From personal experience, I attended this program back in October 2016 at the age of 20. At that time, I had no direction or discipline in my life. Waypoint Ministry introduced me to both and so much more.During the first 30 days of the program, participants go through a blackout period. During this time, we weren t allowed to exercise, as it allowed our bodies to recover from years of drug use and unhealthy lifestyle choices. After 30 days, we were allowed to begin exercising, which was a turning point for me.It has now been eight years since I graduated from the program. I still stay in contact with the men I attended with, and I cherish the fellowship I experienced there. One of the most impactful parts of the program for me was working in the thrift store. It was a fantastic learning opportunity that taught me soft skills I still use today. Because of that experience, I now enjoy visiting thrift stores and looking for treasures, knowing how much thought and effort goes into sorting donations, stocking the storefront and clothing racks, and even selling items online.Sadly, I ve lost a couple of friends over the years because they chose to return to their old lifestyles. However, I ve also witnessed countless examples of broken men entering the program and leaving as spiritual giants.Waypoint Ministry opened doors for me to participate in missions trips, youth camps, and even spreading the gospel in prisons. As of 2025, I m still sober and stay connected with a few people from Waypoint. If you had told me years ago that my life would turn out this way, I wouldn t have believed you. If I could sum up this program in one word, it s love. I came to Waypoint broken and scared, but this place gave me the opportunity to slow down, examine my life and upbringing, and find peace.I don t know what the future holds, but every morning I greet the sunshine with gratitude because of the incredible people involved in this ministry. It wasn t easy I can t count how many times I wanted to give up. But I kept going, and life today is nothing short of incredible.

I have been through a couple of rehabs, both were great experiences in their own way, but I greatly appreciated the staff here, from techs to nurses to counselors. Many have been through recovery themselves, and the level of care and empathy was apparent from day 1. They handled my detox well... I still had symptoms, which is expected, but they made me as comfortable as possible. I'm not sure where the negative feedback is coming from, because after my brother passed and I relapsed, they did everything possible to help get me back on the right track. The groups are educational and worth attending, and I absolutely loved small group and Experiential days. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them.Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt. Its a serious subject and serious things happen with it....and more without it. Id be crippled, so you can see the magnitude of my plight.Eric knew and did everything he could.I cant say enough for them.Chris OBrien

So far it has been good I recently transferred in from another clinic they were very helpful the only thing I do not like is all medicaid recipients have to video call daily to take the dose in front of a nurse or else we are not covered by medicaid for that day. Which is a medicaid thing but thats the only difference from my last clinic

This review is for the ER Doctor that treated my Mother in Law on 12/26. Everyone was very caring even though they were covered up with patients. But, Dr Ariel Wilson was a wonderful example of caring and professionalism during the visit for my 90 year old MIL. She went above and beyond any expectations that we would normally have. She deserves recognition for her wonderful service and the example she is setting. All Drs and staff should be like Dr Wilson! Thank you!
